- Tayui Aston - 09-18-2009 WC: 370
Tayui knew it was time for Claudius to begin meeting other children his age and to begin, well, interacting; unfortunately, Claudius disagreed. He disagreed to the point of hysterics, and it had taken some time for Tayui to calm him down and convince him that this was an adventure, nothing like what he had imagined! After all, the boy did spend a lot of time playing with his sisters (who, for the most part, spent a great deal of that time protecting him from Attila). Tayui was worried he would not grow up with the interpersonal skills required of most canines today, especially in Aniwaya. The tribe was not just a tribe, but a home and a family to them. So far, Claudius had been unable to connect with anyone but Tayui and Dawali. For some reason, he was deathly afraid of Honoré, and although he liked Aurèle a great deal, he wasn't willing to explore their tentative friendship any longer. Now that Aurèle had departed with her two sons, Claudius had been moping around quite a bit.
- Addison - 09-18-2009
Addison felt a lot better now that she had eaten, her paw still holding one more of them down to the ground. She looked at them with considering blue and gold eyes, not sure if it would be worth it to swallow the thing and end its life. She had discovered a very large nest of mice beneath a log and had swallowed many of the littler ones without chewing, their tiny pink, barely-furred bodies going down easy. She wasn't sure if she ought to eat the bigger ones or not, if she should pick through their fur to get to the meat. The animal squeaked and struggled beneath her paw and she felt a prick of pain. Her eyebrows knit together and she let up a tiny bit, then put all of her weight onto that one paw, crushing the mouse. Stupid mice. Halo's rats had done a real number on her both physically and psychologically...and though this little mouse had only been trying to defend itself, the sharp feeling of rodent teeth on her had made her react with anger. She didn't even want to eat it any more. The mix-colored wolf flicked the dead mouse aside, still frowning. Now her day was ruined. - Tayui Aston - 09-18-2009 no worries. :3
They had not even arrived in Dahlia de Mai territory, and already, there was a young girl. Tayui was not sure how to go about it -- how does one introduce their son as a lonely, fearsome boy who could not make his own friends? She winced, wishing there was an easier way to say it. But if she were to be honest, he really was quite lonely -- and quite shy, which she supposed contributed to his fears of, well, everything. Perhaps if Tayui gave him the little push he needed, he'd be able to start making friends on his own. That's all Tayui wanted -- was for Claudius to be happy.
- Addison - 09-19-2009
She spotted the boy and his mother through the high foliage and her ears perked up with interest. Who else would be out here around Dahlia's borders but another packmember? She hadn't been in the pack for too terribly long, but was trying to improve herself as fast as she could so she could move up the ranks to a higher position. The female was interested in spying, stealing, and deceptions...all things that Tokyo was helping to teach her, over time. Tayui, huh? She said as the other wolf approached. Oh, so they weren't members after all. This made them a little less interesting to her, but she was already out here and the other wolf seemed pretty cool. Not all threatening, and stuff. The lady introduced herself as Tayui Aston and said that the guy with her was her son. He had pretty peculiar markings on him--they intrigued her. Were they tattoo's? She wanted a tattoo really bad. But she'd been told that you had to be a certain age to get them, or something. Was he older than her? Or the same age? "How old are you?" She asked. "I'm Addison D'angelo-Soul. I live in Dahlia, now. Where are you guys from?" - Tayui Aston - 09-19-2009
Tayui nodded in reply to the girl's question, letting her smile widen for a brief moment. She stepped back, hoping to let Claudius do the talking now. Of course, Tayui would stay nearby just in case, as Claudius wasn't nearly as adventurous as his other siblings. And she suspected it would not go over well if she just abandoned him!
