- Skoll Haskel - 11-14-2011
First post with my little boy! If I've already arranged a thread with you, you can feel free to post and we can count this as our thread; otherwise, this is all welcome! Skoll Haskel was furious. Of course, it was the first time in a long time that he’d managed to slip out from under his mother’s nose. She’d been watching him and his siblings like a hawk ever since Daddy went away for something important; the paranoid atmosphere was something that even the young pup could perceive. It had lightened up for about a week before everyone started being really busy again. It was probably the stupid whit stuff’s fault, and the cold, and the blonde boy found himself questioning why he’d come outside in the first place. Right—to escape. He’d slipped out the front door of the Catori-Haskel home when someone forgot to shut it completely, but of course the wind had knocked it firmly closed when he turned back around. Deciding that he might as well make the most of the circumstances, he’d picked his favorite ball right back up and trotted further out into the pack territory. Skoll had been reminded enough not to go too far, so he kept the building in his sight at all times and made sure he was in sight of the building too. That way Mom couldn’t say he’d wandered off. But a puppy could only do so much while trying to be careful, and Skoll had quickly fallen into a game of ball, rolling the toy with his nose and scrambling after it on too-large paws. He’d pounce and make a great show of chewing it before releasing it once again. Now, however, it had rolled into a hole too small for him to get to. “Get back heerreee,” Skoll commanded in a childish parody of his mother’s reprimanding. “I whoop you iffu don’t.” He scowled, green eyes darkly fixed on the tiny burrow, and after a few moments, he barked loudly. “I count! Un, deux, trois…” He scrunched his nose up, trying to remember what number to end on—or what number came after trois, for that matter. But it was no use. Even if he counted all day, he didn’t think the ball—which had proven thus far incapable of its own movement uphill—would listen to him. Yapping again, the Haskel boy plopped his butt down on the cold ground and tried to contain his frustrations. Maybe he could dig, but the dirt was so hard and cold from the prior night’s frost, and he didn’t want his paws to hurt anymore. If they hurt, he couldn’t run, and he’d sooner relinquish his ball to the dark forces underground than lose that ability. It looked like he’d need a grown-up for this. Terra had met Skoll once before, when she'd been wounded. Her main impression was that the pup was overly hyper and loved to play. Seeing him just proved her impression. Languidly Terra sat in the shade, watching the pup chase after the ball. It crossed her mind that the pup should probably have someone watching him, and since she was there she took up the task. Terra had grown in a pack where pups were raised by the group. Whether or not it was the same here didn't matter as that was the impression in her mind. She'd watch the pup until his mother or Liam came to collect him. .terrra b {font-weight:bold; color:#116f77; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #041f22; } .terrra p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 16px; margin:0px;} .terrra {margin:0 auto; width:450px; background-color:#31515c; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/K8FCs.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #0b052c; padding: 270px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#558888; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13.3px; text-align:justify;} .terrra p b:before { content: open-quote; } .terrra p b:after {content: close-quote; } </style>
- Skoll Haskel - 11-14-2011
Coming footfalls made Skoll reluctantly abandon his glaring at the underground tunnel and the hiding ball. He wagged his tail once as he recognized the tawny-red coywolf, Terra, and he hopped up onto all fours in time to witness her shift into her two-legged shape. The puppy recognized the optime form as something that belonged to grown-ups, and grown-ups were more or less supposed to be listened and paid attention to—though he didn’t always take this advice to heart. A more submissive cub might have shown their belly to the adult, but he only boldly watched her transformation with a curiosity he couldn’t quite name. Born into luperci society meant that he was familiar with the shift, and it was one of the very, very few burning questions he didn’t feel comfortable asking. After she had shifted, gaining a lot of height on him, the boy watched attentively as a dark hand reached into the hole. His tail wagging increased in frequency, a metronome going almost a hundred beats a minute, and he eyed the sphere in the woman’s paw. She asked if he wanted to play, and Skoll let out a wordless yap as the answer. He was tensed up as he waited, and when the ball bounced down to earth, he jumped and chomped at it without hesitation. Catching it in his jaws, he landed and whirled around, staring at Terra excitedly.
