Words – 500+ No sooner had his opponent recovered did Jaden recover as well. His breath came easy and his vision cleared. The energy of battle, his and that of the wolves around him, gave him a feeling of absolute clarity. He could admire the finest details and the cruelest strengths of his enemy while she taunted him. His metal was eternally present in its defense, failing to falter and as hard as the glare he held the dark woman in. The white eyes that glared back defiantly looked crazed, angry, and ready to tare the male wolf into tiny pieces. They made him weary of her attacks. He flinched at her second fake then bared his teeth and growled lowly. Her taunts had some effect on him as he circled around her, still watching for a weakness in her seemingly perfect stance, but not enough to distract him from her kicks when the finally came. He squared his gauntlets and shoulders against the oncoming impact, drawing a foot back to keep his balance and absorb it. An instant before the strike landed, a hostile projectile smashed into Jaden’s lower back and jarred one of his cracked ribs. This sent an incredible amount of pain tearing up his spine. The armored man arched back, letting the unforeseen pain push its own path and contort his muscles as it saw fit. His block lost its power and barely managed to guard against one of the kicks. The shock of it painfully absorbed by his elbows instead the whole of his muscular frame as intended. The second kick passed right over the gauntlets and hit his chest. It took his breath but didn’t stun the muscles like before. Rage then broke Jaden’s previously battle-calm mind. He lost a fair bit more ground as he stumbled back a few steps from the kick and it angered him. He knew he could stand his own against this white eyed, dark furred demon if only they were on level terms. Because of her sneaking, and now some other canine’s help, he was loosing this battle. She was taunting him as well and now it angered him. A hot energy replaced nearly all his reasonable mind, one that demanded to be set free in the form of terrible violence. It felt too soon since his last killing that the wander wanted another’s blood, but the lust consumed him. In that moment he lost his concerns about the others in his group or avoiding injury to himself. The dark wolf tried a fake of his own before charging and tried to catch his target unaware. The grass ripped and tore at the power he pushed against it with. He lead with his gauntlets up and guarding against strikes to his head and throat, about the only thing his instincts told him would stop his onslaught outright. The man approached like a brick wall and put all the power he could into the few steps between them. He intended to smash into her, force her to the ground and crumble down with all his weight. He would try to restrain her limbs with a powerful, rage-fueled grip and leave the rest to their ravenous fangs. He would leave his muscled shoulders open and make them look vulnerable. He would tuck his chin to protect his throat from the other’s fangs. If he could get that far, he would tear at what ever she was unable to defend from him and savor the female’s blood. Jaden does. Draws his bow upon standing. Again, PM me for changes. Words – 500+ Things blurred in the few moments it took the male’s bulk to take his target down. Time seemed to be moving at an irregular pace. Some things raced by while others lingered for what seemed like minutes. Pain passed slowly, the punches that flew around Jaden’s gauntlets and into his already aching torso caused him to cringe and snarl but not to relent. The impact with her was sweet and fast, satisfyingly successful though it didn’t seem to cause as much damage as he had hoped it would. The woman under him fell with skill and didn’t stop fighting as he tried to subdue and cause damage to her smaller frame. He pushed down on her arms and pulled his body back and away from her snapping jaws, her black muzzle stopping so close to his crimson chest that he could feel her breath on his fur. The invader could still taste bitter rage as he snarled and snapped back at his would-be victim. She was strong and he struggled to keep her from wrapping herself around him or escaping. When his dark hands finally found stability on her forearms, he dug his claws into the flesh and tried to force them down. Then he slammed his body into her and pressed all his weight against the woman. His attempt was to smother her as he also tried to shove his shoulder under her chin and pull his throat out of reach. Keeping her teeth from his flesh would be more productive than if she got him between her jaws but he felt his efforts were in vain and it didn’t bother him. Weather she could bite him or