In a moment she was sure that the clouded sky had opened it gates and it had begun to rain. A drop fell on her crown, and then another on her wet nose. It was cold, colder then any rain Anu had faced. She stopped abruptly, looking around to find that there was no rain beyond her snout. It was something far different. Eyes crossed as she focused on the heavy white blob that fell from the Sun’s throne. Such a thing wasn’t normal, she was sure of it. Stories of spring and summer were all that filled her mind, and the spawn of winter was foreign to the little tawny female.
They continued to fall, and Anu began to worry. Quickly she moved with hopes of avoiding the large snowflakes. Darting through the trees that had no leaves to protect her from the assault Anu ran until she was faced with a fallen log. It was large, it’s branches still spouting from its central trunk and she struggled to climb over it. Black claws clung to the dieing wood, and with a mighty heave the pup made it over the fallen soldier and beyond its protective wall. It was a vast rampart; wooden spikes protruding outward to stop those that might hope to charge the gate.
Her breath came heavily, and the gray and brown youth counted to ten before opening her eyes. At the last digit she allowed the baby blues to blink and with a new found courage she peered over the battlement. The furry of the clouds had not ceased, but increased with a power unknown to the girl. The white covered the ground, slowly but surly swallowing the leaf litter that she was used to. They were monsters, white in coat and with eyes as cold as vermilion poisons. What was she to do? Alone in with such creatures charging her parapet. Anu let two paws climb the log, looking beyond the twiggy watchtowers and let an angry growl escape her throat - Savina Marino - 11-22-2009 [html] http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v515/ ... pupban.jpg); background-position: top center; background-repeat: no-repeat;"> Puppy Power! The dark little pup wandered further and further away from her den. Usually she did not go out on her own, usually she went out with at least her brother if not her brother and sister. Mama came out a lot too. But today both Ehno and Ghita were not feeling well and mama had to take care of them and that left Savina very bored. She had sat and listened to her mama's stories for a little while but then she had had the urge to move around and so had asked permission and now was out on her own personal adventure. It was kind of scary...but exciting too! She hoped that she could find something neat to show her family! Or come up with a fun new game that she could teach to them! Ehno would be jealous of her going on an adventure without him, but it was more an expedition to find fun new things for them to do than her trying to branch out on her own. Her brother was her exploration partner and she would never choose going out on her own over going with him. The further the little Italian girl walked the more different the scenery around her became. That was odd. She didn't remember any of the forests looking like this. Not only were the woods changing, but the temperature was as well. It had gone from normal to cold almost in an instant. She shivered. What was going on? This was getting weird and kinda creepy. Out of habit she looked to her side but there was no one there. No brave and valiant brother to keep her courage up and no mama to explain the odd phenomenon. She didn't think she had gone all that far from home, but maybe she had? With everything looking so different would she be able to find her way back? Her ears dipped and tail tucked at that frightening thought. She was about to turn and rush back home when she heard a growl up ahead. It wasn't a scary adult growl though, it sounded more like a puppy. Her curiousity piqued back up. Maybe she could ask the other puppy where this was and then play with them a bit. It would be fun to make a new friend. Savina continued forward but soon her little emeralds grew wide in horror and fear. There was white stuff on the ground and falling from the sky! What was this place?! One of the flakes floated down close to her face and she barked defensively, jumping back. Her attention was now fully on this strange and very wrong occurrence, the existence of another pup temporarily forgotten. - Anu - 11-22-2009 [html]
xD
