- Cambria Marino - 11-08-2009 [html] ohsnap butterflies :o 300+ Cambria was still getting used to her optime form. It felt so weird still. She felt like she was so high up in the air and her proportions were all off. Was it this hard for everyone to get used to? Surely it must be. The Marino had gone outside and shifted and practiced walking back and forth in front of the mansion; the ground outside was a little more forgiving than the floors inside the house if she fell. Thankfully though she hadn't really full-out fell, just stumbled a lot. She hoped that she would start getting the hang of this soon and wouldn't look like such a goof. No one had made fun of her, but she didn't like looking so silly. She had really only just started to be somewhat graceful in her four-legged form and now she had to learn something new. It was a little frustrating, but she was determined. The girl wanted to attain the same poise and grace as the rest of the adults. The Dreamer brushed the bangs from her eyes as she looked up to check the position of the sun. Yikes! She better get over to the windmill! Her father had asked her to meet him there. Taking a deep breath and concentrating hard on her movements she started walking as brusquely as she could manage. She didn't want to be late and make her dad wait! He had said he'd have a surprise for her and honestly she couldn't wait. A giddy smile formed on her face the closer she got to her destination. Any surprise from her father was going to be a good one, she knew. Soon the large old structure of the windmill came into sight and then as she got closer she saw her dad. Instantly her face lit up and her tail began to wag in a happy rhythm. It had been a while since she had done something with her dad, just the two of them, and she was incredibly excited. "Daddy!" she called out, waving her hand at him. She would have liked to run over and and hug him tightly but she knew if she tried to run she'd fall flat on her face and if that happened she'd probably cry and ruin their nice day together. Cambria wasn't going to let anything tarnish her time with him. - Kansas Sadira - 11-11-2009 [html]
- Cambria Marino - 11-11-2009 [html] hehe :3 300+ Cambria also felt a special connection between her and her father. Of course she loved all her family with the same intensity of love, but she and her father were the two that were the most similar to one another. She had that same quiet demeanor that he had and they were both the most comfortable around their loved ones. It had been so long since they had gotten to do anything together and she felt the excitement that was already taking her over bubble up even higher and her eyes sparkled like light reflecting off the sea. Finally was close enough to him and as he greeted her in return she couldn't help but giggle happily, her tail waving from side to side. "Hi!" She still wanted to hug him, but she would wait until he stood up. If she got down to sit it could take her some considerable effort to get back to her feet. Her father mentioned the surprise and she looked at him eagerly. There was more than one part to the surprise? She hadn't expected that! What could it all be? But soon her thoughts were wiped clean as the pretty purple object was held out before her. The girl's eyes grew wide in admiration. "Oooo! What is it?" By the time she had asked her dad had already launched into his explanation of the object. So it could fly? Looking at the thing she wasn't entirely sure how it could fly, it didn't have wings, but she knew that her father must be right about it. Figuring out how to make the pretty thing fly would be fun. "Of course I want to! How is it supposed to work?" Cambria looked over the thing critically, trying to imagine in her mind how it would manage to fly like the birds and the bugs. - Kansas Sadira - 11-13-2009 [html]
- Cambria Marino - 11-13-2009 [html] Awwww :3 300+ Cambria was oblivious to her father's anxiety about whether or not she would want to fly the kite with him or not. It never even occurred to her that he could possibly think that she wouldn't do anything with him. No matter what he had suggested she would have been happy to do it with him, even if it was something as simple as sitting in the mansion and having him read to her. The girl didn't really care what the activity was, if she was with him then she knew that she would have a good time based on that simple fact. She always had a good time with her dad. As he explained how it worked she was better able to picture how it would all work. "Oh! Okay! I think I get it." She wasn't sure what he meant when he said it could do tricks, but it certainly sounded exciting! "The tricks sound fun! Do you know how to make it do the tricks?" She, of course, didn't have the first clue. Then he came back to this other part of the surprise. He had gotten her something else? That was so nice of him! He hadn't needed to, the kite and learning to fly it with him would have certainly been enough, but she watched with an excited light in her eyes as he dug around in his bag. Finally he turned back around to her and held out his fist. The girl examined his closed hand curiously and squeaked a little when it opened and revealed the shiny object inside. As she took it in and realized what it was her mouth hung open and she could feel a few tears sting at her eyes. Cambria had always dreamed of having a pretty necklace like her momma had, and no necklace could have possibly fit her better than the one her father had found for her. "DADDY!" she squealed happily and she threw her arms around his neck and hugged him tight. "It's so pretty daddy! I love it! Thank you so much!" Her head turned to plant a kiss on his cheek. Cambria had the best father in the world. - Kansas Sadira - 11-19-2009 [html]
