The Angela's pup rarely left the confines of the caves except for when he had to find a bush to relieve himself, and even then he never went outside without the cover of dark to shroud him. The sun... he suspected the sun of treachery. It was so bright and warm that the boy was certain it was made of fire, and if it had the power to light up the world it had the power to reach down and singe him... or worse. But now, for some reason, the shadowy pup had trotted out of one of the entrances he knew well... at the break of dawn. And why? Well the reason was simple... he was trying to remember something, and needed to jog his memory, for he wanted to imagine it exactly as it had happened. Now the pup found himself up on a ledge, the very ledge he and Juju used to play upon, the same one that the boys warred over the day they witnessed the just killing of the Inferni trespasser. The memory came to him when he was in that slothful state just between slumber and consciousness, and it had jolted him upright. The memory did not frighten the boy, but intrigued him, and he wanted to seek it further. But the last time he was up here he was much smaller. The narrow path to the ledge was hard enough for his floppy paws to follow, and now that he was up there he found that he took up the majority of the ledge, and snorted in annoyance. The pup had just set his butt down when he felt the rock shift beneath him. He had no time to wonder if he had noticed it was that unsteady before, when the stone crumbled under his rump. Pebbles clacked over the rocks and plopped into the snow, and much of Scorpius followed. He scrabbled for purchase, and managed to catch what was left of the ledge, but his lupine paws would not be able to hold on for long. He glanced over his shoulder. The fall wasn't far and hitting the ground probably woldn't hurt him, but it was the possibility of bouncing against all those jagged rocks that worried him. - Viking Sigurdr - 03-12-2011
HOO-HAH! -flex- +5 The light of early dawn was what awoke the giant from his slumber, and brought him out of the dimly lit caves and into the open. As the bone washed male blinked into the beginnings of the day, the only sound that came from him were the steps he took into the snow-covered ground, sounding like rolling thunder while all the world was still asleep. Emerging in his normal gear, the shadow that played from his build made a strange shape - a large beast, clad in bearskin pants, with an antler helm placed over long, loose, braided hair. The moving shadow displayed the weapon in the warrior's hand, the axe he was never without; it was as much a part of him as any other part of his body. Slowly, the giant moved with no direction in particular. Nothing else stirred, all else was quiet - much like the large male. It was more than the perfect time to find a place to train on his own, before returning and awaiting the wants and needs of the queen. It had only been a couple days since she called upon him, and though Viking was prepared by his former female leader, it caught the giant off guard. As customary, when a queen demanded something of her slaves, they obeyed, regardless of the command. But when it came to more.. physical matters.. she only picked the strongest, sturdiest warriors. King's single eye narrowed in contemplation as he found himself near a rocky ledge, not far from the mouth of the pack's cave. Why was he picked? Did his queen see something in him that he hadn't? Naturally, though he was physically fit, the warrior always found himself training his body and his mind, never finding himself worthy. He would certainly prove himself in combat, but never boast about it. Doing so would only add to the many scars that already adorned the giant's form. They were reminders of his outbursts, of his disobeying, and most importantly - weakness. His thoughts were shaken and the male was brought back to the present, ears twitching at the sound and sight of rubble falling. A single grunt came from his throat, as the male took a few more steps to peer around the ledge. Ruby eye widened slightly in seeing the scene before him, of a young, black wolf scrambling to hang on. The scent that flared through the giant's nostrils indicated that he was no stranger - but a brother, part of the same pack. Born into believing that one should look out for one another, the large male took it upon him to assist the black male. From the looks of it, the other was a four-legged one, and how it came to be on the edge was far beyond the bone washed male. It may have been a sign of weakness on its part to have fallen in the first place, or the gods were unhappy and trying to get rid of the problem. Stepping out onto the ledge slowly, carefully, King kept his eye trained on the target. When he was close enough, he stretched out one massive, scarred paw to grab onto the smaller black one clinging to the edge. .Vikingfreeb2 b {font-weight:bold; color:#ccb9ae; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #000000; } .Vikingfreeb2-ooc {font-style:italic; padding:0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#796b62; text-align:center;} .Vikingfreeb2 p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 15px; margin:0px;} .Vikingfreeb2 {margin:0 auto; width:480px; background-color:#2f2c2a; background-image:url(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/ ... reeb01.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:2px solid #ccb9ae; padding: 225px 0px 10px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#796b62; letter-spacing:.4px; word-spacing:.8px; line-height:12.3px; text-align:justify;} .Vikingfreeb2-border1 {width:484px; border:1px solid #000000; margin:0 auto;} .Vikingfreeb2-line1 {width:450px; border-bottom:1px dotted #000000; margin:0 auto 3px auto;} </style>
- Scorpius D'Angelo - 03-13-2011
http://i776.photobucket.com/albums/yy46 ... iustab.png); background-color:#000f33; background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; text-align:justify;">If assuming Viking was silent for that long is no bueno just let me know. =) WC 300+ The boy was so distracted looking over his shoulder at the ground below that he did not even notice Viking's approach. He should have noticed the sizable male but the man moved with such swiftness and Scorpius was ruefully unobservant. His hind paws dangled for a moment before he tried to find a place for them to rest upon the rock wall, but he could not find a spot sufficient enough for a good boost back up. He whimpered, and then when something touched his fore paw he yelped in surprise and jerked his scarred face to stare at the monstrosity. A silent beat passed. Who was this man? Was he here to help Scorpius back up, or was he lending a paw to gravity to help Scorpius back down? One whiff and the boy understood that the hulk was a member of Anathema. There was hope, but still, there was also a telling pause. Then, before Scorpius could grow impatient and beg the man to pull him to safety, the hand around his paw heaved and for a moment the boy felt like he had wings! Viking effortlessly pulled the boy to safety, except the extra force of the action almost sent Scorpius head-on into another boulder in the tight space. He yelped and his paws scrabbled on the ground, but he managed to jerk to a stop before he crashed into the rock. Wide, ruby eyes stared at the rock for a moment before turning to Viking, one eye outlined with ragged pink scars. “Thanks... uh...” he didn't know the man's name. “Thanks.” He turned around and peered over the edge, a hearty sigh puffing from his lungs. “Juju and I used to play up here all the time, but I guess not anymore.” Why did he even come here? It was so stupid, and now the stupid ledge he used to always keep from Juju was now crumbled and gone. It was no fair. He huffed again and dropped his rump to the ground, raising a back paw to scratch behind his non-scarred ear. “I'm Scorpius,” he said casually, then waited. Nothing. He began to feel a little strange sitting there in the giant's shadow, and the silence was chiseling at the edge of his sanity. “Hello? Mister? Aren't you going to say anything?” - Viking Sigurdr - 04-03-2011
Nani would have told King about Scorp by this point. xD +3