A bark, a single voice among the flurries that fall against her rampart. Anu perked, and looked over the log to find a shadow of a figure fighting just as she was. The young wolf was in the mists of a deadly dance against the foul creatures that Anu hoped to defeat. Reinforcements! Anu gave the Sun her praise, and felt her tail wag with excitement behind her. Overcome with the idea the pup bounced off the tree, running in a tight circle behind it. She stopped abruptly, her breath ragged but with a smile on her face. Front paws back against the log she looked out onto the battlefield and called out. “Exs’cuse me.” Her powerful call to arms came as a soft and meek voice. “Hi… Hi!” She said to get the attention of the green eyed girl. Maybe she didn’t want to play; maybe she would hate her and run away before Anu could offer her an alliance. - Savina Marino - 11-24-2009 [html] http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v515/ ... pupban.jpg); background-position: top center; background-repeat: no-repeat;"> It was everywhere! What was this stuff?! The pup tried to dodge as much of it as she could but eventually a white flake landed on her nose and she yelped in surprise. It was cold! Like, really cold! Nothing was ever cold like that where she lived. Had she magically traveled to some strange world where it rained cold, nasty flakes? Even if it was cool she had found some magical invisible portal, she didn't like this world with its strange cold flakes and wanted to go home. Panic hit her then. What if it was a she could come here but couldn't leave type of deal? Oh no! Ears folded against her head and her tail tucked up against her belly. Oh no, no, no, no. This wasn't good. This was very bad. Very, very bad. The little girl whimpered, wishing she was just back at home with her family and not in this awful, scary, mixed up place. As she stood there, frozen, trying to imagine how to get back home she thought she heard a voice. Sable ears lifted back up slightly and she looked around, trying to determine if another strange thing about this place was voices that came out of nowhere. Thankfully, it seemed this place wasn't as weird as that as she found another puppy. That's right! She had heard someone else and that's why she had come over here in the first place. "Hi...what dis places? Huh? What dis cold stuffs? I do not likes." Her words were heavily accented in Italian and she hoped that this puppy would understand her. This puppy did not speak like she did. - Anu - 11-26-2009 [html]
i didn't see this reply until now ><
- Savina Marino - 11-28-2009 [html] http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v515/ ... pupban.jpg); background-position: top center; background-repeat: no-repeat;"> Her muzzle and brow was crinkled in disgust for this floaty, white, cold rain. She didn't know which god had come up with this stuff, but she certainly did not approve. She liked warm things not cold things. Well, cool water was okay, but not super cold, that was no good. It seemed that she was not alone in this displeasure as the other pup seemed to be just as distraught by the occurrence as she was. Savina's head cocked to the side at the plea. Why wouldn't she come out? Was it somehow safer behind that fallen tree? The pup didn't know, but she was not from wherever this was and so she guessed that this pup knew more than she did, so she would trust her. "Okies." She hurriedly trotted over to the fallen giant and propped herself against the side with her front paws. How did she get over there? When she looked to ask the other puppy they had disappeared from sight. The Italian girl whined, wondered where the other had gone. How did she get over the stupid tree? She pawed at it, but the tree would not budge. Her ears fell back and she growled at it, but it would still not respond. Suddenly the other pup popped back up though, now with a stick in her mouth. "I twies!" she complained. An idea struck her and she back up and bit and looked intently at the log, her little rear wiggling in the air. Then she charged forward and at the right moment jumped up. Savi landed squarely on top of the log and the air was knocked out of her. Back paws scrambled to push her the rest of the way over and she unceremoniously dropped to the other side. She said back up in a daze, blinking in hopes of returning her vision to normal. - Anu - 11-28-2009 [html]
Blue eyes looked at the pup’s face, blinking and a smile plastered on her face. Her hips wiggled at the notion of the new little lady behind the log with her, her tail waving tall. The tawny gray girl turned, setting the stick down and then returning to the obviously dazed pup. She was even prettier up close, and Anu was lucky to have her for a new friend.
Her friend looked confused, and Anu cocked her head to the side and asked.