- Cambria Marino - 11-22-2009 [html] Sorry, this is kinda blah D: 300+ Even though she was growing up she still had the image of her parents as these kind of immortal figures and that they could do no wrong. Deep down she understood and knew that they were not perfect, because nobody was, but if anyone came close to perfection it was her mother and father. She would have never imagined that her dad wasn't nearly as confident as she saw him. He was so smart and so sweet and caring. Cambria only saw his good qualities and even if there were some flaws she didn't recognize them. The only one in their family that she ever thought of as flawed was herself. There had been the bad thing and she wasn't brave like Gotham or outgoing like Amata. It was odd that she viewed her own shy and quiet nature as something not quite right but when she saw it in her father it was only perceived as good. The girl was amazed that he had found a necklace that fit her so well. The way she saw it, the only person who could have found her such a perfect and amazing gift was him. She had always hoped that she would get a necklace from him, but for some reason had been shy to ask about it. Not to mention it was only a few days ago that she had been able to start shifting and truly enjoy a necklace and wear it. As he picked her up she giggled with pure elation. It was moments like these that the girl treasured above all else. It was these kind of moments where she felt like she was just fine and none of her quirks were a bad thing. Her tail waved back and forth as she was set back down and he asked her to turn around so he could put it on her. "Okay!" With more grace than she thought herself capable of she spun around and waited to feel the slight chain to be clasped around her neck. - Kansas Sadira - 11-22-2009 [html]
- Cambria Marino - 11-24-2009 [html] I love dis thread :3 300+ It was strange, she noticed some thing so easily and other things completely escaped her. Well, not completely escaped her. She noticed them, but they didn't stick out as much as the negatives did and she couldn't say why. It was mostly when she was left to her own thoughts that the lack of confidence and feeling of inadequacy hit her. That and when she was out of her element and away from the things that made her feel comfortable. When she was with her family though, like she was now, all those worrisome thoughts and feelings seemed to melt away and all that was left was a good, warm feeling. Like she was where she was meant to be and with beings that loved and cherished her. This was one of the reasons the girl had never had any desire to leave Crimson Dreams, even for a short while. It was here and with her loving family that she felt good, about herself and overall. Why would she possibly want to be anywhere else? Her father loved her just the way she was, and that did amazing things for the girl, whether she noticed them or not. Cambria felt the necklace drape over her chest and an elated feeling jolted through her. She had her own necklace! She was wearing it! And best of all her daddy had given it to her. She knew that whenever she had it on she'd feel better, because it would make her think of her dad and how much he loved her. It gave her a boost of confidence that she had not expected. Chocolate tail waved expectantly as he walked around to look at it on her, eyes shimmering with hope. Of course he would never say anything other than she was pretty, but still she craved those words and his approval like the air she breathed. When that single word came from him her smile grew exponentially, crinkling her face. "Thank you Daddy!" she piped softly once again. If she had ever felt beautiful, it was right here in this moment. The young Marino took her father's hand and got back to her feet and took the spool, looking at it curiously. She listened to his instructions and stood there for a moment to take it all in and when she thought she had it she nodded her head once. "Okay! Here goes!" Holding tight onto the spool she started to run as fast as she was able without stumbling and waited to hear word from her father on whether or not it was working. - Kansas Sadira - 12-06-2009 [html]
