- Clover Love Lykoi - 12-01-2010
Anyone is welcome! She had planned to read them all, word for word, so that she would be able to have an intelligent conversation about them later once he had finished reading them as well. And yet, Clover had been too eager to actually accomplish this. After gathering the five books together, she had done more than merely skim a few pages or read the first chapter. Some of them she did not understand, for they included things she did not know about. Still, she hoped that he would like them nonetheless and that was the reason now she had headed toward the pack lands. Perhaps life would have been easier had Clover come across him again along the coast that separated their homes, but she knew that was unrealistic. Her best bet was just to go directly to him, and hope that he did not find her presence there intrusive. Would he find her gift endearing, or would he think it strange she had thought about him even after their encounter? She supposed she would find out soon enough. All Clover knew was that the boy’s wonderful green eyes often popped up in her daydreams, and she was confused as to whether or not it was him, or the boy from back home. More and more she had begun to believe it was the Dahlian boy. She had been here before, though back then her senses had failed her and she had gone too far. The beautiful woman from Dahlia had, however, been kind enough to soothe Clover’s tears and offer her a meal. Had the woman found her way to Inferni, Clover was sure she would have not been met with the same kind of hospitality. This time, the young coyote was sure to stop outside of the pack’s borders. She called for Harlowe then, unsure whether or not he would respond, and then set her knapsack onto the ground. It only took her a moment to dig out the five novels - Lolita, Gone with the Wind, Lord of the Flies, The Catcher in the Rye, Fahrenheit 451 - before she cradled the books in her arms and rose to her full (yet still short) height. .clover-t49 .ooc {font-style:italic; } .clover-t49 p {padding:0px 20px 5px 20px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .clover-t49 b {color:#EAA810; letter-spacing:-.2px;} .clover-t49 {background-color:#331500; background-image:url(http://sleepyglow.net/souls/gifts/2010o ... rtable.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; padding:255px 0px 10px 0px; border:1px solid #EAA810; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#974F0C; letter-spacing:.4px; word-spacing:.3px; line-height:16px; width:425px; text-align:justify; border-radius:5px; -moz-border-radius:5px; -webkit-border-radius:5px; } .clover-t49-border {width:427px; border:1px solid #000000; margin:0 auto; border-radius:5px; -moz-border-radius:5px; -webkit-border-radius:5x; box-shadow:3px 3px 4px #2A2A2A; -moz-box-shadow:3px 3px 4px #2A2A2A; -webkit-box-shadow:3px 3px 4px #2A2A2A;} </style>
- Nayru - 12-01-2010
Weee. Nayru loves coyotes! XD 514.
Wahrer. Not just a Spaher any longer, although Nayru had been quite content with that rank as well. Her duties were the same now, except she wasn’t expected to report back to anyone and if so inclined she could accept others into Dahlia de mai. Conor trusted her it seemed, and her move to the east end of the pack seemed still a marvelous idea. To patrol the borders, it was exactly what she wanted to do anyway. Protect and serve Dahlia de Mai. And although informally they all had their eyes peeled, Nayru took her seriously. Rounds were made early morning, mid-day, right at dusk and now that was Wahrer and she hadn’t any Spahers to pick up the slack she included a round in the middle of the night as well. Nothing escaped her, for even when she did not find the physical beings herself, their scents always gave them away. She knew the gender and pack origins of every soul that came near her borders, and she knew how far into Dahlia de Mai they came, who greeted them and often she followed their scent out of the pack lands a way just to be sure they had truly gone. The borders were secure, there was no denying that. .nayr b {font-weight:bold; color:#c28085; letter-spacing:1px; } .nayr .ooc { font-style:italic; color:#ffffff; padding-top:350px; font-family:verdana, sans-serif; font-size:11px;} .nayr p {text-indent:25px; padding:5px 10px; margin:0px; color: #080202} .nayr {margin:0 auto; width:450px; background-color:#821212; background-image:url(http://i972.photobucket.com/albums/ae20 ... /nayru.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #000000; padding: 10px 0px 0px 0px; font-family: georgia, sans-serif; font-size:10px; color:#0F475F; line-height:16px; letter-spacing:.5px; text-align:justify;} </style>
- Clover Love Lykoi - 12-02-2010
