- Gabriel de le Poer - 01-04-2010
This is dated to January 3rd
They had failed, and something had to be done. Gabriel, fresh cuts on his body, stalked through the cold morning air with Samael trailing behind him. The fury in his body was radiating heat, but it now was no longer his alone. His mother had been wronged. Inferni had been wronged. No part of this could go unpunished, and Gabriel intended to see this finished. Quickly, the charcoal-brushed coy-wolf made his way towards the center of the territory, and let out a demanding cry. There was no option—this was clear in his voice. And Inferni came, one after another, each face puzzled, waiting for an explanation. Gabriel did not wait long before he began speaking. “As of today, we are at war.” There was a moment’s pause—a moment in which faces changed in a dozen different ways. “Dahlia de Mai is now being led by a madman, Haku Soul. He has attacked us before, and recently attacked our Centurion.” No further explanation was needed. What had happened to Kaena was terrible, but it was not his place to use it as a banner for his own personal battle. “You are not to allow any wolves past our borders. Dahlia de Mai has invaded our home before, and I don’t put it past them to do so again.” That was all he had to say, and the Aquila fell silent, knowing that more voices would soon join his own.
- Halo Lykoi - 01-04-2010
<style type="text/css">#ásmundrdec29 b {color:#4b525d; font-weight:bold;} #ásmundrdec29 {margin:auto; width:455px; padding:10px; padding-bottom:150px; border:1px solid #fff; background:url(http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y199/l ... enshot.png) bottom no-repeat #8d9297; font:12px georgia; color:#bec0c3; line-height:12px; text-align:justify;}</style> SSWM 379
She had already planned to take a trip over to Dahlia de Mai to deal with the scumbag of a male already. Despite the promise of a war spoken by the Aquila himself, Halo felt her mind withering in the presence of her own monster and rapist. Although she had been swift as a young deer to come to her Aquila’s aid when his demanding cry had penetrated the air, her enthusiasm had been strangled the moment she had seen Gabriel’s companion. Samael’s blood red eyes had seen her and she had felt fear filtering into the heart that she had believed to be strong. Her body wanted to cringe away and she was unsure if she should just let go, turn around and flee the scene. The fear of dire consequences forced the Hydra to stay, but the discomfort was too grand for her to remain untouched. She had carried her inner wounds for so long now that she decided that people would probably not notice. If they did they would not care because the Aquila’s words were much more important and needed full focus.
Had she been free and rid of Samael’s shadow she would have sought a spot closer to her Aquila. As his warrior she felt the need to draw closer. She wanted to fight for him and Inferni, but everything was overshadowed by her other uncle, the cruel prince of fear. She did not like to openly display her vulnerable state, but she could not change it more than she could change the weather. She acknowledged the leader’s words, but had no voice to speak up as long as the bastard was standing there next to her leader. She wanted to cry and draw her sword from the sheath on her back and slice him up like he had once sliced up Charon, the wolf that had given her the twin swords. There would never be a day where she would be free from the horrible scene he had created. Oversized ears pushed against her dark copper hair. She could not care less if anyone saw how upset she was. It was time for war and she would finally be able to test out her new skills properly. - Cotl - 01-04-2010
- Hybrid Holocaust - 01-04-2010 450.
Hybrid did not hesitate to answer Gabriel's call. He heard it, ringing true and clear through the lands of Inferni. He quickly made his way to where Gabriel was waiting, wondering if the leader would be joined by Kaena as well. Since their wolf hunt, Hybrid had begun to question his initial beliefs about weakness inherent in females. Perhaps this weakness was the rule, and figures such as Kaena and Rielle -- whom he had not seen in some time, years even -- were the exception. Perhaps although most females were weak, especially those of the wolven sort, there were some who could be trained to be strong. Although this in part could be seen as proof of his initial assumptions, it also opened up many new possibilities. He wondered if Halo could ever be trained to match her male counterparts in strength and blood lust. Perhaps Hybrid had been too quick to judge her.