- Savina Marino - 11-29-2009 [html] http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v515/ ... pupban.jpg); background-position: top center; background-repeat: no-repeat;"> Her world was blurry and she was seeing double from her not-so-graceful jump over the log. She sat there swaying slightly from side to side. When the...wait, there were two other pups now? Her brows bunched together and then she closed her eyes and shook her head. No, that couldn't be right. This place was odd and different but it couldn't be so strange as that someone could make copies of themselves. One emerald eye popped open and found only one pup and when she opened her other eye there was still only one. Good! That was much better. The other girl was very excited and Savina just continued to look at her curiously. "Halps? Halps do wats?" What exactly had she unknowingly volunteered herself for? "An' sees wat?" The wind howled up above and Savi looked up, the sky a very ominous presence at the moment. The other puppy had moved to look over the side of the log again and she followed her, front paws resting on the side of the fallen tree once again. The girl growled and Savi looked out as she was instructed. When the word "monsters" was uttered though it fell into place in her head. The white things were evil cold monsters! Oh no! It was a good thing that the other pup had found her and taken her into her fort! Who knows what the monsters could have done to her undefended! "They's ebils!" she exclaimed, growling at the nasty things as her comrade was doing. "How does we defeats them? Oh, n' I'm Savina, who is yous?" How silly! They hadn't introduced themselves yet. Though she supposed they were caught in somewhat dire circumstances so the breach in manners could easily be excused. - Anu - 12-01-2009 [html]
Silver and brown painted face hardened as she looked to the battlement. - Savina Marino - 12-02-2009 [html] http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v515/ ... pupban.jpg); background-position: top center; background-repeat: no-repeat;"> my posts are probably going to be getting pretty short since I won't have much time to write D: Savina found herself wishing her brother was here. Ehno would know exactly what to do to defeat these evil cold monsters. He would have a perfect plan in mind. She wished her sister was here too, to help them fight because she wasn't sure that the two of them would be enough. It was a little unsettling. Right now they had the protection of the fort, but they would have to leave sometime to get food and water. Not to mention she didn't want to be stuck here forever! She wanted to go back to her family! The lighter pup jumped back from the log and walked around, clearly trying to formulate a strategy for them to get rid of the monsters. Savi watched her attentively, wondering what she was thinking. She seemed more experienced though, and she would certainly have more knowledge on how to defeat them than she would herself. Though as she learned the other's name a smile came back to her face. "Hi's Anu!" It was good to know what to call her now instead of just "the other puppy". She knew that she wouldn't like it if someone kept calling her that instead of her name. Things quickly turned serious though as Anu's face hardened and the Italian girl's body froze in anticipation of the plan of action. Charging seemed dangerous, they were outnumbered, but Savi didn't see any alternatives. "Okies, but how wills we fights dem?" Running out there without a plan of attack would be suicide! - Anu - 12-05-2009 [html]
no worries lovey!
Eyes looked with bright anticipation, - Savina Marino - 12-07-2009 [html] http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v515/ ... pupban.jpg); background-position: top center; background-repeat: no-repeat;"> <333 A sneak attack? Yes, that would make the most sense and also have the best chance of success. If they could surprise the evil cold monsters then they might just have a chance at victory despite the enemy's greater numbers. The question was though, how would they launch such a surprise offensive? Anu's voice lowered to a very quiet pitch and the girl's large triangular ears strained forward so that her comrade wouldn't have to speak any louder than absolutely necessary. The blue eyes looked around to make sure they weren't being spied upon and Savi helped to look as well. It seemed that they were safe however, and so she listened intently to the plan. It was a daring plan, and dangerous, but the excitement in Anu's voice and body was contagious and she couldn't help but think they would surely succeed. "Dat's a good plans!" Now was the question as to which task they would each perform. The Italian pup's bottom lip stuck out in contemplation, her emerald eyes staring up at the bare branches far above their heads. "Weeeeeeeellssss..." she said. "Maybes I should be teh distractions. My fur, it is very darks, and da monsters might sees me if I climbed da trees. You, your furs, it will blends in much better wif da trees an so's you won't be seens as easily as I woulds." It was sound reasoning, she thought, but she would wait and see what her sister in arms thought. It was her master plan and her fort. - Anu - 12-07-2009 [html]
The pup smiled when the dark furred complimented her plan. Eyes fell to the ground at the thought, Anu had hoped that she would like it. When the emerald eyed pup spoke again Anu looked to her with grown anticipation. She hadn't even thought of that! It was true, the shiny ebony pelt would catch the eyes of the monsters and allow her to sneak up behind them.
