- Saul Stormbringer - 01-10-2012
11th January . Wentworth Valley . 12.30pm Yesterday had been surreal. After his meeting with Nayru and their agreement, as well as his reunion with Saluce, the young male had exited the earthen den that would be his home for a little while to track down Hermes and remove the various items that had been strapped to the stallion. Including the little package holding a precious egg inside that Saul was yet to discover whether it was viable or not. He had no idea what was inside the egg, if anything at all, but he would keep it warm none the less and see what happened. He'd exited the den and in just moments, another's voice had called for him and Saul had turned to see an old friend coming towards him. Jace had given birth a while ago and her pups would be up and about by now, which made the young male happy. .freebjuly02 b {font-weight:bold; color:#c39b6a; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; } .freebjuly02 p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 15px; margin:0px;} .freebjuly02 {margin:0 auto; width:462px; background-color:#cdbfb2; background-image:url(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/ ... bjuly2.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #796857; padding: 150px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#796857; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13px; text-align:justify;} </style> 542
- Dalgina Wolfe-Denahlii - 01-10-2012 There was a strange sound in the air today. It was very quiet, hard to hear. The birds weren't startled, just kept on chirping. It wasn't a noise she usually heard near her
ingala
, either. Curious she tracked the noise, wandering through the woods until she hit a tiny clearing. Underneath a tree sat a wolf she'd never seen before, looking intently at something in his hands. The source of the noise was near him, she could tell that now. Dalgina wandered closer, keeping her distance. He was different somehow. He didn't smell like any of the other canines she'd met. Caution kept her a few feet away from him, listening to the noise. It was a steady scraping, and bits of wood were falling from his lap. She strained her head the best she could, searching for the source. It was hidden by his hands though. A small whine of frustration escaped her mouth before she could stop it. Hurriedly Dalgina scuttled out of sight, ducking behind a fallen log. She peeked over the side, looking to see if she had been noticed. Dalgina didn't want to get into any trouble, which happened whenever she wandered too far. She didn't know him, either, which made it scary to approach him. - Saul Stormbringer - 01-10-2012
<33 The comforting sound of the knife working over the wood in Saul's hand acted as a numbing agent to the male. His ears tuned in only to the sound of the swish of metal over wood, the soft patter as tiny chunks hit his lap and the occasional pause in this routine as he carelessly brushed the gathering pile of crumbs away from him. It was so easy to get lost in the work, like doodling on a scrap of paper, it was very easy for the male to switch off the rational parts of his brain and allow the creative aspects of his mind to take over. Green eyes grew slightly unfocused as he gazed down at his working hands, pausing every now and then to look into the clearing around him. Nayru and the children were below and while Saul hadn't specified that he was out here to 'keep watch', the intent was clear. .freebjuly02 b {font-weight:bold; color:#c39b6a; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; } .freebjuly02 p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 15px; margin:0px;} .freebjuly02 {margin:0 auto; width:462px; background-color:#cdbfb2; background-image:url(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/ ... bjuly2.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #796857; padding: 150px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#796857; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13px; text-align:justify;} </style> 350
- Dalgina Wolfe-Denahlii - 01-10-2012 It seemed he hadn't seen her, allowing Dalgina to take a sigh of relief. The stranger stretched out, arms above his head. She caught a glint of something shining in one hand, and wood in the other. Her head cocked to the side in curiosity. What could this stranger possibly be doing with those items? Wood was good for chewing, and dragging around and chasing, but he'd just been sitting there. That wasn't the right way to play with twigs at all. His voice rang across the clearing, and Dalgina's tail wagged. She pushed herself, scrambling over the log for a minute before hitting the other side. She bounded forward, tail wagging rapidly. I can keep you company! I'm Dalgina. What's your name? What are you doing? Why do you smell funny? It wasn't a funny smell, but Dalgina didn't know how else to describe the smell. It was completely unknown, of far away places that she couldn't even imagine yet. - Saul Stormbringer - 01-11-2012
