- Saul Stormbringer - 01-19-2012
21st January 2012 . 10.30am . Market Area . Optime Form He'd slept fitfully last night, for a varieties of reasons. He'd felt a certain anxiety about leaving Ichika again, unsure of how long he would be staying at the festival. It was too good an opportunity to pass up, for trade and to put down some solid connections with other packs. He wanted to find some other healers to make some connections with others who might be able to help him in the future if he ever needed it. The noise from the festival, and the combined noise created by the packs gathered, had been so loud that it had taken him ages to even relax enough to get to sleep. They'd been in their new den for just a matter of days, but he and Nayru made little to no noise when it was time to sleep. He'd gotten used to the quiet stillness that permeated most of Ichika no Ho-en. word count → 424 ;; image © Fir0002/Flagstaffotos ;; table by lin .saul-owlooc {font-style:italic; color:#000000;} .saul-owlcred {font-style:italic; color:#000000; text-align:right; font-size:9px;} .saul-owl p {padding:0px 20px 5px 20px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .saul-owl b {color:#D1C2B9; text-shadow: 0.0em 0.0em 0.1em #5C4633; letter-spacing:-.2px;} .saul-owl {font-family: georgia; font-size:12px; color:#5C4633; letter-spacing:.2px; word-spacing:.3px; line-height:15px; text-align: justify; margin:0px auto; margin:5px auto; width:450px;} .saul-owlinner{background-color:#9D7C5E; background-image:url(http://i1088.photobucket.com/albums/i32 ... aulbot.png); background-position:bottom center; background-repeat:no-repeat; padding:10px 0px 150px 0px; width:450px; border-radius:10px; -moz-border-radius:10px; -webkit-border-radius:10px; margin:0 auto;} </style>
- Amy Sunders - 01-19-2012
Amy Sunders

It was only her second day at the festival, but already her wagon and actions were bringing in customers. She refused to trade with those associated with the pests hosting the event, but everyone else was given generous prices, with promises of visiting her the next time she was in their area. Secure with future sales Amy sorted the items that she'd bought. A fox pelt, a necklace, fresh meat to be stored in the wagon for their travels once they left. One hybrid had even traded Amy a large battle ax, something of a surprise for the dog. It had taken her some time to get it into place, weighing much more than she was used to. Amy might be a fighter, but she wasn't one that relied on strength.

It was clear to her, Saul could see, who would be willing to approach and who would not. So as she caught his eye, Saul could see the slight spark in her eye as she recognised a potential customer. Saul smiled softly in return as he moved closer, green eyes taking in everything that she had, whilst not really taking in anything at all. He knew he was going to have to take his time to look over everything she had to offer, as well as thinking about what he had to trade. His most useful asset at the moment was his skill in wood carving and he knew that. Of course, he might have to make this female a lot to get something off her, he was never quite sure how this situation worked. Her strong voice came then and Saul chuckled softly to himself. word count → 400 ;; image © Fir0002/Flagstaffotos ;; table by lin .saul-owlooc {font-style:italic; color:#000000;} .saul-owlcred {font-style:italic; color:#000000; text-align:right; font-size:9px;} .saul-owl p {padding:0px 20px 5px 20px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .saul-owl b {color:#D1C2B9; text-shadow: 0.0em 0.0em 0.1em #5C4633; letter-spacing:-.2px;} .saul-owl {font-family: georgia; font-size:12px; color:#5C4633; letter-spacing:.2px; word-spacing:.3px; line-height:15px; text-align: justify; margin:0px auto; margin:5px auto; width:450px;} .saul-owlinner{background-color:#9D7C5E; background-image:url(http://i1088.photobucket.com/albums/i32 ... aulbot.png); background-position:bottom center; background-repeat:no-repeat; padding:10px 0px 150px 0px; width:450px; border-radius:10px; -moz-border-radius:10px; -webkit-border-radius:10px; margin:0 auto;} </style>
- Amy Sunders - 01-20-2012
Amy Sunders

Amy was pleased with his straight forward manner. There was no idle chatter before the bargaining began. They both knew why they were there, and were prepared to make the best of it. He told her what he was looking for, and Amy nodded. She waved her hand, letting Hadley bring a couple samples forward. These mixtures were for fever and pain, as well as something added for infection. Hadley gave them to the man wordlessly, ready to take them back at the slightest moment.