- Addison - 09-19-2009
She had started out in Phoenix Valley, but this pack seemed to suit her better. Addison felt comfortable here, even if she didn't have her father around. It was kind of fun getting to go off on her own and do her own thing. Whatever she wanted, whenever she wanted. She liked going on adventures and exploring new things...taking risks and reaping rewards. "I've never heard of the Aston family before, really. I haven't been to a couple of the packs, though...so who knows. I haven't been to that A-a-aniwaya pack before." The way that he had said it...she thought that was the right way to pronounce it. Having not heard the name before, after all. Phoenix Valley made sense...Phoenixes and Valleys. Dahlia de Mai was weird...Inferni was a weird name...and so was this A-a-aniwaya pack, apparently. >"I'm not quite a full adult, but my pack doesn't really treat me like a child...so it's all good. Your pack has a weird name. Dahlia does, too. Why were you guys coming up here? Just to visit? If you want to follow me I could show you around a little...or are you looking for someone special?" She looked past his shy nature and focused on what he was saying, instead. She wouldn't be mean to him on purpose; little scaredy-cats like him needed all the help they could get. She wouldn't be mean. Unless, of course, he made her angry or annoyed her in any way. - Tayui Aston - 09-19-2009 WC: 288
I've never heard of the Aston family before... Addison said. He brightened up instantly at the sound of his name, quickly jumping in to say, "That's okay," before she continued. Oops, he thought to himself, frowning slightly. Tayui didn't like it when his siblings interrupted people. She had never told Claudius not to, but he didn't do it enough to warrant one of Tayui's frowns (or speeches).
- Addison - 09-19-2009
He wasn't half bad--he was standing up to her, anyway, without his mom standing right there beside him. She gave the bigger mother wolf a look before her gold and blue eyes went back to the boy in front of her. Why not? She wasn't doing anything else right now and she'd been pretty bored before...just crushing mice and walking around. She hadn't met anyone new in a while since she had run into Hemming, and they'd found those whale bones. She had taken some of them home to work on them--she had made a nice spoon and bowl out of some of of the bones. Addison had used her knife to shave off little pieces of bone to make them. She also had several bone-beads that she'd made, creating a hole in the middle of them with a small drill-like piece of metal that she had twisted back and forth. She didn't normally wear jewelry, though, and was planning on giving them away once she made enough beads to cover the whole string of the necklace. She must have been mistaken about Aniwaya's name--her words seemed to have upset Claudius, and she shook her head. "I've never been there, okay? I don't know what it's called. So follow me, I guess. Is your mom coming? I can show you some of the cool stuff in my den, maybe." She looked to the mother wolf for permission to start going, unsure if they would want to follow. - Tayui Aston - 09-19-2009
"I th-thought you were being mean to me," he said, frowning slightly. "But it's okay if you weren't," he clarified, trying to smile, but instead, found himself blushing awkwardly. He was the mean one! Maybe he had jumped to conclusions a little and judged her when he shouldn't have. After all, people make mistakes -- lots of them! Claudius made them all the time. In fact, he made more mistakes than he did anything else! He probably shouldn't have been as proud of that as he was, but... it felt nice to be good at something no one else was (even if it was being bad).
- Addison - 09-19-2009
http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee19 ... able_2.png); background-position: bottom center; background-repeat: no-repeat;"> ooc Now that everything was squared away, that he would follow her and that his mother would stay behind, she started walking. He'd follow, definitely. "Naw, I'm not really that mean. Unless someone really pisses me off." She glanced back at him, no smile on her face for a moment. After a second she dropped the frown and replaced it with a grin, her tail sweeping back and forth. It was mostly adults that she didn't like, besides Tokyo and Hemming. They were the bomb, totally. She hadn't been around many who were her own age...and his social awkwardness made him easier for her to talk to and even relate to. "So, Claudius. I was wondering...what's that stuff on your fur? That neat pattern? Is it a tattoo? I want one so bad...but I have to wait until I'm older, I think." She slowed down so that she might walk beside him at a more comfortable pace, making a straight line for her den. They'd be there soon enough, and a good conversation never hurt anyone. - Tayui Aston - 09-19-2009 "...his social awkwardness made him easier for her to talk to and even relate to." <- Awesome.
Claudius tried not to recoil, but again, her words made him flinch. Unless someone really pisses me off? Oh no! Claudius hoped he didn't "piss" her off (why would he pee on her?) because she sounded like she could be really scary if she wanted to! In fact, she looked like she was a bit taller than Claudius, and a bit, well, stronger. Claudius didn't like going outside much, so he was not as tough-looking as a lot of other wolves. He was not even as tough looking as a little coyote -- though, to be fair, the only coyotes he'd heard about sounded mean!