While she waited, Clover nervously balanced the books in one arm and used her free hand to run her fingers through her golden hair, smoothing it. She checked her hands, making sure her rings were just so on her fingers and that her bracelets looked alright. She knew it was not smart to be this way, but she was eager to impress Harlowe. Both darkened ears were perked eagerly, waiting to catch the first sound to alert his arrival at the borders. Would he come? Would he appreciate her gifts? Clover shuffled the books from her one hand, and cradled them against her chest with the other arm. Instantly, the girl beamed at the sound of foot fall. Straw eyes watched the surrounding area, watching for movement. When she detected the form of another, her smile faltered slightly. It was not the cream and seal-point boy she had been hoping to see, but rather a black and white young woman Clover did not know. She could only hope the lady wasn’t here to scold her, and send her off on her way. After all, Dahlia wasn’t particularly known for its pleasant relationship with Inferni. "Oh, hi there," her soft voice chimed, while her eyes studied the vibrant crimson that stared back. She suddenly felt very vulnerable and somewhat foolish for being there, and was glad her tawny fur veiled the light blush along her cheeks. "I was just looking for someone." Had the woman realized the call had been meant for Harlowe? She figured it didn’t hurt to ask. "Um, do you know if Harlowe is around, by chance?" The more she stood there, anticipating the arrival of her dumb crush, the more Clover was beginning to feel like a naïve puppy. .clover-t49 .ooc {font-style:italic; } .clover-t49 p {padding:0px 20px 5px 20px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .clover-t49 b {color:#EAA810; letter-spacing:-.2px;} .clover-t49 {background-color:#331500; background-image:url(http://sleepyglow.net/souls/gifts/2010o ... rtable.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; padding:255px 0px 10px 0px; border:1px solid #EAA810; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#974F0C; letter-spacing:.4px; word-spacing:.3px; line-height:16px; width:425px; text-align:justify; border-radius:5px; -moz-border-radius:5px; -webkit-border-radius:5px; } .clover-t49-border {width:427px; border:1px solid #000000; margin:0 auto; border-radius:5px; -moz-border-radius:5px; -webkit-border-radius:5x; box-shadow:3px 3px 4px #2A2A2A; -moz-box-shadow:3px 3px 4px #2A2A2A; -webkit-box-shadow:3px 3px 4px #2A2A2A;} </style>
- Nayru - 12-08-2010
304.
Nayru’s own smile did not falter as she came up, despite the slight disappointment her presence caused for the other. The stranger was young, polite and soft spoken, not too unlike herself, and it did not take but a matter of moments for her to confess the manner of her call, although Nayru had known it all along. Nayru was not Harlowe, that was for certain, and to make matters worse the black and white girl didn’t know where the tawny boy was either. She doubted he would answer though, his scent had been scarce lately and she hadn’t heard any word about him either. It was likely that he had followed Larkspur after the brute had been vanished, and although her assumption was likely true she did not take this as fact. Nor did she say so, because she had no wish to mislead the coyote if Harlowe had not followed Larkspur, and where Larkspur had gone Nayru didn’t even have a guess. .nayr b {font-weight:bold; color:#c28085; letter-spacing:1px; } .nayr .ooc { font-style:italic; color:#ffffff; padding-top:350px; font-family:verdana, sans-serif; font-size:11px;} .nayr p {text-indent:25px; padding:5px 10px; margin:0px; color: #080202} .nayr {margin:0 auto; width:450px; background-color:#821212; background-image:url(http://i972.photobucket.com/albums/ae20 ... /nayru.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #000000; padding: 10px 0px 0px 0px; font-family: georgia, sans-serif; font-size:10px; color:#0F475F; line-height:16px; letter-spacing:.5px; text-align:justify;} </style>
- Clover Love Lykoi - 12-09-2010
Clover held the books tighter to her chest, for she now not only did she feel strangely vulnerable, but she also felt somewhat fragile. The news that the stranger offered her was not particularly pleasant, and by clinging to the books Clover held on to her composure. She had not seen or heard from Harlowe? Was he even still here? She should have known to be quicker with her gift giving, but the girl had taken her time identifying her feelings and then deciding whether or not her gesture was too much. Either way, she was beginning to feel slightly heartbroken. If Harlowe was not here in Dahlia de Mai, then where would he be? The girl had absolutely no idea where to even begin looking. "I was just here to give him these," Clover responded, her voice light and airy, for she was afraid if she spoke any louder it might break with emotion. The other woman