<33 He knew it would work, and work it did. With a soft rustle, the little female burst from the bushes. He was pleasantly surprised to find that she was almost an exact replica of her father. He knew he would need to find Temo soon and congratulate him on his fatherhood. He knew that the young male was more of an 'old soul' than many others and Saul liked the man well enough. With a grin however, he carefully placed the knife behind him, placing the wooden stump on his lap. Her childish voice broke over him like a relaxing balm and Saul allowed the easy smile to wash over his face naturally. He couldnt wait until Teme was old enough to walk around, to talk and get excited about the world around him. For now, he pushed his son from his mind, focusing on the black puppy in front of him. .freebjuly02 b {font-weight:bold; color:#c39b6a; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; } .freebjuly02 p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 15px; margin:0px;} .freebjuly02 {margin:0 auto; width:462px; background-color:#cdbfb2; background-image:url(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/ ... bjuly2.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #796857; padding: 150px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#796857; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13px; text-align:justify;} </style> 401
- Dalgina Wolfe-Denahlii - 01-12-2012 Dalgina's tail wagged happily as he introduced himself as Saul Stormbringer. Dalgina had a long name too. It was just tiring to say it whenever she met someone. She tripped on the words sometimes too. Dalgina liked her name, and wanted to say it properly, so she'd wait until she could. Then she could use the long pretty name her
gjiskala
had given her all she wanted, and everyone would know who her
talnala
was! Her eyes widened as he mentioned a trip outside the pack. Pack wasn't a term she quite understood yet, but the idea of leaving it still struck a primal cord inside the small dreamer. Wasn't it scary, being by yourself? Dalgina didn't want to leave
ingali
. She rather liked being around her
talnala
, and couldn't picture leaving them for anything. Dalgina just saw herself getting older, the nursery growing as she did, always playing with her siblings and making prettier and prettier things. She giggled as he asked her what she was doing. Exploring. But I can help you. You can make, um, a tree! Dalgina pictured the wood in his hands becoming one of the giants around her, stark and covered in a winter blanket. Her tail wagged excitedly, and waited for the tree to appear. - Saul Stormbringer - 01-16-2012
<33 He hadn't thought of the fact that his full name might confuse her. Most people in the pack knew his name anyway, but since his departure, a few new mouths had arrived and Saul didn't know if they knew who he was. So it would be easier to introduce himself by his full name, and then ask that she call him Saul. She was a sweet kid though and Saul felt the instinctive smile flash across his face. She reminded him of Magnolia, although that was so long ago and in such a different time and place that the wave of nostalgia hit him hard. Eyes smarting at the thought of Dahlia, Saul allowed Dalgina's small voice to take over the memories wafting over him. He turned back with a smile. .freebjuly02 b {font-weight:bold; color:#c39b6a; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; } .freebjuly02 p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 15px; margin:0px;} .freebjuly02 {margin:0 auto; width:462px; background-color:#cdbfb2; background-image:url(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/ ... bjuly2.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #796857; padding: 150px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#796857; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13px; text-align:justify;} </style> 316
- Dalgina Wolfe-Denahlii - 01-16-2012 Dalgina's tail wagged as he affirmed her thought. It was scary away from where she was. Dalgina was right to stay right where she was, so she could play with her
orej
and snuggle with her papa at night. Dalgina would never leave into the bright and scary. Uh-uh. She cocked her head as he told her that Hermes had protected him. Is that your papa? Mine keeps scary things away too! Delighted that they had something in common Dalgina trotted right up, snuggling into his lap. She leaned over, watching the pieces of wood come off the stick. It didn't seem to be growing any bigger, which was disappointing. In fact, Saul was taking off more of it! That seemed rather counter productive. Trees were big. Making it smaller wouldn't help. Hearing him ask after her
talnala
Dalgina wagged her tail. She promptly began telling him where every single last one was, and what they were doing.