“Play a game?” Skoll asked, butt wiggling with the force of his tail wags. It seemed redundant, but he did not have the vocabulary to ask if she meant a proper game like catch or just some random fun. Whether a clarification came or not, he knew that he would have a lot of fun. His mind backpedaled then, and with a somber expression, he recited politely, “Thank you fer gettin’ ball.” Word Count → 307 <style type="text/css"> .puppyskoll b {font-weight:bold; color:#fff7d4; text-shadow:#775700 0px 0px 1px;} .puppyskoll p {padding:5px 15px; margin:0px;} .puppyskoll {margin:0px auto; width:500px; background-color:#bfa66a; background-image:url(http://i54.tinypic.com/fm3t36.jpg); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #8f7030; padding: 400px 0px 5px 0px; font-family:georgia, sans-serif; font-size:12px; color:#8f7030; line-height:16px; text-align:justify;} .puppyskoll .wordcount {color:#775700; letter-spacing:0px; font-size:11px; font-weight:bold; border-top:2px dashed #775700; padding:0px 5px; text-transform:uppercase; margin:15px 15px 15px 15px; text-align:center;} .puppyskoll .ooc {font-style:italic; font-size:11px; text-align:center; color:#775700;} </style>
- Terra - 11-14-2011
OOC He's so cute! Terra frowned slightly at Skoll's words.A game? She didn't really play games. Well, she supposed it counted as a game when she went hunting for sky people, but that was more of a trick on the poor crazy wolf. An actual game would be more difficult. Her idea of fun mostly involved getting into danger, something that was definitely not appropriate to drag a pup into. Terra sat down on the ground, thinking about what could be done. She'd offered, and there was no taking it back now. Looking back on her past Terra remembered games that she had played as a youth. Dares to go into old buildings, stealing food from grown ups, surprising grown ups, acting out stories. The only one that was even slightly appropriate was acting out a story, and many of them were, well, graphic to say the least. Telling Skoll about Coyote's mateship or a tale of battle would just bring trouble. .terrra b {font-weight:bold; color:#116f77; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #041f22; } .terrra p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 16px; margin:0px;} .terrra {margin:0 auto; width:450px; background-color:#31515c; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/K8FCs.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #0b052c; padding: 270px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#558888; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13.3px; text-align:justify;} .terrra p b:before { content: open-quote; } .terrra p b:after {content: close-quote; } </style>
- Skoll Haskel - 11-14-2011
Thanks! I'm having so much fun playing him. Her frown and quizzical echo made the boy’s rosy ears lower, but Terra gave enough pause that he found some semblance of hope in the silence. When she took a seat on the grass, he picked his ball back up and padded over to her, lifting one paw to rest it on her leg as he smiled around his toy. Her sudden suggestion made his eyes widen. “Two leggas?” Skoll repeated, withdrawing his foreleg. He thought immediately of luperci, and his eyes fell to her legs before returning to her face. “Why dis’pear? Why—oh.” His tongue felt around in his mouth for a moment, and he put a foot on the ball to keep it from rolling back down into the burrow. “You mean—’oooomans?” His mouth formed the word awkwardly. He’d only heard it in passing, but “humans” evoked the past tense to him, and he certainly hadn’t seen any around like he’d seen horses or birds. His ears perked up, and he stared at Terra as if she were the foundation of all knowledge. “They dis’pear?! I wanna know!” He wanted to know how, why, what they even were, anything she could possibly tell him. The humans or two-leggers were nothing but myths to him, but maybe he could get some answers for the questions he’d never asked. That's right. Humans. The word was weird for her, one she'd learned in 'Souls. Since humans were the only two leggers other than birds in the area, it had made sense to call them that. Terra stood up, towering over the small pup. It felt odd, so she changed back into lupine form, letting the bones crack back into place. They were fierce predators, and once they controlled the entire world. You know how fierce wolves are? Well, even they cowered beneath the two leggers' might. Her image of humans was always very vague, looking a lot like fur-less wolves. They had mighty creatures of metal that did their bidding. Want to be one? Terra had fantasized about the creatures when she was young. Sometimes she fought against them, protecting her pack from them. Other times she was a human herself, in command of everything she saw, completely free. .terrra b {font-weight:bold; color:#116f77; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #041f22; } .terrra p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 16px; margin:0px;} .terrra {margin:0 auto; width:450px; background-color:#31515c; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/K8FCs.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #0b052c; padding: 270px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#558888; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13.3px; text-align:justify;} .terrra p b:before { content: open-quote; } .terrra p b:after {content: close-quote; } </style>
