- Shiloh Dawnbringer - 12-19-2010
Needles here, needles there. Pine needles everywhere! Shiloh could not avoid stepping into them, and while they provided a cover from the dirt, they often pricked the pads on her feet. As the young white damsel made her way through the forest, attempting to side-step each brown needle without much success. The sounds of a stream were nearby, and without much more of a direction to take, she followed it. She ducked under a low-swinging branch, but as she went to regain her standing position, the tree limb caught part of her cream-colored hair, and the lily tucked behind her ear. "Ah!" She squealed out of surprise, moving to untangle herself from the branch. When she did, she watched as her decorative flower fell to the ground, its beautiful pink petals torn by the movements Shiloh created. Her eyes widened, her features displaying every ounce of sadness that could be mustered. Crouching down to pick the flower up, she held it as if it were something precious she just lost. "The forest is no place for a wolf!" She exclaimed into the wintry air, cupping the lily as she looked down upon it with a look of mourning. Shiloh didn't notice any lilies growing around her, and an even bigger pout formed on her countenance. "Now I'm gonna have to find a new one.." She grumbled, sighing deeply and almost a little too dramatically. But then her ears perked up, and the sounds of music drifted through the nippy air. It was soft, and sweet, almost too good to be real. And for a moment, it sounded as if it was meant for Shiloh herself, to make her forget about her worries that the forest seemed to be creating for her. Curiosity got the best of the young wolf, and she followed the stream towards the sound, still gingerly holding her precious hairpiece. She stopped when a figure of mixed grays walked along a small clearing, seemingly engrossed in her task, concentrating on pushing air through her instrument to produce music. Shi's cerulean eyes softened, loving the sound that the stranger was producing, and simply stood there, against a snow-laced tree, listening intently. - China Rose Lykoi - 12-19-2010
ooc: hell yeeeeee wc: 300+
- Shiloh Dawnbringer - 12-20-2010
The young damsel kept on watching the female, and closed her own perfect blue eyes for a moment to lose herself into the music. She wasn't sure exactly how it was being produced, only that she knew no one had ever played an instrument like that before that she'd heard of. Shi was never around the right kind of wolves who played instruments at all, so to her they were magical, mysterious things. As she opened her eyes, the music seemed to stop wafting into the air at the same time, and another pair of lapis-colored eyes stared back at her. "Hello there, lovey." Shiloh heard the female say, with a voice that was as lyrical as the music she had produced not moments ago. The white female gazed on, the music still lingering within her well-shaped, cream-colored ears. The looks of this female were without a doubt coyote-like, but Shiloh wondered if, for a moment, she was part of Inferni. "Oh, hello, miss." Shiloh returned the greeting, remembering almost instantly that she was staring. The white damsel was lost in thought, though, wondering how the small pipe in the gray coyote's hand made such lovely sounds. She averted her eyes and shook her head. 'No, impossible, no one that nice could come from Inferni,' she told herself. The next question from the strange female caught Shiloh off guard. The white and cream female didn't realize she was displaying such emotions of sadness, but it was too late to try and lie about it. "It's my hair piece," she said quickly, opening her hand which contained the torn petals of a lily flower. "I was walking by, minding my own business, when a darn tree limb caught it!" She pouted, blaming the forest for her little mistake. Cerulean eyes gazed on the blue flower that was in the other female's hair, which was a surprising shade of blue, but it was shriveling up into nothing. "Why are you wearing a dying flower?" Shiloh inquired, pushing back locks of cream-colored hair. - China Rose Lykoi - 12-20-2010
ooc: awwww Shi <3 wc: 300+
- Shiloh Dawnbringer - 01-01-2011
The cerulean eyes of the young white damsel studied the coyote before her, whose expressions showed an air of peace, and her eyes expressed either a passivity or an acceptance of everything put before her. It was strange to Shiloh, this stranger had seemed friendly, but the cream and white furred female wasn't used to females being so kind. She had never been shown such kindness outside of her own family members, even. Her own ears twitched with skepticism as she watched the gray female look at the torn up lily in her perfectly-white palm, as if trying to watch for anything that might have seemed suspicious. But Shi never received an answer about the forest destroying her head decoration, and her own brows furrowed in confusion when she saw that the coyote did the same. The laugh she produced was like the song of a robin's, but Shiloh's lips were pursed, not really satisfied with the answer she was given about a dead flower. She did was she was told to do, however, and her eyes moved down to the petals of the shriveling blue flower. It was a pretty color, sure, but Shi could not see what was so pretty when the plant wasn't alive; the petals rich and full, stretching out gracefully in all directions, and the whole of it displaying elegant colors from the center outwards. Shiloh seemed to be lost in thought, however, as she kept her gaze on the flower. It took her a moment after the coyote introduced herself, that she blinked up into beautiful Lapis Lazuli eyes. 