could probably easily detect Clover’s disappointment, but Clover felt no need to disguise it. She lifted the books away from her frame somewhat, as if to clarify what her words meant, before holding them again tightly to her chest. She wasn’t sure if it was right for her to ask, but she figured somehow that Nayru wouldn’t mind. Either way, Clover needed to know. "Does he still live here?" Her straw eyes lifted from the ground between them and found the woman’s vibrant crimson gaze again, searching for the subtle hints in her features that could clearly answer Clover’s question without the need for words. .clover-t49 .ooc {font-style:italic; } .clover-t49 p {padding:0px 20px 5px 20px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .clover-t49 b {color:#EAA810; letter-spacing:-.2px;} .clover-t49 {background-color:#331500; background-image:url(http://sleepyglow.net/souls/gifts/2010o ... rtable.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; padding:255px 0px 10px 0px; border:1px solid #EAA810; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#974F0C; letter-spacing:.4px; word-spacing:.3px; line-height:16px; width:425px; text-align:justify; border-radius:5px; -moz-border-radius:5px; -webkit-border-radius:5px; } .clover-t49-border {width:427px; border:1px solid #000000; margin:0 auto; border-radius:5px; -moz-border-radius:5px; -webkit-border-radius:5x; box-shadow:3px 3px 4px #2A2A2A; -moz-box-shadow:3px 3px 4px #2A2A2A; -webkit-box-shadow:3px 3px 4px #2A2A2A;} </style>
- Nayru - 12-15-2010
378. Ruby eyes strayed to the books clutched by the coyote. Gifts? Books. Nayru thought of the book she had given Aro. It has been something on stars and the universe. It had been nothing really, a gesture of good will between one friend and another. Yet it seemed more with this stranger and Harlowe. She seemed on edge, nervous of his arrival and when it did not come dissatisfied at his absence. Nayru could recognize the small signs of romance, even if she could not relate to them herself. She saw them between Conor and Bris, she saw them in Saluce when he spoke of Layla, but she did not seem them in herself and certainly not in relation to any male. She was at once envious of this woman and her feelings, and also sorry for her. For even if the tawny creature felt something Nayru could not, she would also probably suffer for it at some point. .nayr b {font-weight:bold; color:#c28085; letter-spacing:1px; } .nayr .ooc { font-style:italic; color:#ffffff; padding-top:350px; font-family:verdana, sans-serif; font-size:11px;} .nayr p {text-indent:25px; padding:5px 10px; margin:0px; color: #080202} .nayr {margin:0 auto; width:450px; background-color:#821212; background-image:url(http://i972.photobucket.com/albums/ae20 ... /nayru.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #000000; padding: 10px 0px 0px 0px; font-family: georgia, sans-serif; font-size:10px; color:#0F475F; line-height:16px; letter-spacing:.5px; text-align:justify;} </style>
- Clover Love Lykoi - 12-15-2010
-- She knew even before the other girl answered that she would not hold the response Clover was looking for. Harlowe was not here anymore, and it seemed highly likely that he would not be coming back. Somehow, Clover had managed to miss Harlowe and by doing so had completely stunted any chance she had had with the young male. Unless she was lucky enough to locate the boy on her own by chance, the reality of her gift giving and the possible reciprocation of feelings would not be realized. She could feel her heart starting to ache and held the books closer to her chest, as if it would dull the pain. The words Nayru spoke about his uncle did not help Clover any, but she still appreciated the woman’s attempt at trying to help her. She shrugged softly then, as if to suggest that Harlowe’s absence was no big deal, but she doubted if her gesture was believable. Clover would go on to find a new crush, as adolescents often do, but at the moment her world seemed desolate. She really had no other business at the borders of the wolf pack, but she did not turn to leave merely because the other had decided to offer her name. Brushing back a stray strand of burnt ochre hair, Clover responded in a soft voice, "Clover Lykoi." It had been the first time she had used her given surname, and she was not sure why it slipped out now. To be polite, as was her usual manner, she added, "It’s nice to meet you." .cloverlovenever .ooc {font-style:italic; } .cloverlovenever p {padding:0px 20px 5px 20px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .cloverlovenever b {color:#212e45; letter-spacing:-.2px;} .cloverlovenever {background-color:#ba78a6; background-image:url(http://anna.sleepyglow.net/images/souls ... enever.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; padding:245px 0px 10px 0px; border:1px solid #ffffff; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#26191f; letter-spacing:.4px; word-spacing:.3px; line-height:16px; width:496px; text-align:justify; border-radius:5px; -moz-border-radius:5px; -webkit-border-radius:5px; } .cloverlovenever-border {width:498px; border:1px solid #000000; margin:0 auto; border-radius:5px; -moz-border-radius:5px; -webkit-border-radius:5x; box-shadow:3px 3px 4px #2A2A2A; -moz-box-shadow:3px 3px 4px #2A2A2A; -webkit-box-shadow:3px 3px 4px #2A2A2A;} </style>