- Skoll Haskel - 11-15-2011
The boy nodded rapidly as she confirmed his guess. He didn’t mind the added height she had on him, but he didn’t complain when she changed into her slightly more familiar lupus form. Maybe it would be harder to play two-leggers that way, but then she’d be like him! Terra explained that the humans were fierce predators, and his brow furrowed in concentration. He hadn’t had an actual description of them before, other than that they walked like luperci and their only fur was their manes. He thought that was kinda silly, but he believed her until she said that humans dominated wolves. Immediately, his green eyes widened. “Nuh-uh!” Skoll blurted. “Wolves are the best! I eat ’oomans! No cower!” He bristled and growled in defiance as if facing off against one. “No Haskel cower. I son of the King!” He couldn’t imagine Vigilante ever bowing to anyone! He went and took care of the AniWaya meanies, or so everyone said, and so surely he could beat the humans that were already gone. Of course, his young mind had no concept of the past or a time when the wolves were not the dominant race. Wolves had superseded humans quite cleanly, and it was weird to think of them as feral creatures without minds. He would always embrace that sliver of wildness that separated wolves from humans, but he couldn’t think of struggling in the forest for survival and feeding off deer and stolen sheep. What Terra was saying sounded crazy. But his mood whiplashed when she mentioned the mighty metal creatures, and his ears perked up. Those sounded scary!—which meant they were cool. His pale fur bristled when she crouched and growled at him, and he growled challengingly back, his voice high-pitched and his bared puppy teeth needle-sharp. It was not a serious act of aggression or fear, but a response to the game they were playing. Terra then reared up on her hind legs—clumsier than an optime form, but something he thought he could manage. Grinning, he watched her then nodded, deciding he’d go along with being human. “Lead the way, lady ’ooman,” Skoll said regally, and he balanced on his hind legs with forepaws thrashing. “We get metal beasts!” Word Count → 374 <style type="text/css"> .puppyskoll b {font-weight:bold; color:#fff7d4; text-shadow:#775700 0px 0px 1px;} .puppyskoll p {padding:5px 15px; margin:0px;} .puppyskoll {margin:0px auto; width:500px; background-color:#bfa66a; background-image:url(http://i54.tinypic.com/fm3t36.jpg); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #8f7030; padding: 400px 0px 5px 0px; font-family:georgia, sans-serif; font-size:12px; color:#8f7030; line-height:16px; text-align:justify;} .puppyskoll .wordcount {color:#775700; letter-spacing:0px; font-size:11px; font-weight:bold; border-top:2px dashed #775700; padding:0px 5px; text-transform:uppercase; margin:15px 15px 15px 15px; text-align:center;} .puppyskoll .ooc {font-style:italic; font-size:11px; text-align:center; color:#775700;} </style>
- Terra - 11-15-2011
OOC Watching Skoll stand on two legs was actually fairly impressive. His balance was still loose, but he would get a hang of it quite quickly. Terra led the way down the path. We'll have to be careful approaching the metal beasts. The humans controlled them with their minds, not even having to speak to tell them what to do. They just sat there and the beasts listened.Terra stopped beside a fallen log before climbing on top, sitting on it. Mister Human, shall we go get food on our metal beast? The game was silly, but Terra enjoyed watching Skoll try to keep up with her. Even his clumsy steps on his back legs was amusing. Terra thought it could count as practice for optime form, but she wasn't sure. Terra hadn't struggled with walking in her optime form, but the change in height had still challenged her. .terrra b {font-weight:bold; color:#116f77; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #041f22; } .terrra p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 16px; margin:0px;} .terrra {margin:0 auto; width:450px; background-color:#31515c; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/K8FCs.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #0b052c; padding: 270px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#558888; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13.3px; text-align:justify;} .terrra p b:before { content: open-quote; } .terrra p b:after {content: close-quote; } </style>