- Anselm de le Poer - 01-04-2010
http://i950.photobucket.com/albums/ad34 ... s/truc.png); background-repeat:no-repeat; padding-top:187px; background-position:top center; background-color:#F8BB4D; text-align:justify; font-family:georgia; font-size:11px; color:#AB360D; line-height:15px;padding-bottom:10px;">So Kim is on absence, but she's still listed as a loner... just in case that was missed X:
@&$The call had started him from his sleep but he had come quickly, leaving Alacrity behind. Whatever news there was he could deliver to her in the warmth of the den--he didn't think it would do her much good to be out in the bitter cold of a January morning. Sooner or later he'd have to do something for her, and by the scent of blood and Gabriel's words, he saw that time had run out: he had no choice. Certain things would have to happen immediately. The painted woman would need clothes (silly as the concept had always seemed) in case they had to run and retreat; construction of Inferni's greenhouse would need to commence at once. Odds were they wouldn't have anything viable for months, but who knew how long the battle would last? @&$That Haku now stood at Dahlia's helm did not necessarily surprise him--he'd never understood the strange relationship between Cercelee and her pet devil in the first place. It was only a matter of time before the shit-brown demon snapped the leash she'd placed around his neck and went berserk. He was downright horrified to hear that both Kaena and now Gabriel had been attacked; why hadn't he heard of this sooner? Cotl's exclamation caused his ears to fall back and others seemed excited, and here he looked to the leader alone. His voice was low; Anselm was not so enthusiastic about the situation. "That man is sick," he said. "Kill the head and the body will crumble." He was certainly not trying to tell the Aquila what to do--he was just voicing his frank thoughts on the matter. Some of the Dahlian wolves were downright agreeable; it was just their psychopath of a leader that had always given them headaches. @&$Anselm was convinced that as soon as Haku was taken out, the rest of his hapless minions would relent. The Dahlian alpha was not above attacking his own mate or kin, as he'd recently discovered--he wondered if any of them would pledge loyalty to the wolf at all if only they knew the extent of his sins. Anselm's sharp gaze made one thing clear: he had a plan. mall-caps;font-weight:bold;text-align:right; border-top:1px solid #AB360D">SoSuWriMo +367 - Hezekiah Finch - 01-04-2010
http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj31 ... /hezt5.png) no-repeat bottom center; border: 1px solid black; font: 12px/16px georgia; text-align: justify; color: #5B2E1E;"> Hezekiah had no real idea of how many coyotes and hybrid made up Inferni, but that very day gave him a considerable idea. There were plenty of faces that he recognised, but many more that he did not, and for that reason alone he felt somewhat out of place amongst the sea of them. For a clan that struck him as being interconnected, he didn’t have that many connections. He wasn’t nearly as social as the bulk of them—or so he imagined that the bulk of them were—but needless to say as Gabriel spoke, they were wholly as one in focus. And what the Aquila had to offer them was something that made a lead pit form in the bottom of his stomach. War was something that Hezekiah had never faced, let alone heard of in detail. His eyes shifted in focus from Gabriel to Kaena when she was mentioned, and for a moment Hezekiah wondered just what had happened. But he didn’t dare inquire what. Even though a hundred questions could have burned at the tip of his tongue about what was going on, he couldn’t voice a single one. In the bare, fleeting silence that followed Gabriel’s voice, another rose up and the sheer volume of it startled him, his body jerking ever so slightly to find who it was that had yelled. He found the hybrid, but directed his attention away, distracted by the other voices that seemed to rise up. Ultimately, for the very moment, it was Anselm’s voice who caught his attention. This creature, this Haku, was certainly sick. What followed that was even crystal clear to the yearling — Haku was their leader and if removed, the problem would go away in more than one way. No leader probably meant discordance, because who else would they look to? He didn’t know enough about Dahlia, let alone Haku to make any more speculation, but it wasn’t too terrible hard to add two and two together to get to four. - Kaena Lykoi - 01-04-2010
Coyotes were not as well-prepared for such things as wolves were—the bandanna-wearing Hastati could feel the wind completely bypass whatever protection his thin fur gave him, chilling him to the bone. The sun made it a little more bearable, but he usually kept close to his den during days like this. He had rekindled the fire he kept in a pit next to his car-den in the landfill and kept close to it. He had free time and, as he usually did while in that situation, he pondered over the defunct pistol he had found in Halifax. It was an older model, even by human standards—a 1911 Custom that had been popular from the year that was its namesake all the way up to the Cold War, and sometimes beyond. The years definitely showed—Snake had been working tirelessly in free hours to get it free of rust. Now it shined, the rust cleaned from each individual piece. He had learned quickly how to break it apart and put it together. Now he intended to try to figure out what was the problem in the mechanism which prevented it from firing. Honestly, he didn’t want to fix it for any other reason that he wanted it to work. Snake was not someone who killed aimlessly—he actually preferred to avoid violence if possible. He just thought it’d be interesting to have a firearm at his side.