'How rude of me,' Shiloh thought to herself. The Dawnbringer female was completely caught up in finding a new decorative hair piece that she had forgotten her own manners. "Oh, I'm sorry," the white damsel said sincerely, her voice heavy with apology. "Shiloh Dawnbringer," Shi said, smiling. "That's quite an interesting na--," But she cut herself short, and thought the other introduced herself as a Lykoi. Shiloh's eyes widened suddenly. "A Lykoi! Then you must be part of Inferni," Shiloh said quickly, cerulean eyes glistening with memories of when she herself was in Inferni with her father. The female had remembered hearing about the Lykoi family, and a few members of the line, but only briefly. Shiloh continued, not even stopping to think that the female may have been part of another pack, or even just a lone coyote. "Perhaps you've heard of my father, Dreyrugr." The pristine white female forgot all about her lily, there were plenty of more flowers for her to pick from in the forest that she now found herself in, with this multi-colored female. Shiloh dropped the pink flower from her own hand, letting it drift and fall to the cold, snowy forest floor. Shiloh tucked strands of cream-colored hair behind her ears of the same hue, looking upon China expectantly. She wondered if the Lykoi woman knew of her father, and if he was alright. Even though the female hadn't been gone from her father for long, to return home, her heart belonged in two places. - China Rose Lykoi - 01-02-2011
wc: 3+ SoSuWriMo: 411
- Shiloh Dawnbringer - 01-03-2011
The white damsel was a bit shocked when the coyote went and burst out her own name, as if it was a name she knew already. Her cerulean eyes studied the strange, flower-loving, flute-playing female before her, ears twitching in thought. Shi couldn't quite put a claw on this other female, as to why she loved nature so, or why she seemed so carefree, and why it seemed like everything she said was the down to earth truth. Then again, there were several strange wolves, but it wasn't like Shiloh had anything to worry about around China. She seemed like she could trust her, and hold onto every word she said. Which the Dawnbringer female was doing just then, her eyes filled with hope that this Lykoi girl might recognize her father. How she missed him, even though their time apart has been brief. Shiloh knew she might not ever see him again, and damned if she had to step foot into Inferni again. Everything she knew about that place, or what she cared to remember, was the dirty, filthy wolf skulls and the mean glances she always got from others. Of course, her father had been right there to shield her, and to give the stare of death at anyone who was even thinking about attacking his only daughter. Sadly, Shiloh's shoulders slumped with disappointment, and the hope in her face vanished in an instant, like a snowstorm which covered every bit of green grass. "Worth a shot," she said, her voice filled with what sounded like defeat. Shiloh wondered if her father was okay, even though she knew he'd be fine. A part of her wondered if he'd ever come to visit her and her brothers, his sons, back in Dahlia. Or, maybe, if she was with her brothers and felt brave enough, if they'd go see him. Maybe some day.. Shiloh blinked when she saw an outstretched hand coming towards her, and she looked down at it, then back at the Lykoi woman. A new flower did sound nice, especially after the horrid forest ripped her other one up, and with help from someone who thought a dead flower was beautiful, Shiloh hoped she'd at least get one with petals that weren't threatening to break apart. The pristine female's perfectly white hand lifted hesitantly, then placed it atop the smaller gray one, and nodded. She shivered at the part of the Inferni tales she'd have to tell, but somehow she believed China would understand. It almost felt like she could sit and tell the coyote female anything, though they hardly knew one another. Words came from a voice so soothing, that having to recall what she knew of Inferni was overpowered by finding a new hair piece, and talking about her father. "Sounds great," she told the other female in a voice full of honesty, and strange sureness. - China Rose Lykoi - 01-08-2011
wc: 3+ SoSuWriMo: 362
- Shiloh Dawnbringer - 01-15-2011
