- Savina Marino - 06-05-2009
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v515/ ... pupban.jpg); background-position: bottom center; background-repeat: no-repeat;"> 300+ It was a gorgeous day today. Savina was laying on a rock on her stomach, letting the sun soak into her sable pelt. Her wavy mane cascaded down her back. Her son was sprawled out next to her, his eyes closed and a content smile on his little maw. The girls were spending time with their father today. Her mate was surely reading them something, maybe even beginning to teach them how to read. The Lt. General had wanted to spend time outside with Gotham though. Even now she could see that he had the qualities of leadership in him. He was compassionate and she could see the strength inside her boy. He may be quiet, but he wasn't shy. He chose his words wisely. She couldn't say what would happen in the ranks of the pack or how he would develop further down the line, but the things she wanted to show him today were important for any member. The mother rose slightly, turning on her side and nudging her dozing pup with her nose. "Mmm, yes momma?" "Would you like to go walk the borders with me Gotham? I could teach you about how to handle those who come to visit and marking." The small boy stood up yawning. "Sure momma." She smiled down at her child that had inherited her coat. "Alright then my little prince, let's be off." She stood up and stretched her arms, then jumped from the rock, reaching back up to lift Gotham down. He grinned up at her, his little tail wagging, and followed at her heels as they headed in the direction of the borders. The last time she had taken all the pups with her an unpleasant woman had gotten after Amata. But her daughter had wandered away from the group while Savina had tended to a bur in Gotham's paw. She knew her son was responsible enough to stick close. She explained a great deal of things to him while they walked. Why they marked the borders and why it was important to keep them fresh. The various reasons that loners and wolves from other packs would come to their borders. How border duties were conducted. What the etiquette was when approaching someone on the borders. How those wishing to join the pack were handled. Gotham took it all in, nodding his head and asking questions to clarify his mother's points. He was so bright. All their children were. Then up ahead in the distance she saw a man turn away from the lands and start to walk off. She hadn't heard a call, but didn't want someone to walk away that needed help. The slender woman scooped up her son and called after him. "Hello! Was there something you needed help with?" - Mahlouk - 06-05-2009
OOCP Jaz on Request
Stopping he lifted his nose to the air, his face void of all emotions like it usually was unless he was around Jazper. The strong scent of Savina made his large ears perk, the gold and silver loops moving with it. Blue eyes missing their pupils went to the direction where the smell was coming from. Trotting that way it didn't take him long to find the mother and her pups. Her voice coming out to speak to a stranger on the lands. The white scarred male came to her side and sat down, Boo sliding down as he caught the bear with expert aim. Setting the bear before him he looked at the stranger, who was scarred but not nearly as much as himself. - Jefferson Soul - 06-05-2009
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/ ... tablep.png); background-position: bottom center; background-repeat: no-repeat; width:409px; border:2px #177A0A solid; font-size: 11px;"> It wasn't that he was particularly lost in his thoughts that day, nor that he had lot on his mind or had his head in the clouds, but he was feeling particularly... good, for some reason. The sun was shining, the weather was warm, the flutter of the leaves in the trees was charming. Nature was a bit of a boost even for the stone-faced, thick-hearted Patriarch; he could appreciate the simple things. Strange, how collected he felt that day... perhaps it had been the walk. Just a week ago, he'd been as traumatized and frenzied as he'd increasingly become over the previous two months, and yet it was as if he'd been granted a day off or some sort of release from it all. He should have gone and found Geneva -- he should have tried to have a talk with her when he wasn't upset or distraught or half-asleep... but there he went, getting lost in his thoughts as always.
