The foolish, childish idea that Cyp might belong in the lands of his father had been squashed. He had met few of the coyotes of Inferni and those experiences had left him with little desire to meet anymore if they were all red-eyed demons cut from the same cloth. Talitha and Halo had made it clear there was no place for him here and he felt the solidarity of that in his heart now. He wished to return home to the lands he knew. Where a bed and room that were his own waited for him and with any hope his mother too would be there. He had proven himself useless, but Savina and the rest of the pack would not rest until his mother was back at home in Haven Manor, of that he was sure.
Wishing for sometime to himself, away from the guest house his father shared with the two jackals the spoke in a strange tongue, Cypress once again braved the unknown of the forest that surrounded him. This time his intentions were simply to explore and with no intentions to hunt he made no effort to keep padded feet silent as he made his way along a well worn and winding path. Though there was little of interest and the forest seemed the same as any other. Perhaps it was just being homesick that was bringing him down and making the world seem so dull.
A blur of motion caught his eye, stopping the youth in his tracks and ears perked hearing a voice call out a short distance away. Despite the small distance the words were distinct and clear, though a bit confusing. Was she talking to him? Well he assumed it was a female, the voice sounded young yet still feminine. "Hello?" he called out as he approached. "Hello, who's there?" He was leery after his last encounters with the locals. "Oh, sorry to interrupt.." He said as the very wolfish youth came to a halt seeing the young girl investigating some sort of burrow, or something.

He had been apprehensive about approaching the voice had heard int he distance. Most of his encounters with the locals beyond the walls of the house his father lived in behind the mansion had not exactly be the most pleasant of experiences. But the voice had sounded young and feminine and Cypress felt compelled to make sure the young girl was not in distress. It seemed the young female had not heard him at all as he approached, calling out. Her nose stuffed deep in some sort of tunnel, hole or something of the sort near the base of a tree. Whatever was in there had all of her attention. He was about to try and get her attention again and suggest that perhaps she not do that when she pulled her face quickly from the hole with a yelp and licked her likely assaulted nose. He opened his mouth to ask if she was alright, but before he could get the words out she told him smelled weird and his face scrunched oddly and he tilted his head to one side in his confusion. "What do you mean?" He never been told he smelled odd before. Just what did this girl mean and what kinda of greeting was that anyway?
Pink tongue licked at her nose some more and Cypress tried to somewhat discretely get a look at it to see if she was hurt very badly. The scratches looked small and from experience he could say that they would probably sting for a little while, but she would likely soon forget about them. "Crimson Dreams. I am just here visiting.Name's Cypress." He answered simply. ”You alright? What did you chase down that hole?” He was still a few feet away from her and took a few steps forward to investigate the hole, sniffing at it.

Her provided explanation did little to quail his confusion. For he did not share her perspective on scents. A scent told one a multitude of information but Cyp rarely looked to it to define and separate canine species. He was only mildly aware of the mixed heritage of his blood and how that bled into his scent."No wonder I smell funny if you expected me to smell like a coyote." His tone was light, one of casual conversation with a hint of humor to it. He did not know the percentages of his blood, but considering whom his father was there was obviously some coyote heritage there. Cypress felt it obvious that he was wolf. It showed in body and was equally true of heart and mind. Unlike many of Inferni Cypress did not see the differences in blood. He would likely never understand their prejudices. "Really? But I thought that there lots of coyotes here. Aren't coyotes the only breed allowed to join the clan?" Well he had only been told wolves were not allowed, so he had assumed that it had also meant then that only coyotes (or at least those of strong coyote heritage) were allowed to join.
"It's nice to meet you Symera." He said politely. The girl had been nice so far. Nicer than any of the others he had a pleasure of meeting so far. Even if she seemed a little blunt, if not rude. Still she seemed deserving of the manners Anu had taught him. "It is a pack southwest of here. Past the ruins of the old city. We have a large lake there and a large building similar to the mansion you all have here." The lake was probably his favorite place to spend his free time. He enjoyed watching the motion of the water's surface and the songs of the frogs and insects that called the long grasses surrounding it home.
Cypress too, had to learn the hard way about shoving his snout down in a hole and earned himself similar scratches on more than one occasion. There was no promise he might not yet earn more such scratches as his own curiosity still got him in trouble from time to time. It was his temper that he was more concerned with taming. " Yea, you've got a couple good scratches there. They will probably hurt for a little awhile, but you'll forget all about them before you know it!" He smiled and his tail gave a soft wag in his hopes to reassure her. "So what do you do around here for fun?" He hadn't seen much of Inferni and he didn't know what was really out there to even see.