- Cassius Arphralos - 01-05-2010
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x242 ... stable.png); background-color:#000000; background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; text-align:justify;"> OOC:
War. War was something not brought up in an everyday conversation. War was something not often preferred, but occasionally handy when available. War was used as not an excuse, but a weapon. A weapon handy enough to bring many to one side or the opposite, or to strike fear in the hearts of the many others. Cassius himself was not an expert when it came to war, he had never seen it firsthand let alone participate in one. It sound very worrying to him. He had just got here and now war? Another thing to upset the balance he thought this place was safe on? Much to his dismay, he would have to participate, although he didn't know a damn thing about fighting. He was most likely the most timid, harmless member here.
With Gabriel's quick speech, the other coyotes shouted and cheered to the prospect of war with the other pack named Dahlia de Mai. He could tell that Inferni had some beef with this other pack in the past, but that was all he knew about it. He didn't delve into any further. After Cotl's outburst, another unknown coyote replied in agreement. Cassius was starting to growing worried about how the other coyotes would view him. He was a sheepish sort of guy who, although at the ripe age of three, didn't have any violent tendencies or experience. When Anselm, another member Cass met rather recently, spoke out, Cassius was well agreeable to his hinted idea but he remained silent.
As the rest of the pack started to come together and have their words, Cass was slowly brewing up a plan in his own brain. What could he do to contribute, that didn't involve up-close-and-personal fighting. He could come up with some kind of... gadget to help defend the borders. Or maybe a crude gun they could have to storm the other territory. as he was brainstorming, he fiddled with a recent invention in his hand, a claw mechanism of sorts, to grab things from afar. Right now, he was just starting to figure out the components to use for effectiveness. Unknowingly, he tripped a small trigger and the claw snapped closed, catching his left hand between his index finger and the thumb in the process. The hybrid let out a sharp inhale, but soon discovered he was onto something.
He fidgeted with his goggles for a brief moment, fixing them on his still unkempt fur before standing straight up. Leaving the claw latched to his hand, he stepped forward timidly, speaking before the other members. "W-well now, y'all don't go an' ferget we gotta protect our borders too. We could go and set some sort of traps and sorts," he protested, holding up his left hand in exhibition. "Kinda like this here, only lots bigger. But we can't just done and go puttin' 'em ever'where's. We done gotta set this out, plannin' and stuff. We can go an' chain the traps to the the ground so them tresspassers can't go nowhere's." Sure it was too early to start planning this specific of stuff, but Cassius was very excitable about his engineering projects. He may just as well have fun with this war too.