- Savina Marino - 06-05-2009
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v515/ ... pupban.jpg); background-position: bottom center; background-repeat: no-repeat;"> The man looked back but quickly turned his face away. Still, even with that short glance she could tell he only had one working eye. Now that she took a closer look his body was heavily scarred. This put the mother on edge a bit. She wasn't one to judge a book by its cover, but with her son in her arms she was more cautious of such signs that she usually was. Unexpectedly she turned to see Mahlouk walk up and sit beside her. It was the first time she had seen the male since that day he had stumbled into her den. The Lt. General knew he had joined the pack since then, but she had not seen him around. "Hello Mahlouk," she greeted before turning her attention back to the stranger. At the man's gruff tone and pathetic excuse her ears flicked back slightly. Came to look? Savina caught the scent of Phoenix Valley coming off of him. The last male she had met from that pack hadn't been the most pleasant individual either. What had her mother-in-law been thinking when letting such creatures into her pack? "Came to look at what exactly?" Her tone was not rude, but it was stern, showing she expected a satisfactory answer. She wasn't going to have people snooping about their borders without a good cause. Gotham looked up at his mother and back at the strange man. The boy wondered if she was going to get angry like she had at the woman who had been mean to his sister. He didn't find anything about the male particularly alarming. Even if he had he wasn't the type to say anything or react badly. He took everything in fairly good stride, especially for someone his age. - Mahlouk - 06-05-2009
OOC: Rawr goes the kitty
Mahlouk didn't wait for the stranger to answer the ebony females question before asking his own. Setting boo down he went about doing so."Mahlouk doesn't understand why you are in such a rush?" His void blue eyes watched closely waiting. Why would the male leave so quickly? In a way as the white male looked over the other he envied him. While his scars were made out of a custom in an old pack, this other males had been gained over time, each one a metal to something. After a few minutes he dropped his blue eyes not able to look for long. After being told he wasn't worthy of looking at others he had learned quickly to drop his gaze. - Jefferson Soul - 06-05-2009
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/ ... tablep.png); background-position: bottom center; background-repeat: no-repeat; width:409px; border:2px #177A0A solid; font-size: 11px;"> They stopped him, so he stopped. Jefferson supposed he didn't look exactly "innocent" turning and hastening away at first greeting, not to mention his scars, useless arm, and gruff voice weren't much aid in acknowledging his presence as harmless and fleeting. He'd already turned away when the black-furred woman greeted their new arrival, at which Jefferson froze in his steps and a chill ran down his spine: Mahlouk? How did complete strangers know his name?! His eye flashed over his shoulder at her, wide and frenzied, before settling down on the white... thing that accompanied her and had clearly been the one addressed. Mahlouk, not Maluki. The Patriarch's green eye immediately thinned, and a biased distrust was placed on the scarred individual. He was not shocked by what he saw: not only did this white creature look like some sad excuse for a one-man carnival act with scars and piercings and a voice to match, but his name bore an eerie similarity to that which Jefferson was born with: Maluki. The similarities in scars and name were enough to put the one-armed idiot on immediate edge, but he brushed off the feeling and turned to face them when addressed further.
- Savina Marino - 06-07-2009
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v515/ ... pupban.jpg); background-position: bottom center; background-repeat: no-repeat;"> 300+ The man stopped when he was questioned again thankfully. Savina didn't want to go chasing after him to get information. She would have had to set Gotham down and instructed him to go home and trust that he would get there alright which didn't settle well within the mind and heart of the mother. She supposed she could have Mahlouk escort him back to the mansion, but she didn't feel great about that either. She didn't think that her son would be in any danger in the presence of the scarred hybrid, but she didn't know the man well enough to entrust him with something so precious even if he was a packmember. As he stepped forward and asked his own question she had the urge to command him to step back and keep quiet but she resisted for now. For Jazper's sake. If he slipped up again she wouldn't let it go however. Savina looked right back at the Phoenix Valley male, her status demonstrated by her poise. "Geneva. She's a friend of mine." That was the only wolf to have left their pack and joined the Valley. She still missed the gray femme, but she couldn't dwell on the past and things that she could not change. At the mention of Iskata's death a sad look entered her eyes. Gotham looked up to his mother with a questioning look. "Dahdah's mommy died?" Savina stroked the boy's head. "Shhh, we'll talk about it later." Her gaze returned to the one-eyed man. "Yes, he's my mate and he knows." Delivering that news had been hard. She knew the pain of losing a mother better than most. So he was the leader of Phoenix Valley. That was...interesting. He didn't seem as bad as the last male, but not exactly her usual cup of tea either. "Savina Marino, Lt. General here. She left behind a lot of friends. I still don't fully understand why she felt the need to leave." There was almost always a solution, but it seemed as if Geneva hadn't thought so or hadn't wanted one. - Mahlouk - 06-08-2009
OOC: Rawr goes the kitty
Sitting there with his gaze down cast and a blank expression he always carried on his scarred face. Mahlouk kept contemplating if he should just leave, but would that be worse then just sitting there? What if this stranger wasn't here on good intentions? Not that Mahlouk thought he was, he seemed more intent on talking. Mahlouk was far from a coward, he just didn't know how to sociolize well. Listening to them he learned this man was the leader of Pheonix Valley, one of the other packs, and that he knew and old pack member. All stuff that Mahlouk couldn't relate with.