not, he was close enough to get to her now. He snapped his fangs closed on her, cutting down on the tight, trained muscle between her throat and her shoulder. He might have tried to tear out the black throat only inches away, but he couldn’t keep himself out of reach and go for it at the same time. Blood coated Jaden’s tongue and fangs. Its flavor quenching his lust coupled with a sharp cry from one of his comrades suddenly broke the wanderer’s rage. His eyes darted to Terra, the attacking group’s leader, and saw the sickeningly odd angle she had twisted one of her hind legs to get at a secui female clamped onto the appendage. They were too spread out and outnumbered. If they didn’t change the way this battle was going soon, Jaden’s gut told him someone would die, or worse, be captured to suffer at the hands of Salsola. But the man didn’t have much time to think on it. The warm, dangerous body beneath him slipped from his grasp as his teeth let up and he threw himself painfully away from the fighter. His bow string still lay across his chest into and pulled into his fur when the muscles underneath tensed, reminding him of its presence. Standing, he drew it with one arm and a sharp projectile with the other, relieved when he saw he hadn’t chosen one broken by his earlier fall. He strung the arrow and brought its tip to face the black woman, pausing then to gasp for breath and daring her to advance. There was absolutely no chance he would miss at this range and none that she could dodge. But he paused. The archer needed a moment to group his thoughts in case his target still had some fight after the arrow breached her frame. Jaden does. Jaden speaks. Sorry it was made to be such a clusterfuck D: Tlantli
The din of battle was all around her -- the flaxen-haired coyote would have thought they were fighting hundreds, with hundreds of Salsolians on their side, as well. The pale woman's charge missed her opponent, and she disappeared into the fray, finding herself in the midst of the fighting canines. A brownish shape flashed before her, and she identified it as Salvia only after a moment, darting after the woman. Tlantli's red eyes watched as the blonde woman rushed for her smaller opponent, and the yellow coyote followed suit soon after, her lithe form still bleeding and reddened from various spots. Her razor-sharp teeth showed clear against the dark of her lips. Miqui
The brown coyote stooped for another handful of rocks, picking over them without choosiness on his part. When he rose, however, he found the small tan coyote charging forward, straight toward him. The man dropped his handful of rocks and squared his shoulders, planting his feet far apart and hunkering down. Growling ferociously, the dusky man planted one of his hands in the dirt before him. Miqui looked more a linebacker than a coyote, though even for a coy-wolf, he was small. Even so, he was ready to catch her and pitch her back and away from the horses, if need be -- he would not abandon his post of protecting the barn. #sieSimple .charHeader { font-size:18px; letter-spacing:-1px; font-family:georgia, serif; border-bottom:1px solid #000000; padding-bottom:6px; text-align:center; width:65%; margin:0 auto; } #sieSimple { font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:13px; width:95%; margin:0px auto; line-height:18px; } #sieSimple p { text-indent:50px; padding:0; margin:10px 0; } #sieSimple .txtooc { text-align:left; font-size:12px; font-family:georgia, serif; text-transform:none; font-style:italic; font-weight:normal; } #sieSimple .txtooc .word { font-weight:bold; font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;} #sieSimple b { letter-spacing:.5px; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: 12px; } #sieSimple u { text-decoration: none; border-bottom:1px dotted #000000; } #sieSimple b:before { content: open-quote; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: 15px; } #sieSimple b:after { content: close-quote; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: 15px; } #sieSimple b.npc { letter-spacing:.5px; font-style:italic; font-weight:normal; } </style>
- Terra - 03-13-2012
OOC is fine. sky told me to assume Gunnar helped with the distraction before getting out of there, so just gonna write him helping to prepare flight
The coyote she'd targeted braced down to catch her. If Terra managed this move right though, the one he'd catch wouldn't be Terra, but the thundering monster trailing behind her. Unfortunately the quick mind of the female allowed her to cut off, charging Terra from the side. Bracing herself Terra pushed up, jumping into the air. She ended up rolling over the large hybrid's back, landing painfully on the other side. At least the rocks had stopped being thrown.