Cypress used to think about what it would be like in Inferni, to live with his father. It had been nothing more than fantasy to distract his mind, for in truth Cypress couldn’t imagine leaving his mother’s side for an undisclosed amount of time. He might not have clung to her as tightly as Alder had, but like with her sons, she was his rock. He nodded as the coyote girl asked if he liked his home. ”Of coarse, that’s what makes it home, isn’t it?” Even if it had become something of a war zone and his mother had been stolen in the night of the raid. But those are things he didn’t want to think about it. So long as he was in Inferni he could pretend the war wasn’t happening at all. Even if he wanted to though, staying was not an option for him. ”I wouldn’t be allowed to stay here anyway. Father said I could only stay for a few day. I’ll probably be heading home tonight, actually.” He said, a little disappointed that his stay was almost over, yet he was still unadmittedly homesick.
”That’s good” His tone brighter again. He was genuinely glad that her nose wasn’t hurting so much anymore, though as she went on to talk about what she did for fun Cypress just grew more confused again. ”Mr.Squishy?” He assumed she was talking about some sort of toy, thinking the like of something made of fabric that was stuffed full of.. well whatever it is that stuffed toys were stuffed with. ”What are stinkies?” His brow furrowed with his confusion, so little she said was making sense to him.

Cypress was hardly one to really talk of what made home, home. Crimson Dreams was the only home he had ever known. It was where his mother lived. Where she had birthed her sons and raised them. Just as easily his home could have been any number of lands. Familiarity and the comfort it brought was what kept him grounded there. He knew the wolves there; he knew the lands and knew no reason for change. Cypress assumed the same was for Symera and Inferni. That she had been born and raised here. After all she was younger than him so it seemed only logical in his naive mind until she said she had lost her old home and no lived here. His face saddened at the idea that she had been forced from her home. "That's terrible. It must have been horrible to lose your home. Why did you have to leave?"
Cypress was a little nervous about his trip home. The moon had waned since his arrival and Cypress would not have the light of the full moon for his travel home as he had for his journey here. Still he hoped it would give off enough light to sooth his fears of the darkness. A fear that had plagued him ever since he had been frightened in the dark, moonless woods of his home nearly a year ago. Though, much like his aversion to his optime form his fear of the dark was another weakness he would not openly admit too. "It will take me over a day to get back, maybe two." He could probably make it in less time if he hurried, but he would rather plan for sometime to rest and hunt if need be. That way there was always a chance he might get home earlier than he expected rather than later.
At first he thought that she had lost her toy or it had been broken when she said it had been in an accident. He smiled as she said she had simply left him at home so that she might find him a Mrs.Squishy. "I can help you find one, if you want to." Still thinking that she was talking about a stuffed toy of some sort, he didn't have the slightest clue where they might find one around here, but if she had already found one he assumed she would have some idea. She explained a little more about what stinkies were, but it didn't really clarify things for him much at all. Which was probably for the best; he'd really be confused if he knew she was talking about wolves. .cypressadol01 b {font-weight:bold; color:#5c653e; letter-spacing:1px; } .cypressadol01-ooc {font-style:italic; padding:0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#c4c5c5; text-align:center;} .cypressadol01 p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 12px; margin:0px;} .cypressadol01 {margin:0 auto; width:374px; background-color:#383C3D; background-image:url(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/ ... adol01.png); background-position:bottom center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #c4c5c5; padding: 0px 0px 160px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#c4c5c5; letter-spacing:.3px; word-spacing:.8px; line-height:12px; text-align:justify;} .cypressadol01-border1 {width:376px; border:1px solid #191a18; margin:0 auto;} .cypressadol01-line1 {width:200px; border-bottom:1px solid #c4c5c5; margin:0 auto 5px auto;} </style> [/html] |