- Savina Marino - 12-11-2009 [html] http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v515/ ... pupban.jpg); background-position: top center; background-repeat: no-repeat;"> She waited anxiously to see if Anu would agree with her logic on the topic of who should distract and who should be the sneak attacker. It appeared that it had indeed been a good plan and Savina perked, glad that she had been able to contribute to the planning process of their great and brave plan. "Gwreats!" Her comrade's compliment caught her off guard and her smile grew so wide it hurt her face. "Tanks Anu! You's smarts too!" The girl's confidence was up high in the sky now and she knew that the plan couldn't possibly fail, not when it had been conceived but two such intelligent pups! The mood once again turned serious and the smile turned into a hard, determined expression. "Got its," she said nodding her head for emphasis that she understood how things would go from now. Emerald eyes watched as Anu headed off into the foliage and the countdown started in her head. She looked at the fort wall and backed up as she had when she had jumped last time. Her jaw clenched and ebony lips raised to reveal the bright rows of sharp puppy teeth. Body tensed like a coil, preparing to be the scariest force that the white cold monsters had ever seen. Ten! Savina launched forward with all her might and sailed over the wall of the protective fort. Once she landed she snarled and growled and barked, her green eyes on fire with challenge, sable fur standing in a tall line down her back. All the monsters turned to face her and she could see that they were no longer so sure of their greater numbers. Though soon they realized that this pup was alone and they began to advance upon her. Savi stood her ground though, continuing to be as fearsome and menacing as she possibly could. - Anu - 12-12-2009 [html]
The young wolf bounded outward, tail in the air as high as any war banner. The stick in her mouth was whipped side to side as she brought the enemy ranks to their knees. Destruction surrounded her, but it was she who created it. The world became nothing but a fog of white; a world void was color. Deep rumbling growls rattled her ribcage and Anu ignored their cold weapons and propelled her small form towards the dark furred lady-knight. Her sword blurred with swift motions, left to right and up and down. The enemy was everywhere, but so was she. It was horrible, as any could imagine. The small warrior could hardly bare the sight, her eyes squinting against the carnage.
Clumsy paws stepped through the snow, hopping and running as she tried to slay the snowflakes that fell from the gray sky. The pup looked as if she was frolicking, though within her imagination it was very different. But the first snow of winter was not something ugly or demonic as Anu had thought. The flakes road the cold wind lazily, falling lightly to create ankle deep drifts of soft powder. The girl blinked, looking at the other pup, who’s side Anu had finally made it too. The stick in her mouth fell, sinking into the white fluff and Anu looked around. She couldn’t stopped the smile, and licked the snow off her nose and exclaimed,
Bubbles of laughter filter through the air, and the silver tinted pup pranced around her new friend. The monsters were gone, chased away. All that was left were the two newfound friends and a winter wonderland. - Savina Marino - 12-12-2009 [html] http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v515/ ... pupban.jpg); background-position: top center; background-repeat: no-repeat;"> The monsters advanced closer and closer and Savina pulled her lips up as far as she could. Never before had she made such a scary face and she knew it must be frightening the beasts at least a little bit. Surely she had to be a little frightening! Soon though Anu would jump out and take all the evil creatures by surprise and they would learn the folly of their ways. Though seconds ticked by and the other pup did not hop out to launch the surprise attack. The dark girl started needing to take steps back from the enemy so they would not catch her and hold her hostage. Just when fear began to leak into her heart though Anu flew into the fray with untamed fury and the monsters howled in fear and pain. When they turned to see their new assailant Savi jumped and struck out with her teeth and claws, swiping and biting at every enemy she could. It was a fearsome battle and the cold monsters had obviously underestimated the two pup's military skills and prowess. Even she hadn't known that she could be such a dangerous opponent. After what seemed like forever the battle slowed and it seemed that their victory had been complete. As she looked around though the white cold flakes were still everywhere, but as she looked to Anu the other girl smiled and Savina couldn't help but to smile back. Maybe the flakes weren't so bad after all. She didn't like the cold, but they were kind of pretty. Following the other's lead she licked the flakes from her nose and it did give her tongue a funny kind of nice feeling. "Yahs, it kinda does." Her new friend laughed and so did she, starting to prance around with her, exulting in the joys of victory and a newly formed bond. |