The battle wore on and Salvia found herself eager to end it. Miqui was prepared to grapple the coyote, who she rushed at yet. Somehow, the little thing managed to clear her body, though Salvia rewarded her skill with a savage snap, aimed at the exposed length of leg given when such a daring move was formed. She barely had time to see if it had landed when the coyote and darker dog bolted. Recognizing their intent to flee, she sounded a braying snarl. It was now time to end this silly game. She chased after the coyote, her size slowing her on smaller paths but not stopping her. Salvia knew the land well, and she worked her way through and after the bitch with little pause. Silently, she lunged forward and snapped again at the slowed shape, hoping to land one final blow before chasing the coyote and the noisy dog behind her to the river. #sal-tiger { font-family:'times new roman', times, serif; font-size:14px; width:95%; margin:0px auto; line-height:18px; } #sal-tiger p { text-indent:50px; padding:0; margin:10px 0; } #sal-tiger p.anatole-img { text-align:center; text-indent:0; font-size:11px; font-style:italic; float:right; margin:5px; } #sal-tiger .txtooc { text-align:left; font-size:12px; font-family:georgia, serif; text-transform:none; font-style:italic; font-weight:normal; } #sal-tiger .txtooc .word { font-weight:bold; font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-style:normal;} #sal-tiger b { letter-spacing:-.5px; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: 12px; } #sal-tiger u { text-decoration: none; border-bottom:1px dotted #000000; } #sal-tiger b.npc { letter-spacing:.5px; font-style:italic; font-weight:normal; } </style>
- Jaden Ohanzee - 03-14-2012
Words – 500+ Jaden’s aim was true even in his currently injured state. Flexing his shoulders to pull power into his bow string, he noticed for the first time where the black fighter had ripped at his flesh. He could feel the hot blood trailing down his chest and wetting the fur on his ribs. He let the strung arrow fly with a wince. The shaft would have flown strait for his intended secui target had the woman before him evaded it entirely. He put his own hope, however detrimental it seemed, into his opponent and she had so nearly let the arrow fly free. But it grazed her. The slight course correction was more than enough to let the arrow fall away from it’s target harmlessly. The attack had been intended to be a martyred attempt to save his leader. Had the now crazed-looking white eyed wolf dodged his arrow as intended, Jaden would have been left with no time to defend himself from another attack. Even after he missed he was still left with no time to dodge. A powerful kick struck the bow in his possession, destroying it with a loud shattering of wood that spattered the archer and the woman with sharp splinters. The shock of impact on his hands was painful and his reaction was to pull them back, leaving him open for the follow up kick. It hit hard and knocked the man flat on his tail. He followed the fall back into a roll and stayed low when his paws found ground again. The earthy colors of the forest and the powerful sounds of battle seemed to be crushing down and his entire body felt like it had been trampled by a horse. He was loosing this fight and he knew it. He had to find a way out before one of the dark wolf’s kicks landed hard enough to break him. Jaden had already curled into a defensive crouch by the time he realized his opponent was running away. The shock of such it froze him in place, completely dumbfounded with black and gold gauntlets at the ready. She was obviously a better fighter and he was most vulnerable now… His ponderings were cut short when he noticed Terra snap at the dark optime. With her injuries it seemed like a stupid move. But her eyes found his and he realized her intent. She wanted him to escape. They were retreating. The bloodied man stood and took two steps before stumbling to his knees. The pain in him was worse than he had expected and as he looked down he realized why. Two three-inch long splinters of his smashed bow protruded out of his body, one from his thigh and one from his left bicep. He yanked one after another free from his frame with a few successive curses and pushed up again, charging away from the hostile group as fast as he could. He glanced at his comrades as they disappeared into the land and wanted to follow but the distance between them was quickly filled with pursuing Salsolans. Instead, he cut to the far right and decided he would just take a slightly longer way around to the boarder. Adrenalin assured that he was still quick on his paws despite his injuries and he knew Terra’s distraction would help him dissolve into the forest’s shadows and hopefully without attracting any more attention.