- Cambria Marino - 12-22-2009 [html] 300+ Cambria did her best to never think about what had happened to her. For months it had been the only thing she could think of and now she didn't want to have it plague her anymore than it already did. What had happened to her felt like a black mark on her soul that would never go away and white monsters haunted her some nights. She hated that powder and she hated the wolf that had brought it into the mansion. Nothing would ever convince her to feel otherwise on either subject of her torture and she was glad the old Commander was gone. Hopefully she would never ever have to see her or think about her again. Out of sight, out of mind. Thankfully none of these demons worried the girl now. She was with her father, and he chased all of the bad things away simply with his presence. She ran, holding onto the spool and mostly focusing on going as fast as she could and not fall down. That would be really bad if she fell and somehow managed to mess up the kite that her daddy had no doubt worked hard to find. Her cream-tipped ears flicked back as she heard his voice and gradually she came to a stop and her sea foam eyes looked up to the sky and saw the kite dancing in the wind. It was much more beautiful and graceful than it looked like it possibly could have been and she looked at the object with adoration, wishing to join it. The spool in her hands tugged and she remembered the instruction that she had to hold tight. Cambi smiled as he joined her. "It's so pretty daddy!" She was so glad they were getting to do this together. It wouldn't have been as special otherwise. - Kansas Sadira - 12-26-2009 [html]
- Cambria Marino - 12-27-2009 [html] 300+ Perhaps one day she would wish to talk about what had happened to her, but now it was still too close. Even thinking about it still made a chill run up her spin and her heart clenched in fear. It brought tears to her eyes that would not stop until someone made her feel safe again. What scared her the most about it, especially as she got older, was the sensation her body had had of wanting more of the powder. She simply couldn't understand why she would want more after how awful it had been. Even if she couldn't understand it, she knew that it wasn't good and it frightened her that she had felt that way. Why anyone would ever want to have that horrible stuff around was beyond her and an unforgivable offense in her mind. When the girl felt her father's hand on her shoulder she couldn't help but lean into him and smile. Sometimes she wished she could be small again like she had been when he had carried her to that beach and they had met Mr. Jefferson. She couldn't think of a time where she felt more secure than in the arms of her daddy. Cambria knew that she would never be that small again, but as long as he was never more than a howl away then she would be happy. She watched curiously as he tugged on the string of the kite and squealed with excitement as the kite responded to the tug in the air. "That's so neat daddy!" The girl wasn't really sure what would make the kite do another trick like that, but she would give it a try. Holding onto the spool tightly with one hand, the other moved to the string. She copied what her father had done, but in the other direction and it did another swoop. Her tail wagged happily. "I wonder what else it can do, I don't want to do something wrong and break it..." It would be very upsetting if something happened to their kite. - Kansas Sadira - 01-17-2010 [html]
- Cambria Marino - 01-22-2010 [html] Sure! SoSuWriMo 378 She had never resented her parents for not giving her more of the powder and she had been terrified by the fact that it had craved more of the drug. She had felt no pleasurable effects from sniffing the stuff, it had been a horrible experience. While she hadn't realized it at the time, looking back she knew that she had been close to death while in the grips of the drug and what it had done to her little body and mind. Why anyone would ever willingly take such a horrible powder was beyond her and it only made her hatred and fear towards the woman that had had it in their home grow. Cambria wasn't prone to such negative feelings directed towards another, but this case was an exception. She hated Naniko and blamed her fully for what had happened. She would never forgive her, not ever, and she hoped that she never had to see her again. It would be best if she could be wiped from her memory completely, though she knew that would never happen. It was burned into her psyche, never to go away. The girl smiled brightly up at her father, her tail wagging wildly in the excitement and happiness that were flowing through her. Eagerly she handed the spool over to him, incredibly curious to see this other trick with the kite that he apparently knew. Carefully she watched his movements and listened to his words, not wanting to miss anything. Then her sea foam eyes shot back up to the sky to watch how it had affected the kite. She clapped her hands as it spun around, the movement mesmerizing and dizzying. When he came back over to her she took the spool and moved once again to copy what he had shown her. "Okay!" Delicate fingers pulled on the string and she moved forward and pulled more, the kite high above following her actions and spinning around as it had before. A gleeful giggle bubbled up from her chest as she ran around with the kite. The girl really couldn't think of a time where she had felt so happy and had so much fun. Cambria hoped that she and her father would do this again, and soon. |
