- Talitha de le Poer - 07-25-2010 [html] style="padding: 0px; position: relative; left: 0px; top: 260px; width: 310px; height: 300px; z-index: 2; overflow: auto;"> Character Name: Talitha Lykoi. Character Birthdate: February 8, 2008. Wolf or Luperci?: Luperci Ortus. Species: Mixture of German Shepherd, Coyote, Gray Wolf, and Red Wolf (don't know the exact percentages, unfortunately! D Gender: Female. A secondary form of contact: artificialsoldiers@gmail.com Currently played characters: Just Talitha. How you found 'Souls: As an affiliate on another RPG. Her head felt heavy and weighed upon her neck, her shoulders tense, her feet blistered, her lower back sore. This had been one hell of a hangover and insomnia spell to conquer for several days now. Still, she couldn't find the means to sleep, wouldn't find the means to sleep until her head rested in a place that she could rest soundly. There was only one place to obtain such a thing, and even now, wasn't sure if this place would be open with welcomed paws and arms to accept her back. She knew that the reigns were slowly slipping from her grasp, slipping from her mentality and her sanity. This was a desperate measure of hers, a desperate action for a last resort. As much as she liked to run, there was no path out there that would bring her to where she wanted to be. Not even the path that was bringing her back to the place that was merely a shot of a true home seemed all that promising. Yet, there was a glint of what looked like some flicker of distant hope in her crimson eyes. The scent of Gabriel's markings along the territory boundaries made her flesh crawl, every hair stand on end, and brought reminiscing memories of when she was young, innocent, untainted. Ah, those were the days, and she would give anything to have a taste of them again. Talitha felt enlivened to see Gabriel once again, but was also apprehensive of what he would say when his eyes would draw upon his daughter again in actuality before him. She abandoned him before, several times actually, and how much longer would he put up with her disappearing acts, if he was still willing to? Hell, Talitha didn't even want to think of Ezekiel's reaction to this all neither. Like said before, this was all a movement of desperation for herself. Selfish? Absolutely. Life out in the open was too stressful, too vulnerable. The Lykoi was not a weak girl in survival by any means, but... tarnished so to speak, even exhausted from the mental torment she suffered in her solitude while gone. Lingering at the extremity of Inferni in the early hours of the morning (which bode even more fatigue for her to sleep), Talitha was in her Lupus form, her figure more than lax of itself. Everything about her seemed worn down, from her neck and shoulders to her limp tail, all except her ears which naturally stood tall and alert, but overall she seemed ragged. Not a good first impression in the least, but it wasn't like Talitha to put up a front with anything, either. - Gabriel de le Poer - 07-27-2010 [html]
Sorry for the delay! It had been nearly two weeks. Gabriel no longer woke to night-terrors, and was healing slowly. His body ached still. Yet the monster had fallen, and with him an era. The Aquila was pleased that it was done. He was lucky. This place was lucky. His own mother had been wounded days before the beast had come to him, and Gabriel did not doubt that Haku sought to kill her to enrage him. Though he would never admit it, Gabriel understood Haku far too well. They were, after all, the same. Returning on a patrol (for Gabriel often patrolled at night, either alone or with Hybrid), the Aquila broke into a run. He had not been able to run far with his wounds, and found that this was again the case. After perhaps a quarter of a mile his body had refused to continue. Aching, furious, the coy-wolf’s face had twisted into a grimace and he had to take several long minutes to quiet the pain. By the time it had subsided the field was lightening..and with this light, he spotted a figure in the distance. It was small, but dark. Picking up his pace to a slow trot Gabriel neared the stranger, balking as the scent finally hit him. “Talitha?” He called out, drawing ever closer. - Talitha de le Poer - 07-27-2010 [html] style="padding: 0px; position: relative; left: 0px; top: 260px; width: 310px; height: 300px; z-index: 2; overflow: auto;"> +3 There was an urge to collapse then and there, her exhausted paws sensing the borders and knowing this was the place she was destined to rest and rejuvenate herself. That wasn't an entire certainty yet, though. Gabriel had always been a doting father to her, no matter how many times she tended to screw things up and run off into oblivion without looking back or even giving any notion of goodbye or see you later. Gabriel deserved a goddamned medal for it, no less that he didn't deserve to put up with her untamed adolescent ways. Talitha screwed up once again, no surprise in that. If Gabriel decided not to accept her back into Inferni, Talitha didn't think it would be anything to weep over, because that was what she deserved in the first place. Stupid, stupid girl, putting the one individual that matters through hell worrying about you, and just think, Ezekiel is probably off worse than daddy dearest... her conscious would mutter, tsk-tsking her in the back of her mind. From her tattered self seemed to breathe in sudden life once from the shadows and like a swift angel of death Gabriel de le Poer himself approached. Everything about her, from her narrow muzzle to her unusually large ears, perked up. Seemingly her crimson eyes glazed over her father's scarred visage, and couldn't help but swell with guilt and emotion. Hearing her name muttered, one ear flicked, and her legs trembled. "Dad," Her voice was a murmur, but affection was evident. "It's really me. I've came back to you... again." The last part sounded pathetic, but was genuinely said enough. Seeking out the familiar scars and the handsome structure of Gabriel, there was something about him that didn't seem right. Maybe it was the connection that she held with her father that was strong even after all this time, or maybe whatever was wrong, it was just very apparent on his face. "Dad, are... are you alright?" Talitha said, searching his eyes, his face, everything about him. Something felt a little off center to her, but didn't know exactly what was wrong. - Gabriel de le Poer - 07-28-2010 I will continue this, obviously, but please start posting since you're eager to and I am holding you back. You'll be titled shortly and I'll edit a reply in ASAP. [html]