680 words. It's too bad that Shiloh's character hardly knows anything of Drey. XD Not only did the two females in the Dampwoods that day look different, but inwardly they seemed very much unrelated. One was a nature loving, free for all persona, who had an airy tone and a peaceful demeanor. The other was a pristine princess, nearly feeling like the world revolved around her, and everything had to go her way - perfect. And yet Shiloh felt drawn to this female, possibly because she had very little female interaction in her young life. The mother of the four Stormbringer children passed before she could make a real impact in her childrens' life, and the closest Shiloh really had was her aunt. But Bris was busy becoming a mother, and so Shiloh did not bother her all that much since she returned to Dahlia. So why did the white damsel find this female, almost her complete opposite in manners and beliefs, so intriguing? Cerulean eyes gleamed over with these thoughts, unable to explain why the airy attitude of the coyote drew her in. If only the Dawnbringer female knew of the phrase "opposites attract", everything would have made perfect sense. She focused on the coyote in front of her, having plenty of questions to ask, but she wasn't going to be rude and un-lady-like and start blurting everything that came to mind. The hand underneath her own felt light, and as she walked side by side with the coyote, she scented the earth and the air in her fur. They were closely matched in height, Shi noticed, as the darker colored female seemed to know her way through the forest. Like a mother bird who flew far from her nest, to find food for her young, still able to make her way past all the similar looking trees to where she needed to be. That is what China was doing now, leading the young damsel to somewhere she may or may not know. Little did Shiloh know about the earth's children, who regarded the forest in a different light. Several shades of light filtered through the trees, and Shiloh subconsciously focused her bright blue eyes to her elegant feet, to be sure she knew where they was walking. Her muzzle pointed upwards toward the female at her side, suddenly focusing on thoughts of her father instead of where they were heading. "Oh," the white female said quietly, almost surprised that this coyote, nearly a stranger, was interested in her past. She took a deep breath, and began to speak, mottled light playing over her form. "Dreyrugr, he lives in Inferni. I was there with him not long ago, before I returned to Dahlia." She turned her gaze away from the female for a moment, as if she was choosing her words carefully. "My brothers were with us, too, for a while, but they all made their way back sooner.." And then, a small giggle bubbled in her perfectly white throat. "Guess I'm daddy's little girl," she said, bright eyes looking at the ebony coyote beside her. The chirping of birds seemed to fade away further into the skies, and Shiloh turned her head upwards. A fluttering of several butterflies now came into view of the two females, several different shapes, sizes, and colors adorning the air. Shiloh's lips parted for a moment, taking in the serene scene, watching as more and more seemed to emerged from out of nowhere. Looking over again to the nature loving coyote, Shi looked surprised, as if shocked that she hadn't finished answering the other. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to put you on the spot.. but when you said Inferni, I--" Shiloh's throat closed up then, and she turned her eyes away from the Lykoi girl. "I just miss him," she said quietly into the air, eyes flickering back to the butterflies. "They're beautiful," Shiloh commented, not having seen so many of the insects in one place before. They may have been insects with large eyes and little crawly feet, but from a distance they were gorgeous, with several patterns and colors that painted their wings. .shilohlily .ooc {font-style:italic; } .shilohlily p {padding:2px 20px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .shilohlily b {color:#e493bb; letter-spacing:-.2px; } .shilohlily {background-image:url(http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/7049/s ... ytable.png); background-position:bottom center; background-color: #6c5042; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:2px solid #42272a; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#ececec; text-shadow: 1px 1px 1px #3a2b32; letter-spacing:.4px; word-spacing:.3px; line-height:16px; width:368px; text-align:justify; padding:10px 0px 270px 0px; } </style> - China Rose Lykoi - 01-15-2011
aww, poor shiloh <3 long prattling post warning! slight pp, i hope you don't mind ;;

Wew, you made this thread lucky! Also, I just noticed the cute silhouette of the bug on your table! -pokes it- No one could have, or would have guessed that the white damsel and the silvery earthchild would share some sort of connection. They had a love for pretty things, but through the Lapis Lazuli's of the clay and silver colored woman, she saw beauty even in death. Whereas the Dawnbringer female hardly liked to hunt, for the fact that she would have to kill something, and smell the rotting stench and feel all that blood drip down her muzzle. The mere thought made her shiver, but she was glad for being a Luperci. Being able to kill things without touching them, and having the fingers to make fire and cook meat - it felt like a blessing she didn't know who to thank for. Yet the coyote beside her seemed to understand. She didn't seem like the type to do anything one didn't want to do, which was fine by the white and cream hued female. Despite wearing her emotions on her sleeve, and the conversation always driving to her, it seemed like China