In fact, Razekiel had somehow sheltered himself during his first few weeks back in Inferni. There were only a few Inferni creatures he could now recognize, most of which were family. While open to meeting the other strangers who also laid claim to a piece of Inferni, Razekiel had not adopted any sudden desire to get in their faces about it. As far as he was concerned, Inferni was his home in name only; he was not one of them, or so he believed. He was there only to be near his family once more, as well as survive until his feet felt that wandering was once again a necessity. As he dwelt amongst them, somewhat late to the impromptu meeting as compared to the others, Razekiel could see the contrast in full sway. The prince crept in quietly and took his place somewhere in the back; despite his membership growing longer, the poor coyote had yet made any efforts at all to prove himself worthy. In reality, he was hardly making an effort to adapt himself to a ranking system as had been standard his childhood but not since he'd left Inferni the first time. Juniper Peace, aside from their two wolven leaders, had been a clan of equals. In this Inferni, this new Inferni, he could see killers in their eyes. He could see the blood on Gabriel's coat, the stolid, emotionless stare of his brother. The uneasiness in his mother's step as she passed through them. She'd been attacked -- his mother, attacked? Wolves, of all creatures; Mother Earth's single entity that did not deserve mercy. The prince's ears flipped back against his head; his straw eyes narrowed, and he was more silent than silence could be. Wolves didn't know war until Razekiel was mad. <style type="text/css"> .raze-willow b{font-weight:bold; color:#354F27; letter-spacing:1px;} .raze-willow p{text-indent:25px; padding:0px 15px 15px 15px; margin:0px;} </style>
- Marik - 01-05-2010
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x242 ... abdino.png); background-color:#468498; background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; text-align:justify;"> ©table code and image to jacoby; 1065 words Marik had been messing in the forest again, working on his brother’s present. But that would have to wait as a cry rang out over the land. He had no idea who it was. But then again it wasn’t like he knew anyone except Cotl. Though he did have a brief encounter with Maschine and Anselm. The former seemed to accept him while the latter had turned tail and ran from him. Well, perhaps not exactly like that but he had managed to make Anselm uncomfortable upon a first meeting. Not that Marik wasn’t already used to that much. He was away from Germany. Out from under his Vater’s expectations. Now he could act as shamelessly as he wished. He didn’t have to hide his interests anymore. Those here didn’t know him. Didn’t know that he was supposed to be acting like the perfect son. Not that he had exactly done that in Germany either. Only when he was around his parents and sisters. Only his brother knew him as the deviant he was. Only his brother knew that his scarring wasn’t from fighting. Marik wasn’t much of a fighter. He was a lover. A rough lover. While it wasn’t his brother’s thing Cotl hadn’t shunned him for it as the rest of the family would have should they have known. His project was left behind so that he could answer the call. It didn’t come as a surprise to be surrounded by many he didn’t know as he got there. He wouldn’t even be surprised if he was the last to have shown up. He even expected most to wonder where this multi-colored hybrid had suddenly shown up from. It wasn’t that Marik was against social engagements, quite the contrary actually, but the boy had just been busying himself with other things. Like trips to Halifax in order to get some things that his brother wanted and time spent in the forest so that he could make something for his brother. Oh yes, Marik was certainly dedicated to his slightly older sibling. And despite his flirting and teasing and such there really wasn’t anything going on between him and Cotl. It had happened once but his brother had freaked and so it hadn’t come close to ever happening again. Granted intoxicants were involved in that situation. Marik was just a hands on sort of guy and in this place his brother was the only one that he could freely touch so far. This limitation gave others the wrong impression. Plus Marik’s choice of joking words. But of course none of that was new for Cotl seeing as Marik kept up that sort of dialogue when they were alone together too. But his brother knew better than to take it seriously. It was something that the others would have to learn over time as well. Marik arrive at the gathering and immediately went over to be near his brother. He gave a pat to Maschine’s next as he took his place next to his sibling’s side. If others had thought Cotl was short then Marik would at least provide his brother with the appearance of some sort of height since he lacked an inch of what his brother had. Yet being short had never prevented him from finding lovers. It was probably that cuddly aspect that drew them in. Ah ha, but then Marik noticed Anselm was around too. The hybrid just couldn’t help himself and offered the higher ranked male