- Nayru - 12-20-2010
395. Nayru smiled at the girl, Clover Lykoi, with her manners polite and unassuming. The ebony and ivory girl was aware that Clover probably didn’t intend on spending much time chit chatting at the borders with a stranger. That certainly hadn’t been why she had come, yet Nayru had little else to do just then and she lingered there, eating up the energy that Clover had brought with her. Those who came to the borders were different than those who dwelled inside the pack, and it was not just their behaviors, the tone of their voices. They were different. Something inside them was different, although the difference was not a perverse one. Their life force was simply made of blood, different experiences and Nayru could sense that. Nayru relished in it. .nayr b {font-weight:bold; color:#c28085; letter-spacing:1px; } .nayr .ooc { font-style:italic; color:#ffffff; padding-top:350px; font-family:verdana, sans-serif; font-size:11px;} .nayr p {text-indent:25px; padding:5px 10px; margin:0px; color: #080202} .nayr {margin:0 auto; width:450px; background-color:#821212; background-image:url(http://i972.photobucket.com/albums/ae20 ... /nayru.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #000000; padding: 10px 0px 0px 0px; font-family: georgia, sans-serif; font-size:10px; color:#0F475F; line-height:16px; letter-spacing:.5px; text-align:justify;} </style>
- Clover Love Lykoi - 12-21-2010
+3 After their introductions, she had expected to go on her way. It was obvious that she had come here with a clear purpose in mind, and now that it had been defeated, there was not much left for Clover. And yet, it seemed as if the other female wanted to prolong their encounter. Really, Clover didn’t mind too much, since she was usually always thrilled to meet someone new, though she had been slightly disheartened at the news that Harlowe was not there. Still, she did her best to remain positive and polite to Nayru, for the girl had been nothing less in response. The question caught her only slightly off guard, for she was unsure of how to answer. Had they been friends and Nayru known of Clover’s life as a loner, she would have had something to compare Inferni to. However, it would be hard to explain the differences in much depth to someone who did not know much of Clover’s past. "Inferni?" She repeated softly, letting images of her clan’s lands twirl through her head. She offered a slight shrug, though all the while keeping the books held close to her chest. "It’s different then what I’ve known before, but I like it there." Clover had joined after war had raged between her clan and the pack whose doorstep she stood at now, and so things had been relatively quiet and peaceful for Inferni. "I guess it’s just like living anywhere else," Clover added vaguely. She wasn’t sure exactly what the black and white female had been looking for in a response. "I have a lot of family there," she went on to explain, "and that’s comforting." Other than that, she did really know a lot about the other members of the clan. Clover was a free spirit, after all, so she didn’t feel bound by the expectations of her clan. She still wandered as she pleased, and she could never be the poster child of Inferni. .cloverlovenever .ooc {font-style:italic; } .cloverlovenever p {padding:0px 20px 5px 20px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .cloverlovenever b {color:#212e45; letter-spacing:-.2px;} .cloverlovenever {background-color:#ba78a6; background-image:url(http://anna.sleepyglow.net/images/souls ... enever.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; padding:245px 0px 10px 0px; border:1px solid #ffffff; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#26191f; letter-spacing:.4px; word-spacing:.3px; line-height:16px; width:496px; text-align:justify; border-radius:5px; -moz-border-radius:5px; -webkit-border-radius:5px; } .cloverlovenever-border {width:498px; border:1px solid #000000; margin:0 auto; border-radius:5px; -moz-border-radius:5px; -webkit-border-radius:5x; box-shadow:3px 3px 4px #2A2A2A; -moz-box-shadow:3px 3px 4px #2A2A2A; -webkit-box-shadow:3px 3px 4px #2A2A2A;} </style>
- Nayru - 12-25-2010