did not mind. Shiloh was nearly taken aback by this.. what kind of life did this coyote live, from Inferni of all places, to be so passive.. so gentle? Shi never remembered anyone from that pack like China. Had her father Drey not been around to protect his one and only princess, she more wolf than coyote, she'd have been torn to pieces. There she felt like she stuck out like a sore thumb, being perfectly white and proper, but in Dahlia she could be who she really was. "Ah!" Shiloh squeaked, as she was suddenly tugged forward. At first she was taken by surprise at the gesture, having been lost in her thoughts, as the silver and clay coyote pulled her towards a destination. The earthchild seemed to know where she was going, as if the butterflies that hovered around them had given China a sign. "Where--?" But she was cut off by China's more insistent tone, and slight irritation was evident as she flicked her ears. It disappeared just as her hand was left to trail into the air, the earthy female pushing ahead happily. Shiloh watched as she pushed past some bramble rather quickly, and her upper lip curled for a moment. The pristine female took her time to push through the dry brush, which didn't look at all appealing, but the scene past it made it worth it to cross. Flowers came in waves of color, each shade flowing into different hues, molding and coming together in a bunch that didn't allow for the ground which they grew on to be seen. Cerulean eyes brightened as she bathed her gaze in the scenery, her happiness showing. Butterflies helped the scene as they lightly touched upon the petals of several flowers, their wings a stark contrast upon the pastel colored flora. Silence hung in the air between the two females, trying to come over the shock of the beauty that the forest dwellers led them to. "I-- but.. how did you know?" She said, reluctant to tear her eyes from the flowers to her new friend. Wonderment shone in her cerulean orbs, almost not wanting to believe that this female was so at one with the earth that she picked up the faintest signs. It was like the butterflies whispered to the earthchild as they fluttered above them, telling the two forest visitors of their secret. .shilohlily .ooc {font-style:italic; } .shilohlily p {padding:2px 20px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .shilohlily b {color:#e493bb; letter-spacing:-.2px; } .shilohlily {background-image:url(http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/7049/s ... ytable.png); background-position:bottom center; background-color: #6c5042; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:2px solid #42272a; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#ececec; text-shadow: 1px 1px 1px #3a2b32; letter-spacing:.4px; word-spacing:.3px; line-height:16px; width:368px; text-align:justify; padding:10px 0px 270px 0px; } </style> - China Rose Lykoi - 01-15-2011
olololo, ilu

Listening to Jon McLaughlin made me write this post <3 The silvery coyote beside the damsel smiled almost knowingly, as if she knew this secret, enchanted place was here the entire time. She looked into the eyes of the smug Lapis Lazuli, then back at the scene. She found her perfectly white muzzle agape, bathing in the scenes of different colors and fluttering butterfly wings. It was simply beautiful, and why the frost hadn't taken it away she did not know. Truthfully, Shiloh didn't care, for it was all there, every type and color to choose from. Ears flicked happily, almost not feeling as the coyote slipped her dainty hand in hers, taking in the forests hidden treasure. All of her worries drifted away, as a butterfly flitted near her very eyes. She blinked back, a bit surprised, and looked to China as she began to speak again. This was... a gift? For.. her? Shiloh looked on with confusion towards the silver and clay earthchild, but there was not a hint of sarcasm or doubt in the other woman's voice or face. The pristine female studied the coyote, as she seemed to scan the sea of flowers, looking for one particular treasure. And, like a bee buzzing for pollen, she dove and spun into the heart of the Earthmother herself, laughter filling the air along with the aromatic scents that already surrounded them. She wondered how the lithe, carefree female was able to dive through the waves of petals, without so much as stirring them like a gentle breeze. Like an insect who picked just the right flower to land upon, China too knelt down to pluck one from the middle of the colorful bunch, though it was hidden from Shiloh's view. The white and cream colored female watched as her opposite flitted, like a butterfly, back towards her, revealing from her delicate hands to a more delicate treasure. The petals were soft and rounded, even without the Dawnbringer female having to touch them. Cerulean eyes sparkled as she observed it, splashes of light orange drifting into soft whites, like peaches and cream. Shiloh found it even more beautiful as the butterfly that fluttered close to her face earlier now perched atop the treasure - what would soon be her new hair piece. "It's perfect," she said, her voice straining above a whisper. Shiloh was too afraid that if she spoke any louder, she'd scare the butterfly away, but still she chanced