- Skoll Haskel - 11-16-2011
Skoll padded along on his hind legs, toppling often but with style. His ears perked as she mentioned the metal beasts, and his eyes grew like twin green suns as she mentioned that the humans controlled them with their minds. He tried to imagine commanding his ball with his mind to make it roll where he wanted it to, and he smiled giddily, tongue lolling from his jaws. Maybe there was something to this human dominance thing—maybe. He dropped onto all fours after a while, watching Terra leap atop a log and sit down on it. He cocked his head at the fallen tree before registering its place in this game of pretend, and he quickly hopped up behind her. “We shall,” the blonde boy said in his best mature voice, and he screwed his nose up, staring at the log and trying to get it to move with his mind. Did it work if it wasn’t metal? “The beasts ’unt fer ’oomans?” he wondered aloud. He watched her straighten again, and he tried to copy her before falling off the log with a yelp. Shaking the grass from his fur, he looked at her wonderingly. That was right—the humans disappeared, the fierce predators that wolves supposedly cowered before. He scoffed. “Why dis’pear, Terra? Their beasts protect them. Did wolves eat ’em?” Now that was a theory Skoll liked. His balance had been quite impressive for a pup, but he was still ridiculous looking on his back legs. Well, every canine looked silly on their back elgs unless it was optime form. Of course the metal beasts hunted for them! They moved swiftly through the woods, taking anything their masters wished for.Terra leaned forward on the log, pretending to command it to bring them food. The log would have to obey as one of the metal creatures obeying it's human master. .terrra b {font-weight:bold; color:#116f77; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #041f22; } .terrra p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 16px; margin:0px;} .terrra {margin:0 auto; width:450px; background-color:#31515c; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/K8FCs.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #0b052c; padding: 270px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#558888; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13.3px; text-align:justify;} .terrra p b:before { content: open-quote; } .terrra p b:after {content: close-quote; } </style>
- Skoll Haskel - 11-16-2011
Terra confirmed that the metal beasts would hunt for their human masters, and Skoll nodded, though his expression was thoughtful. It was cool that the humans could make others hunt for them, but wasn’t it more fun to hunt for yourself? He wasn’t familiar with the concept of slavery, but that was what he’d equate the mind-control to if he’d known. All he knew was that it was sort of strange. “’oomans ’unt all alone too?” he asked, wondering how they could be fierce predators if they couldn’t hunt. He patted at the log. The cinnamon coywolf went on to describe the new beast, and wide green eyes flicked quickly heavenward as he tried to understand. Birds could fly to the treetops, but he couldn’t imagine a bird flying into the stars. Not quite understanding death at his age, he continued to stare at the blue sky in utter confusion. Humans did some pretty scary things! Terra explained that the humans fought over the star-beast, and he wagged his tail as she hopped down next to him on the grass. She indicated a hollow log that would take them safely to the stars, and he nodded enthusiastically. “Run! Run, Terra!” the boy shouted, as if other the cries of battle. He rushed/ toward the log, zigzagging as if avoiding invisible enemies, and hurled himself into the hollow. He curled up there, giggling and seeing if his companion would make it. “Don’ get left behind! ’urry hurry!” He grinned and cast as much of a look skyward as he could, ready to command the log to fly upwards with his mind like the humans did. She supposed they must have, as they were so powerful, but the real answer was lost. If Terra had known that the metal beasts that killed for the humans were actually guns she would have been able to answer. Instead she thought the metal beasts did all the work. Terra dashed forward with all the might she could seize, zig zagging like a pro. This was practice for her, being as stealthy as can be. She blended herself into the landscape around her, almost disappearing except for a blur of movement. .terrra b {font-weight:bold; color:#116f77; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #041f22; } .terrra p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 16px; margin:0px;} .terrra {margin:0 auto; width:450px; background-color:#31515c; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/K8FCs.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #0b052c; padding: 270px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#558888; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13.3px; text-align:justify;} .terrra p b:before { content: open-quote; } .terrra p b:after {content: close-quote; } </style>