442. “Oh.” Clover's response was quite different than the one Razekiel had given her. He had told the child it was a dark place, but even then Nayru had never really carried that image around in her head. Surely Inferni wasn't so bad, how then could they persist in such numbers that they did? Unless all of it's inhabitants were dark. But Razekiel wasn't and Clover certainly didn't seem so. “ I suppose it would be like living anywhere else.” Why wouldn't it be? The land was no so varied. Coyotes weren't much different than wolves. There wasn't any real reason for it to be any different than Dahlia de Mai. .nayr b {font-weight:bold; color:#c28085; letter-spacing:1px; } .nayr .ooc { font-style:italic; color:#ffffff; padding-top:350px; font-family:verdana, sans-serif; font-size:11px;} .nayr p {text-indent:25px; padding:5px 10px; margin:0px; color: #080202} .nayr {margin:0 auto; width:450px; background-color:#821212; background-image:url(http://i972.photobucket.com/albums/ae20 ... /nayru.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #000000; padding: 10px 0px 0px 0px; font-family: georgia, sans-serif; font-size:10px; color:#0F475F; line-height:16px; letter-spacing:.5px; text-align:justify;} </style>
- Clover Love Lykoi - 01-03-2011
Thanks for the thread! I'll go ahead and archive this. SSWM: 501 Her simple one word answer raised some question in Clover. Had Nayru been expecting Clover to respond differently? She wouldn’t have been surprised, since Inferni after all had its reputation. Clover had been lucky to not see much of the horror. Since the land of coyotes was at relative peace with its surrounding packs, Clover had been spared the sight of war. Unlike her sisters, who had shown up in the midst of battle something during the summer, Clover had arrived in the fall when the raging of war had finally come to an end. She could only hope that in her time here, she would not come to witness any of the fighting. Of course, aside from the fighting there was still things that characterized Inferni as the least of friendly places. Their skull marked border, for one, only attributed to the biases people already held against them. Perhaps Clover couldn’t really blame them. She had never really felt a deep connection to the clan. At least, not in the same way she had to Juniper Peace. And yet, it was were her family resided, and so it seemed the only logical place for her to stay at the moment. Had things with Harlowe worked out, perhaps she would have considered moving into Dahlia de Mai. But as it was, it seemed the Dahlian boy had moved on and Clover was left with nothing more than an armful of books. "Oh yes, it was very nice to meet you too, hun. Thanks for the help," She hugged the books closer to her chest, letting one arm cradle them there while her free hand went to brush away loose burnt ochre strands that had fallen to obscure her vision. Tucking them back, the white headband became more visible. "Well, have yourself a lovely day," Clover concluded, turning then to head back where she had come from. The disappointment of not being able to locate the boy hung thick in a cloud around her, but she tried to remain slightly positive if at all possible. Just because Harlowe wasn’t in Dahlia de Mai, didn’t mean that he wasn’t close by. There could still be the chance that she could come across him again (perhaps near the last place they had seen on another) and give him his gifts then. A slight sigh escaped past parted teeth, and Clover left the border of the wolf pack behind her. The trek back to Inferni’s lands would not take long, and yet she didn’t feel the need to rush home either. Her heart was heavy, and perhaps she’d find herself taking a rest from her trek home along the shore, and maybe she’d crack open one of the books to read the beginning lines of the story it held, the stories she had wanted to give to Harlowe. Most intriguing, of course, was the mint colored book with the golden script written along the front. Perhaps she dive into the world of Lolita after all. .cloverlovenever .ooc {font-style:italic; } .cloverlovenever p {padding:0px 20px 5px 20px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .cloverlovenever b {color:#212e45; letter-spacing:-.2px;} .cloverlovenever {background-color:#ba78a6; background-image:url(http://anna.sleepyglow.net/images/souls ... enever.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; padding:245px 0px 10px 0px; border:1px solid #ffffff; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#26191f; letter-spacing:.4px; word-spacing:.3px; line-height:16px; width:496px; text-align:justify; border-radius:5px; -moz-border-radius:5px; -webkit-border-radius:5px; } .cloverlovenever-border {width:498px; border:1px solid #000000; margin:0 auto; border-radius:5px; -moz-border-radius:5px; -webkit-border-radius:5x; box-shadow:3px 3px 4px #2A2A2A; -moz-box-shadow:3px 3px 4px #2A2A2A; -webkit-box-shadow:3px 3px 4px #2A2A2A;} </style>
|