He knew it was a bad habit, but the male knew that he had a flowery way with words and he often beat around the bush. Still, he'd jumped right into this conversation without feeling the need to tell this female his whole life history. With a soft smirk, Saul began to seriously look at what the female was selling. The horses behind her were ranging in age, but the stallion, who looked to be the youngest of the bunch caught the young males eye. For the moment, he forced himself to seriously consider what she had in front of her though. A male emerged from further back and began to uncover various sheets that protected items from damage. Her voice came again, brusque and blunt. word count → 362 ;; image © Fir0002/Flagstaffotos ;; table by lin .saul-owlooc {font-style:italic; color:#000000;} .saul-owlcred {font-style:italic; color:#000000; text-align:right; font-size:9px;} .saul-owl p {padding:0px 20px 5px 20px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .saul-owl b {color:#D1C2B9; text-shadow: 0.0em 0.0em 0.1em #5C4633; letter-spacing:-.2px;} .saul-owl {font-family: georgia; font-size:12px; color:#5C4633; letter-spacing:.2px; word-spacing:.3px; line-height:15px; text-align: justify; margin:0px auto; margin:5px auto; width:450px;} .saul-owlinner{background-color:#9D7C5E; background-image:url(http://i1088.photobucket.com/albums/i32 ... aulbot.png); background-position:bottom center; background-repeat:no-repeat; padding:10px 0px 150px 0px; width:450px; border-radius:10px; -moz-border-radius:10px; -webkit-border-radius:10px; margin:0 auto;} </style>
- Amy Sunders - 01-22-2012
Amy Sunders

Amy chuckled lightly as Saul selected a horse, and mentioned his continued interest in the herbs. That was very fine indeed. Amy would be getting a neat little bundle from this, it seemed. Even if he did come from a weak pack, he was willing to trade with Amy, and would probably pay a good price for it. Her eyes widened at his range of things to sell, a smile breaking out onto her face. That was exactly what she liked to hear. A wide selection, where she could select anything she wanted. Amy noted his eyes drifting to the carved bow, but pretended not to see it. Amy wasn't sure how genuine his interest was, as he hadn't listed it despite his wealth. Maybe further into the trade Amy would mention the bow.

He didn't think it was much and that he would be gaining more from their deal than she was. But there was a certain vigour in her eyes that made him think that his wares were perhaps not as worthless as he'd imagined they might be. When he'd first heard about the festival, he'd been disheartened by what he actually had to trade with. But as he began the bargaining process in his mind, he realised that one mans rubbish was another man's treasure. And perhaps he had something in his repertoire that interested the female. She said as much when she commented that she had much to offer. word count → 528 ;; image © Fir0002/Flagstaffotos ;; table by lin .saul-owlooc {font-style:italic; color:#000000;} .saul-owlcred {font-style:italic; color:#000000; text-align:right; font-size:9px;} .saul-owl p {padding:0px 20px 5px 20px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .saul-owl b {color:#D1C2B9; text-shadow: 0.0em 0.0em 0.1em #5C4633; letter-spacing:-.2px;} .saul-owl {font-family: georgia; font-size:12px; color:#5C4633; letter-spacing:.2px; word-spacing:.3px; line-height:15px; text-align: justify; margin:0px auto; margin:5px auto; width:450px;} .saul-owlinner{background-color:#9D7C5E; background-image:url(http://i1088.photobucket.com/albums/i32 ... aulbot.png); background-position:bottom center; background-repeat:no-repeat; padding:10px 0px 150px 0px; width:450px; border-radius:10px; -moz-border-radius:10px; -webkit-border-radius:10px; margin:0 auto;} </style>
- Amy Sunders - 01-24-2012
Amy Sunders

Amy watched him examine the horse dispassionately. She knew it was a good horse, as Amy refused to accept anything of poor quality. She'd learned some things about distinguishing good horses from bad horses last time she'd made such a purchase, and had applied that to make sure she was getting a fair deal. Amy had even brought in an individual consultant to confirm the value of them, and they'd ended up removing two horses that had shown the first signs of deformities in the hooves, saving her from a loss. She smiled quietly as he affirmed that the horse was indeed as good as she'd thought. It was one of the horses Amy had picked out herself without help, though it had taken her the better part of an hour to do so.