- Skoll Haskel - 11-16-2011
This is hysterical. xD Terra was doing a really good job at running from the other warring humans. She was really speedy in her lupus form, and he wondered if he’d ever be able to run like that. He might have thought her agility a product of her coyote blood, though he didn’t quite understand the difference between species at his age. Still, as well as she ran, she was eventually bested by the humans. The boy stared as she staggered, struck by some blow, and tried to drag herself to safety while fighting off the monsters. Falling, she rolled on her back and proclaimed her defeat. Skoll screwed his nose up. “Never!” he shouted, leaping out of the hollow log—and bouncing off her belly accidentally. He landed back on the grass and growled and snapped at all the humans. “I king! I fight ’em off!” he told her. “Get in!” He lifted his rosy hackles and snarled once more, hoping to buy her enough time to escape the imaginary foes. Dashing in to defeat the (fake) humans! Terra let out a small oof as Skoll landed on her stomach. She rolled over as he braced against the foes, tiny hackles raised. It was pretty impressive, despite the fact that it was a game. Maybe Skoll would be a warrior when he grew up. He already seemed to have the instincts for it. Taking advantage of Skoll's distractions she darted into the log. I'm in! Come on, it's time to head for the stars! Terra shivered slightly at saying that. No sane canine would want anything to do with the stars until they were ready to die. .terrra b {font-weight:bold; color:#116f77; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #041f22; } .terrra p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 16px; margin:0px;} .terrra {margin:0 auto; width:450px; background-color:#31515c; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/K8FCs.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #0b052c; padding: 270px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#558888; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13.3px; text-align:justify;} .terrra p b:before { content: open-quote; } .terrra p b:after {content: close-quote; } </style>
- Skoll Haskel - 11-17-2011
Skoll had bought enough time for Terra to escape, and so at her cry the blonde puppy whirled around and threw himself in next to her, curled up close to her ruddy body. He grinned out at the imaginary humans fighting and released a howl of triumph—one that was high in his childish voice but echoed throughout the hollow log in a way that made him feel powerful. He started to spin in tight circles until coming to the edge of their shelter. “The stars!” the Prince proclaimed, and he leaped out of the so-called sky beast. Being a land animal, he had no concept of what it was like to really fly or really be up so high, so he simply spun in circles as if the heavens were simply a shelf—out of reach but touchable. Then he spun back to Terra and grinned, waiting for the conclusion to their story-game. She wasn't sure what it would be like to live among the stars, but she had a feeling it would be quite nice. Still, she was in no hurry to find out and was perfectly happy living where she was. Sitting down neatly she gazed into Skoll's curious eyes. The humans who didn't make it to the star beast died from their wars, leaving no survivors. Canines took their place in the world, becoming the most powerful creatures on the planet. Terra held herself proudly, one of the powerful. Then she dropped her head, her voice low. .terrra b {font-weight:bold; color:#116f77; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #041f22; } .terrra p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 16px; margin:0px;} .terrra {margin:0 auto; width:450px; background-color:#31515c; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/K8FCs.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #0b052c; padding: 270px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#558888; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13.3px; text-align:justify;} .terrra p b:before { content: open-quote; } .terrra p b:after {content: close-quote; } </style>
- Skoll Haskel - 11-17-2011