Mahn
's out at the borders. Papa's watching the house and working with some friends. Keldava's sleeping at
ingali
and Honrin and Pandora wander off together. I don't know where they are. I come following noise! - Saul Stormbringer - 01-17-2012
<33 Her little tail wagged happily behind her and Saul laughed softly. She was an enthusiastic pup and Saul was happy that Jace and Temo had allowed their daughter some leeway. He would hate to think of her cooped up in their house. And especially since it seemed she didnt have very close bonds with her brothers and sister. He could tell- she was out here alone afterall. If she'd had a best friend within her siblings, they would be just as inseparable as he and Gideon, or Ascher when Asch was still here. Perhaps Saul would convince Teme, when the boy was old enough, to come out and play with the Wolfe children- they would both benefit that way. Of course, Dalgina was almost two months older than his son, so Saul knew he would have to take it carefully. .freebjuly02 b {font-weight:bold; color:#c39b6a; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; } .freebjuly02 p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 15px; margin:0px;} .freebjuly02 {margin:0 auto; width:462px; background-color:#cdbfb2; background-image:url(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/ ... bjuly2.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #796857; padding: 150px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#796857; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13px; text-align:justify;} </style> 386
- Dalgina Wolfe-Denahlii - 01-17-2012 Dalgina's head cocked to the side curiously. What's a horse? She'd never heard of the creatures, and hearing that he was so big widened her mind. She pictured something similar to the goats she'd seen with Sage, except as big as a tree. What a large creature! No wonder Saul wasn't afraid of traveling beyond that pack. With such a thing with him, he could take over the world, find treasure, maybe even reach the moon! Awed by the idea Dalgina's eyes grew even bigger. He asked what
ingali
meant, causing the black pup to pout. He was the second person to ask her that, and she just didn't know how to answer. Dalgina knew no other word for it, so explaining it was fairly difficult. She was willing to attempt it though. Screwing up her nose Dalgina thought really hard about how to explain it.
Ingali
is where my
talnala
lives. We have a warm room to sleep in, and we keep together, and we're happy. That was a fairly good explanation. Asking if she was alone Dalgina shook her head. No. I play with my
tinglas
, and Honrin, and Papa and
Mahn
tells me stories! Very busy. But sometimes they go off, and I explore. - Saul Stormbringer - 01-17-2012
<33 Curios as always, the young female on his lap cocked his head up at him curiously, before asking him another question. How would one describe a horse? It was perhaps a much easier task to show Dalgina what he meant by a horse. He had no idea where to start, so he went with physical attributes. "A horse is a four legged animal with a long neck and a large head. They have long tail and manes, but not like wolves. They eat plants." He said, knowing that to her imaginative mind, she would be imagining something completely different to the animal that was in fact a horse. "I'll show you one day, don't worry." He offered as he began to slice away at the base of the chunk of wood, fashioning a trunk of his own. .freebjuly02 b {font-weight:bold; color:#c39b6a; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; } .freebjuly02 p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 15px; margin:0px;} .freebjuly02 {margin:0 auto; width:462px; background-color:#cdbfb2; background-image:url(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/ ... bjuly2.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #796857; padding: 150px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#796857; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13px; text-align:justify;} </style> 417
- Dalgina Wolfe-Denahlii - 01-17-2012 Dalgina's mind began rearranging her horse image as Saul spoke, describing what they looked like. She brought it down some, making it the same size as Saul instead of a tree. The goat's neck stretched out, leaving it's neck high in the sky, with a fat head on top of it. The horse sprouted hair along it's head, giving it a shaggy hippy look, and the tail stretched out like a wolf's having a stringy puff of hair at the end. Dalgina giggled at the image. The horse didn't look scary at all. It looked more like something funny. She nodded her head happily as Saul said to bring her
orej
along next time. Dalgina was sure they'd all like him, despite his funny smell. Honrin could talk to him about wise adult stuff, and Pandora would love cuddling with him. Keldava would probably talk a blue streak at him, and of course Dalgina loved watching him chip away at the twig, forming a tree. She was beginning to see a bit of a tree in it, but it wasn't quite finished yet. When will it get bigger? - Saul Stormbringer - 01-18-2012