He remembered the male Dwalia in AniWaya telling him he should look people in the eyes, that it wasn't rude to do so. Looking up at Jefferson again he had the urge to go closer to the male, but he staied put and didn't keep his eyes on him for long. Was there much here in Crimson Dreams? There was Jazper, his mate. Yet he didn't get to see him that often, so it left Mahlouk quit lonely. It wasn't anyones fault but his own. There were many wolves to talk to, become friends with, he was just to afraid to look for friendship and get rejection. - Jefferson Soul - 06-17-2009
More surprising to himself than others, the brute's lips upturned into a modest smile at the mention that Kansas had been graced with a mate, which obviously meant the bundle of joy in the woman's arms was his child. Briefly, Jefferson regretted bringing news of Iskata's death back into the air when the child commented on it. Kansas had struck him as the humble type; it was hardly a surprise that he had never discussed his parents with his children, being that they were still a bit young to even understand the concept of death. But hell, what did he know? He was a parent in name only; Jefferson had raised Addison, but hadn't been the one to graciously donate the seed required for creation. Somewhere along the line he'd unknowingly fathered a trio that, after he'd absent from their lives for a year, now sought after his blood. Some father he was turning out to be.
- Savina Marino - 06-30-2009
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v515/ ... pupban.jpg); background-position: bottom center; background-repeat: no-repeat;"> God I am so sorry, I didn't realize it was my turn ><; 300+ The slight smile did much and more to finishing easing the discomfort that she had felt when this encounter had first started. Perhaps they had simply gotten off on the wrong foot and were now turning things around. Her gaze turned back to Mahlouk for a moment or two. The hybrid was a strange one, a bit of a puzzle. She had never met someone so wholly unable to socialize before. It was bizarre. The craving for companionship was in their genes, how had he been passed over in gaining the necessary skills for interaction? Or maybe they had been taken from him. Either way the woman had a hard time adjusting to having him around. She wished Jazper could do more to acclimate him to pack life. Savina wouldn't mind helping, but she had enough on her plate with her duties to the pack and raising her children. The dark fey nodded her head. Yes, Geneva was indeed that. Though there had always been a sadness in her as well. Of course the smaller wolfess had had good reason. Losing your mate and your litter was enough to knock anyone down for the count. But in her months in Crimson Dreams she had seemed to recover. She had seemed to be perfectly content here and she had been convinced that Geneva would be one of the ones who would stay with them for life. That, quite obviously, had not turned out to be the case. Though she was interested to hear that the Patriarch had told her to return here. The fact that she refused wounded the woman, however there was no outward sign of it. "She was just as cryptic with me when she left. I tried to convince her that whatever it was that was bothering her could be mended, but she wouldn't listen." Savina shrugged her shoulders. Geneva had only been back twice, once for the birth of her children. Though even then she had left almost as quickly as she had come. Perhaps the femme hadn't been truthful with her about everything and that made a tiny bit of animosity grow within her. - Jefferson Soul - 07-13-2009
Geneva knew how to pick and choose her secrets. Jefferson had never imagined the girl to reveal information such as Jordan or her child to him when such things seemed so dear to her heart and still tender (as evidenced by her furiosity when he'd stupidly brushed their names aside). Yet it seemed no one knew exactly what was driving her anymore. Her reasons were simple ones, finding a new life to live or a way to turn around from the memories that haunted her, but as her stay in Phoenix Valley spanned on and on, the cyclops had his suspicions that such things had not been the case in a long while. Someone in Crimson Dreams had driven her away from the lands; whoever they were, they must have been worse in personality than Jefferson himself, since the Patriarch had tried to no end to push her away only to find her coming right back. For a brief moment, he was almost threatened by the notion that there was someone out there who really could scare Geneva away. She must have left Crimson Dreams for some reason.