- Addison - 09-19-2009
http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee19 ... able_2.png); background-position: bottom center; background-repeat: no-repeat;"> ooc: XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD peeing on her! You!! XD you can say if they see the den, if you want Addison would definitely agree with anyone who said that coyotes were mean. She hadn't met one that she liked yet! The one that she had met had been horrible...she'd tricked Addi and led her back to an old warehouse, telling her that she was lost and needed help finding her way home. When there, she had forced Addison to sit down and let the rats eat at her, using a gun to keep her there. Jefferson had saved her, thankfully, but not until after the rats had gotten a good chew. "Cool. I've never used dye before...your fur is light, but parts of mine are pretty dark. I wonder if I could dye it. Where did you get yours?" She walked beside him then looked ahead. They weren't too far away from her den, actually. It would be coming into view in just a little bit. She took im through the borders without pause, not afraid of inviting this shy newcomer into her pack. "I dunno. I heard it'll hurt, so maybe I should wait even longer.." - Tayui Aston - 09-23-2009 Well, Claudius is so not into that sort of thing. Aaaand they are at the den now -- Claudius just didn't notice since he is not very observant. :> (WC: 398)
Finally, a topic Claudius could discuss! He liked talked about things he knew -- things he understood and could tell others about. One thing he did know something about was dye; particularly vegetable dye. He Had started writing down the colours plants made, especially different shades of grey. Claudius didn't want his fur to be very bright and noticeable -- just something simple that made him feel different. In a good way.
- Addison - 09-27-2009
http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee19 ... able_2.png); background-position: bottom center; background-repeat: no-repeat;"> He did have some advice for her, which she found interesting--he seemed like a pretty quiet dude, not one who would say something that might make someone like her angry or annoyed. She would try her best not to get mad with him about anything that he said. The guy just looked like he needed to get out in the world a bit. She had been like him, a long time ago. He spoke of the ways of dying fur and she listened with interest, climbing down into her den when they got there. "Leaves, huh? I never hearda that before. I just thought the leaves were there to feed the animals that we eat. I wonder if an animal ate a leaf like that if its mouth would turn black" Her den wasn't very big, but it wasn't tiny, either. Addison had chosen a spot that had already been dug out for a storm cellar and had made it a big bigger, pulling the dirt up out of it with buckets. She had some rugs down on the floor, stuff she'd taken from some Dahlian houses, and had shelves carved out in the dirt of the walls. On those shelves sat her posessions, different knick-knacks that she had taken from one place or another. Some stuff was from the city, other stuff from peoples' abandoned dens or from inside houses. She pulled down her bag of beads and a few of the bones she was carving, along with a knife. "I guess you're right about the tattoo. I have plenty to keep me busy...I can get one when I'm older. These are some of the beads I made--we could turn them into a necklace or something I think" - Tayui Aston - 10-01-2009 WC: 354
Claudius nodded slowly as the girl spoke, listening attentively. She was, perhaps, one of the first wolves who was not his sister, uncle, or aunt that had paid him any attention. Of course, Claudius had not met enough luperci outside of AniWaya to know whether anyone would pay him any heed, but he assumed they would not. It seemed natural to think that he would be ignored, simply because, well, it felt right. Not that he wanted to be ignored! Or, well, sometimes he did, but he could not fault anyone for not knowing when he did and did not want to be ignored. He wouldn't blame anyone if they forgot about him anyways, since it was his fault regardless.
- Addison - 10-05-2009
- Tayui Aston - 10-16-2009
Claudius nodded agreeably, wondering how in the world he had gotten roped in to this dying project. Of course he knew -- he had told Addison about his talents, and now she wanted to put them to good use -- but he liked feigning innocence. It made him feel safe when he rationalized and found ways to push the blame on to someone else; or, to at least move the blame away from himself. He didn't like being the one responsible for things happening, and he most certainly did not want to be implicated later if things got messy...!
|