heeey dear, would you mind if we finished up in the next post or two? I'm trying to free up some threads for the festival <3 Her soft giggle made his own smile stretch wider. If there was one thing to be said about the oldest Stormbringer child, it was the fact that he almost always had a smile on his face. And today was no different. With the dark girl on his lap and his hands working swiftly to remove any last bits of wood that did not belong, he was content. He'd come to accept the fact that Gideon wasn't coming back anytime soon, the fact that Siku was no longer worth the effort of pining for. Shiloh had Lewis to look after her. The only sibling he really worried about at the moment was Ascher, who hadn't found his way back to Nova Scotia since the snowstorm almost a year ago. It worried him that his brother had been injured or harmed during the bad weather, but he reminded himself to stay positive. .freebjuly02 b {font-weight:bold; color:#c39b6a; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; } .freebjuly02 p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 15px; margin:0px;} .freebjuly02 {margin:0 auto; width:462px; background-color:#cdbfb2; background-image:url(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/ ... bjuly2.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #796857; padding: 150px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#796857; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13px; text-align:justify;} </style> 396
- Dalgina Wolfe-Denahlii - 01-18-2012 OOC: All for it Dalgina was disappointed to hear that the tree wouldn't get any bigger. She didn't understand the parts about roots, not know what those were, but she understood it had been part of another tree. The black puppy could understand that it stood for the tree it came from, though it wouldn't be a proper tree, not really. Still, it was beginning to look a lot like a tree. Except for those funny flat bits curling off it. A winter child, Dalgina had never seen leaves. To her trees were barren or coated in snow, not bright and heavy with greenery. Hearing the offer Dalgina looked into Saul's eyes, her brown eyes practically shining with excitement. Can I really? If she could take the tree with her, there were so many to show it to. Neela, and Grynn, and her angel Eclipse. She'd show it to
Olnayni
, and Honrin, and Papa, and her
tinglas
, and Honrin, and everybody! Her tail thumped excitedly, already imagining their surprise and awe when Dalgina showed them the tiny treasure that she'd secured all by herself, Saul forgotten in the tale. - Saul Stormbringer - 01-18-2012
last post is yours <3 He managed to concentrate on the tree figure for a good few minutes as his words sunk in to the little black puppy. He used the sand paper to smooth around the trunks, into even the smallest indentation he'd made to make it look more real. He circled the indentation he'd made to look like a knot in the wood, pleased that the tree sculpture had more depth to it than just a simple tree. The little girl on his lap began to get excited and Saul glanced down at her. He'd meant it when he'd said she could have it- the sculpture had started off as practise for him and he was glad that he'd bought at least a little joy to her world with his present. Her soft squeak made him smile again. .freebjuly02 b {font-weight:bold; color:#c39b6a; letter-spacing:1px; text-shadow: 0.1em 0.1em 0.2em #; } .freebjuly02 p {text-indent:0px; padding:5px 15px; margin:0px;} .freebjuly02 {margin:0 auto; width:462px; background-color:#cdbfb2; background-image:url(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/ ... bjuly2.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:1px solid #796857; padding: 150px 0px 7px 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#796857; letter-spacing:.6px; word-spacing:.9x; line-height:13px; text-align:justify;} </style> 329
- Dalgina Wolfe-Denahlii - 01-18-2012 Dalgina whined, tail thumping excitedly as it was confirmed the tree would indeed be hers. Her mind whirled with tales of excitement and adventure, explaining how she'd gotten the beautiful thing. She watched carefully as it was set on the ground, only to fall over. Dalgina couldn't keep a whimper of disappointment from her throat as Saul picked it up again. He worked on fixing it though, and Dalgina's tail wagged happily. Sawdust fell, covering them both. Dalgina licked at the creamy flakes on her paws, knowing that they meant a bath when she got
ingali
again. The tree stood on the ground this time, and Saul passed it to her. Excited beyond belief she seized the treasure between her teeth and set off flying. Her paws pumped beneath her as she scurried through the bushes, desperately trying not to trip. A couple times she skidded, but each time Dalgina protected her newfound toy from being scratched and continued on her way. Bursting up to the house Dalgina raced for her nursery. Inside she placed it on the ground and barked with excitement. She couldn't wait to show everybody! |