- Savina Marino - 07-15-2009
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v515/ ... pupban.jpg); background-position: bottom center; background-repeat: no-repeat;"> 300+ Gotham repositioned himself in her arms. He had been laying on his back, but he squirmed and wriggled until he was on his belly. Savina smiled down at her son and gently pet the top of his soft, dark head. She was glad that it was him with her right now and not her daughters. Cambria probably would have been startled by Jefferson's appearance and that same appearance would have prompted a flood of questions from Amata. But her quiet, calm boy was perfect for a situation like this. He watched and observed, undoubtedly taking everything in, but not feeling the need to speak unless he truly didn't understand something. He remembered meeting the lady named Geneva who was the subject of this conversation and she had seemed nice, but now he also found himself wondering why she would have left Crimson Dreams. Had Geneva been close to anyone here. Yes, of course she had. "Yes, she was close to many of us. Myself, our Commander Naniko, Anu, their children, my brother. She was quite a prominent member of the pack and we all loved her." It was for those reasons that her refusal to stay was even more puzzling. She knew that she and Anu had been very close and Anu hadn't wanted her to leave any more than the rest of them. As much as such questions nagged at her, she had other things to worry about, like the wolves that still lived here. It wasn't that she didn't care about Geneva, but the woman had made her choice. "We try our best to live a quiet and peaceful life here. Of course that doesn't always happen, as I'm sure you know." Any pack leader knew of the troubles that inevitably arose. Trouble couldn't be avoided forever. - Jefferson Soul - 07-28-2009
It became apparent that Geneva played a similar role in Crimson Dreams as she did now, willingly serving as a bit of an adviser for the pack's leadership. It was no surprise to him; Geneva was the socialite he wasn't, but in the end, even the stubborn, one-eyed Jefferson could see that they somehow worked off of one another. However, if Geneva left Crimson Dreams so suddenly when she had played such an important, beloved role in the pack, would that mean she could leave Phoenix Valley just as easily and suddenly, without prominent reason or even a glance over her shoulder in regret?
- Savina Marino - 07-28-2009
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v515/ ... pupban.jpg); background-position: bottom center; background-repeat: no-repeat;"> You can reply once more or I can close it up, just let me know This encounter was definitely an interesting one. Not bad really, just a tad awkward. It was clear that Jefferson wasn't exactly the most social of creatures. Strange that one such as him would take up the role of leader in a pack, a role that came with some very social aspects. Savina had always been one to get along with most anyone, so that part of it had been quite easy for her. Her biggest concern was making sure she did right by those she was in charge of. It was her job to keep them safe and content from unneeded trouble. A task that her very members at times made difficult. Really, though, they had only had the one troublemaker who was now no longer with them. She was glad to be rid of that particular dog. Well, it was refreshing to hear that none of her members had been causing any problems for Phoenix Valley. It seemed most of Crimson Dreams' pack conflicts came between them and Dahlia de Mai. On various occasions there had been troubles caused by members, it was annoying. Thankfully she wasn't worried about anything ever escalating. She and Cercelee were friends, surely anything serious could be avoided. Emerald eyes blinked at his sudden admission that he should leave. That was a little odd, and abrupt, but she wasn't going to argue. "Very well then. It was good to meet you Jefferson." She gave the man a curt nod. "Bye's," Gotham called out. |