There would be no more perfect horse for Temeraire when his son grew than the stallion in front of him. Hermes remained Saul's horse entirely, and Finn and Arete were both two young and jittery to serve as a horse for a young wolf. He would rest easier knowing that Temeraire had a companion that was calm and docile, who didn't seem to mind being prodded and poked. He knew that it would be a long time before his son was ready to start learning to ride, but Saul was certain that the horse in front of him would be perfect for his son. A feeling of satisfaction settled over the male as Amy considered his offer. With a blunt word, she agreed to the price he'd set. Saul returned to the chair she'd offered him when he'd first stopped outside her stall. She named her price on knowledge and Saul dipped his head in agreement. She went on to consider what she wanted, before naming the carving. Amy's ears were fully trained on Saul as he spoke. Every word of his was silently mouthed as she memorized the knowledge, storing it for a later date. Amy had never had blood poisoning herself, but she knew the dangers and wanted to make sure that if she ever got it from a careless wound or if Hadley was infected she could treat it. She didn't want him to die on her after all, despite how close to that edge she pushed him. As he moved on to the pack itself, Amy absorbed the information silently, moving to her wagon to pull out some of the herbs she had. His words explained a lot about why they were so easy to bully, but it also gave her a warning. As a spiritual pack they would have a higher chance of seeing her true nature.

Since he'd returned to Ichika, emaciated and exhausted at just six months old, the youth had gotten into a repetitive routine that started with his rising early and heading to whatever water source was close by and bathing until he felt he were clean enough. This would be followed by roughly an hour long run, often encompassing large sections of the borders as a patrol. While he wasn't an overly paranoid male, he'd always felt the need to check the borders regularly, repairing anything that was broken and ensuring that there were no foreign scents lacing the lines of scent that had already been laid down. He hadn't ever encountered anyone in this manner and the male would return home with a clear head and some sort of plan for the day. The rhythmatic slap of his paws on the ground were a good soothing sound to empty his mind of all and any thoughts that might have plagued him in the night or the previous day. While the wood carving did not have the same effect, it was similar to this morning ritual that he enjoyed most about it. word count → 742 ;; image © Fir0002/Flagstaffotos ;; table by lin .saul-owlooc {font-style:italic; color:#000000;} .saul-owlcred {font-style:italic; color:#000000; text-align:right; font-size:9px;} .saul-owl p {padding:0px 20px 5px 20px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .saul-owl b {color:#D1C2B9; text-shadow: 0.0em 0.0em 0.1em #5C4633; letter-spacing:-.2px;} .saul-owl {font-family: georgia; font-size:12px; color:#5C4633; letter-spacing:.2px; word-spacing:.3px; line-height:15px; text-align: justify; margin:0px auto; margin:5px auto; width:450px;} .saul-owlinner{background-color:#9D7C5E; background-image:url(http://i1088.photobucket.com/albums/i32 ... aulbot.png); background-position:bottom center; background-repeat:no-repeat; padding:10px 0px 150px 0px; width:450px; border-radius:10px; -moz-border-radius:10px; -webkit-border-radius:10px; margin:0 auto;} </style>
- Amy Sunders - 01-30-2012
Amy Sunders

The meaning of spiritual Saul used was very different than the one Amy was used to. In Europe one was religious or spiritual, with the two being distinguished as following a higher path and the other as being connected to the other side. Amy had known that the cultures were different here, but how different had been lost on her. They even used their words oddly. Part of that might be that most canines in Europe had a very small traveling distance between them, allowing differences in culture but the words to flow smoothly to allow the best possible interactions. Others might not speak the same language, but when they talk there were few, if any, miscommunications.

He'd carved out the shapes of all the continents, taking away the slices of wood from around the shapes so that the continents were raised and not imbedded into the wood. He preferred that style of carving and he would use it frequently with any other requests he got. He stowed his knife away, sliding it into a sheath in his satchel that he'd placed there. He removed a piece of sandpaper, rubbing at the piece to make sure there were no splinters or odd ends that might cause damage. It was then that Amy answered him and Saul allowed cinnamon backed ears to swivel forward to listen to what she had to say. She declared to have no religion, but offered that she often found others who had 'powers' beyond the normal. She continued to explain that she'd come from Europe and had no desire to settle down. word count → 570 ;; image © Fir0002/Flagstaffotos ;; table by lin .saul-owlooc {font-style:italic; color:#000000;} .saul-owlcred {font-style:italic; color:#000000; text-align:right; font-size:9px;} .saul-owl p {padding:0px 20px 5px 20px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .saul-owl b {color:#D1C2B9; text-shadow: 0.0em 0.0em 0.1em #5C4633; letter-spacing:-.2px;} .saul-owl {font-family: georgia; font-size:12px; color:#5C4633; letter-spacing:.2px; word-spacing:.3px; line-height:15px; text-align: justify; margin:0px auto; margin:5px auto; width:450px;} .saul-owlinner{background-color:#9D7C5E; background-image:url(http://i1088.photobucket.com/albums/i32 ... aulbot.png); background-position:bottom center; background-repeat:no-repeat; padding:10px 0px 150px 0px; width:450px; border-radius:10px; -moz-border-radius:10px; -webkit-border-radius:10px; margin:0 auto;} </style>
|