Terra did not bounce around eagerly like the puppy, but he didn’t mind and registered the calmness as a sign to pay attention once more. He took a seat in front of her and pricked his rosy ears as she explained the fate of the warring humans. He snorted and lifted his white chin too at mention of the canine takeover. They were better than humans, and of course they could take over! They didn’t need any metal beasts to do their bidding! The Prince admitted to himself that it would be neat to command things, but he would rather be a luperci any day. The woman dipped her head then, and he had to strain to hear the beginnings of her conclusion. She mentioned that the humans could return from the stars, return from the heavens where they’d departed in their metal sky-beast, and they would want to have their world back. “No!” Skoll howled. He leaped on all fours. “We not let ’em! Our kingdom!” He spun in a circle then glanced skyward again, just daring the humans to come down. The pack would show them! They wouldn’t be allowed to set foot on the earth they abandoned again! The mood switched from lighthearted again as Terra finished hastily and challenged him to tackle her. Brow furrowed, the boy leaped at her and landed on the empty grass, grinning after her fleet-footed form. He chased after her for a few yards before it became evident that he would never be able to catch up with the adult, with the natural speed she was taking advantage of. Skoll never gave up, though. Even when his small body began to ache with the exertion, he kept running after her. I'm running out of stuff for them to do Terra was impressed by Skoll's words. Her reactions when being told that story had been to run and hide behind her mother. Humans terrified her, even knowing they were gone. Well, she hadn't known about luperci back then, and luperci were obviously powerful. They even knew how to use some of the things the humans had left behind. Still, if push came to shove she was sure Skoll would go running back to his parents. He was just a pup. After running for a few feet she twisted around to see Skoll desperately running to catch up. He was too little to match her speed, but he was fast for his age. .terrra b {font-weight:bold; color:#116f77; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #041f22; } .terrra p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 16px; margin:0px;} .terrra {margin:0 auto; width:450px; background-color:#31515c; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/K8FCs.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #0b052c; padding: 270px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#558888; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13.3px; text-align:justify;} .terrra p b:before { content: open-quote; } .terrra p b:after {content: close-quote; } </style>
- Skoll Haskel - 11-18-2011
Sounds good! Another couple of posts with their play-fight, then I'm sure Skoll will just fall asleep from exhaustion. The blonde puppy panted heavily as he chased after the adult, but hope burst in his chest as she spun around. He tried to get close enough to snap at her in that amount of time, but she was already sailing over him, and he had to dig his heels into the ground in order to skid to a halt. Naked awe clouded his face as he turned, oh so slowly, to see the agile woman land. Skoll was a fast child, though he was more likely to be full of speed and power rather than quick turns and dances like this hybrid was. Nonetheless, he was immediately envious of and excited about the nimbleness the woman exhibited. He grinned until she snatched him up in her jaws, tossing him into the grass, where he rolled and found his feet after a few tumbles. His body was a little sore, but the toss had been gentle and the grass soft. Some green blades clung to his coat, and of course the smell of the grass cloaked both of them. “Grrrrr!” The Haskel boy bounded toward her on clumsy but fast paws. He managed not to trip on his chin this time, and instead he aimed to ram his little body into her shoulder. Puppy-sharp teeth aimed for fur and flesh, and he wasn’t quite aware of the power he was putting into the movement. He knew how to be gentle when he was chewing on his brother Hati, but he was extremely riled up by now, and caution was far from his excited mind. She was glad she'd finished healing up, or that would have really hurt! Gently she shook herself, trying to dislodge the puppy. He'd hit her with enough force that Terra had stepped back, almost knocked off balance. If it had been anyone with balance problems they would have hit the ground and kept on going. Instead Terra gently nipped at the pup, a gentle growl in her throat. She didn't mind rough housing, but having a pup attached to her shoulder wasn't necessarily comfortable. .terrra b {font-weight:bold; color:#116f77; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #041f22; } .terrra p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 16px; margin:0px;} .terrra {margin:0 auto; width:450px; background-color:#31515c; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/K8FCs.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #0b052c; padding: 270px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#558888; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13.3px; text-align:justify;} .terrra p b:before { content: open-quote; } .terrra p b:after {content: close-quote; } </style>
|