it as both her hands stretched out to grab the object. She retracted a bit as the butterfly saw the incoming shadow of fingers, and drifted off gracefully. Shi watched it go, before turning her bright blue eyes on the flower. Gently she scooped it up from China's hands, noticing not a speck of dirt on the flower despite where it once grew. Inspecting it further, just to be sure, she shined it up into the mottled light of the forest, before moving her hands that held the flower up to her left ear, gently tucking it behind cream colored locks. When it was adjusted in a way Shiloh felt was comfortable, she let her hands fall once more. "Well? How do I look?" She said sweetly, a smile directed towards the female, like a bee who brought its queen a bit of honey. She looked behind the silvery female onto the flowered world once more, almost wishing there was a nearby pool for her to take a look at herself. Of course, that was also a dangerous thing.. for Shiloh might have stayed there fixing herself for hours. Something clicked in the young white female's mind, then, as if she had forgotten something. Eyes fluttered back to the Lapis Lazuli gaze before her, looking on curiously. "What was that instrument you were playing, earlier?" Shiloh was intensely curious how a small stick could produce the music that she heard before she met the female. It seemed that, at every moment, there was something new to learn from this silvery coyote. .shilohlily .ooc {font-style:italic; } .shilohlily p {padding:2px 20px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .shilohlily b {color:#e493bb; letter-spacing:-.2px; } .shilohlily {background-image:url(http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/7049/s ... ytable.png); background-position:bottom center; background-color: #6c5042; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:2px solid #42272a; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#ececec; text-shadow: 1px 1px 1px #3a2b32; letter-spacing:.4px; word-spacing:.3px; line-height:16px; width:368px; text-align:justify; padding:10px 0px 270px 0px; } </style> - China Rose Lykoi - 01-17-2011
<33 !

Is it bad that I already thought of the title for our next thread? ;o The flower was what had connected them both for a brief moment, more than either of the women had perceived. It wasn't just the acceptance of a simple flower - it was the acceptance of another, a completely different persona. A new world, a new life unlike what the other was used to. Yin met Yang, swirling and forming in a delicate balance, as Shi's pure colored hands grazed darker ones. To Shiloh, the flower was perfect, the whole environment surrounding them was perfect. If only she knew that nothing was what it seemed, to her, but it was merely the damsel's opinion. Some came to love the world and its inhabitants for their small imperfections, while others had to have everything in their unnatural state - of what was called perfection. As her cerulean eyes beamed at the silvery female after placing the flower in her hair, which nearly matched in color, she thought the piece that was missing from her was complete. Perfect. A smile graced her perfectly white muzzle, with the expected comment from the silvery coyote. "Thank you." If only there was a pool of water nearby, or a mirror, or something for her to gaze into her own reflection. It would have to wait, though, as the Dawnbringer female hung on the words of China's. Eyes roved over to the Lykoi woman's hands, then, watching as she drew out the reed pipe as if it were her own flower, her own little piece of perfection. It was smaller than Shi had imagined, and she couldn't help but lean her head in to take a closer look. China took that moment to turn it over, so that her own bright blue oceans could take in all sides of the instrument. Shiloh drew her cream striped head back as the silvery female put the small pipe to her lips, and began to produce sweet music, filling the air with the pleasant sounds. The young woman stepped back for a moment, as China began to play, and found a nearby rock to perch herself upon, looking between her and the butterflies that seemed to dance along. A hum began to form in her own throat, and she closed her eyes to truly listen to the music. Shiloh did indeed love music, and secretly she would sing out loud to no one but herself. The young female was far too afraid to sing in front of everyone else, but she could hum - like anyone else could. Her heart beat in time with the tune from the reed pipe, humming only softly so as not to disturb the coyote and her flute playing. .shiloh-lilysun .ooc {font-style:italic; } .shiloh-lilysun p {padding:2px 20px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .shiloh-lilysun b {color:#e7c9e3; text-shadow: 2px 1px 1px #000000; letter-spacing:-.2px; } .shiloh-lilysun {background-image:url(http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/8360/shilohlilysun.png); background-position:bottom center; background-color: #fbf6e6; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #000000; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#a96f64; letter-spacing:.4px; word-spacing:.3px; line-height:16px; width:475px; text-align:justify; padding:10px 0px 270px 0px; } </style> |