Sorry for the delay! As he neared, things became apparently. She was thin. Her body looked ragged, as if it had been worn down by her travels. The girl was not the same daughter he remembered. Yet her voice was as he recalled it and his face broke into a broad smile that turned him years younger. Without hesitation he moved forward and embraced her in an awkward doggish hug, rubbing his face against her as it to try and prove to himself she was real. After all the family he had lost, he needed to be reassured. The scent of her was distinct because his own scent was in it. She was his daughter and always would be. “Shhh,” he said quietly, his normally gruff voice softening (as it only did for her). “I’m fine, Tal, I’m fine. Got a few more scars, but I’m fine.” The bare places on his face still ached, but it was a small price to pay for what could have been. Gabriel was certain Haku would have killed him (or that he almost had), but he did not need to share such details with his daughter just yet. “You’re always going to be welcome here, don’t forget that.” Then he drew back, tail wagging behind him. “You look tired. How about you spend the night with me? I’ll try and round up some food for you too.” He was speaking quickly, doing his best to dissuade her from questioning anything else. She did not need to return to the horrors Inferni had seen since her departure. Not after everything she had been through. - Talitha de le Poer - 08-04-2010 [html] +5

hurfhurf There was no denying that age was encroaching on Gabriel. He was now five years old, having outlived both his father and grandfather. It was lucky, perhaps, he was half Lykoi. Without his mother’s stubborn survivalist blood in him he would have perhaps fallen as the other heads of the de le Poer house had. Granted, of course, Gabriel did not lead this house—that right belonged to a woman he had never met, and to a side of the family he would never know. Despite the age that threatened to creep in (he had not yet begun to gray) the warrior felt young again with his daughter at his side. He laughed aloud as her stomach answered for her, a deep thing that turned his body alive again. Picking up a quick trot, he began to lead her back to the second place she had ever called home (the first having long since been destroyed by his own hand). “Well I’ll see what I can find. How about you head up to the cave and get comfortable. With any luck you won’t run into your grandma,” he added, snickering. “She’d probably baby you to death if she got a hold of you.” At a place where the worn dirt trail forked, Gabriel nodded her onward and upward, and turned himself east. The aches and pains of battle were forgotten as he bounded off into the tall grass, intent on finding a decent meal. - Talitha de le Poer - 08-16-2010 [html] +3

hurfhurf Though his daughter’s voice called after him on the wind, but the Aquila had a task at hand. Every ache in his body magnified tenfold as he left her side. The bad shoulder, the left one, nearly gave out once he had passed beyond her field of vision. Haku had nearly destroyed him. More had aided him in the years before: a black wolf with dark eyes, a golden wolf larger than life, and all those who had come before, during, and after them. Those two were given the most credit. The first had cut his face open, and the second had nearly wretched his arm from its socket. Yet even around his daughter (no, especially around his daughter) Gabriel could not show his pain or his weakness. It was a ruthless, wolf-like need that demanded such a thing. Gabriel did not need to go far to find food. Inferni’s vast plains were close enough to the caves to serve as suitable hunting ground. Though he had come to prefer the northern forest, there was no time. Instead he chased after large, fat hares, though only two were caught. This number was far from what he had once been capable of. Still, they would do well enough. Carrying the beasts back in his mouth he made his way up to the slope of his den, a simple thing made out of earth that had likely formed out of the elements and been aided along the way. There were only a few simple spaces within, a main hallway that led to a large family den, a smaller offshoot for supplies, and a third “guest” area that had served several functions in its time. It was the central area he came to, where a small hearth had been made out of stones. It was close enough to suck the smoke out of the entrance, but just deep enough in to warm the space in the winter. “Sorry about that wait,” he apologized, dropping the hares to the ground. “If you don’t mind waiting longer I can try and cook them.” Unlike his father, Gabriel was hardly a master chef—cooking for him entailed essentially charring everything and leaving the insides raw. - Talitha de le Poer - 08-18-2010 [html] +5

hurfhurf He was pleased to see she did not require the thing singed. Many canines in the area had become so humanized they forgot the pleasure of eating a meal while it was still warm from life. As soon as she had spoken he gave her the two hares, objecting as she lifted her eyes to argue that he should have one. It was apparent she was starving. Gabriel did not know where she had come from, and he did not believe that now was the time to ask. Both of his children were somewhat secretive, and he respected this. He respected all of Inferni’s right to privacy unless he saw it as a threat to his clan. Above all else, Gabriel was loyal to Inferni. This was why he had almost died for it. Gabriel left her to eat in peace, taking a moment to go outside and scan the area. At his home, which was one of the higher points of the Waste, he was able to see a great deal of the territory. Despite this, he was not surprised that he did not see anyone. Inferni’s land was much larger than it had been, and most of the newer coyotes lived within the mansion. This worried Gabriel only slightly, for he recalled the damage done in the fire and dreaded what might happen if it be brought to the wooden building. “The borders have changed since you were here last,” he called back, rising to his feet. “We lost a lot of territory to a fire, but we now have a large area of the forest to the north. It’s nice up there, we don’t see wolves hardly at all. I’ll take you around…” His voice trailed off as he returned to the space. Two carcasses waited for him, and he was not surprised to see that Talitha had made her way into the large family room she had slept in as a child. Smiling warmly, the Aquila lay next to her frail body, ignoring the doubt and the worry about her condition—even now, she was breathing quickly, as if she might lose the chance to. He slowed his own breaths and after several long minutes, her pace matched his own. Once he was certain she was in a deep sleep he left, carrying the carcasses out for the ravens. One of these, in particular, seemed thrilled to know that the girl had returned. The two beasts talked for a short time before Gabriel returned to his patrol, his step now a light, happy one. His daughter was home. |