a grin and a wink as he moved to rest his head against his brother’s shoulder. It wasn’t as showy as it had been before but still he couldn’t help but to try to push a few buttons. Marik would be the first to admit that he was a deviant. But unlike the others out there like him he did know what no meant, or nein, and respected that. He would keep hands off but it didn’t stop his mouth. He would still tease and flirt, still hope for interest to be garnered but he wouldn’t actually push the subject. Just ask Cotl. Sure, he flirted with his brother (either because no one else was around or because there were and he was trying to freak them out as he had with Anselm) but Cotl knew better than to take any of it seriously. You could say it was Marik’s own little tick. Something that he did and couldn’t help but to do. He had his own batch of problems, those that differed from Cotl. Cotl’s was obvious whereas Marik’s wasn’t so much. He expressed them outwardly like his brother did but only those around him constantly would learn that it was something he couldn’t turn off. He stood amongst the gathering, cuddled up to his brother for as long as Cotl would allow it to be seen in public. His attention shifted though. He wasn’t concentrating on the words so much as he was studying those that were gathered there. How could he be expected to listen when there were so many yummy bodies packed together in one place. He was a male. He had needs. Needs that hadn’t been met since the boat ride to Canada. For him it was getting to the point that it was starting to cause him physical pain to go without. So of course his mind was elsewhere. And being as shameless as he was he openly checked out his pack mates. What? It wasn’t like no one else in the world suffered from lust. And well, words of war didn’t interest him. Though his brother’s yelling had forced him to focus. He had nothing to say though. He wasn’t a fighter as had been stated earlier. Okay well, he didn’t fight outside of the bedroom at least. After all his Meister had been the one to teach him that detail of fighting. If it was a war in the sheets then Marik would be all over it. As for actual combat… he just lacked the passion that everyone else was showing. Still he would be the good little minion, as he had been under his parents’s watch at home, and do his part. He simply hadn’t a strong interest in it. But that wasn’t to say he wouldn’t do his best. Marik refused to give anything but his best, even in things that didn’t interest him.
- Fritz Kaiser - 01-05-2010 Word Count: 671 A howl rang in the air and it caused Fritz’s ears to perk up in a manner as he got up slowly from the hollow he claimed to be his home. He had found it not too long ago and liked the natural state it was in. Though he would love to have some neighbors, he doubted he could get anyone else to stay in a hollow. Being very tired he picked himself up as he shifted from Lupus to Optime and crawled out from the hollow’s archway? Yawning lazily he had been resting up, but he looked much better than before. His scars were still there and visible to the naked eye, but there not an ounce of dried blood on him. Getting up from his knees he began to walk toward where he had heard the call from. It sounded very important and also a little frightening for the smaller male as he walked quietly upon the cold ground. Winter, he loved the season but he preferred the warmth of spring. Finding himself in the middle of the border, he gazed at the other coyotes and hybrids present. Eyes caught Anselm immediately and he smiled toward the other, certain he wouldn’t be seen but he was happy to give it anyway. That was until he heard their leader’s words and his ears fell against his skull. “War?” He whispered the ugly words to himself, his eyes shifting to the floor in wonder. Listening to their leader more his face fell into a very rare frown as he shook his head. Though he did not know this Haku and at the mention of Kaena, he still felt war wasn’t an answer. But he knew how packs and clans felt about their own being hurt by another pack or clan. It wasn’t going to be taken lightly and he shifted uncomfortable. He didn’t like anyone being hurt, unable to take a life himself. Yes, he wanted to help his pack, but he was also nervous about having to…possibly kill. Shuddering he spotted Kaena not too far away and sighed. He wondered what happened, what this Haku did to anger their leader so. Fritz was very new to the Inferni, and had no knowledge of his new home. “I don’t want people to hurt one another…” Mumbling the words out he listened to the others voices as he sighed. Suddenly he heard a familiar voice and turned, spotting none other than Cotl! An eyebrow rose as he listened to the other so ready for war and he bit his lip. What on earth was he going to do? Maybe he can put his healing abilities to good use. Yes, healing, he could do that as he was not a fighter at all. Well he was protective of the pups, but that was, despite him not being a female, a mother’s instinct. Wrapping his arms around himself he did not know the cause for all this anger. Obviously though it was for a fellow pack member, someone high up. Whoever this Haku was he must’ve hurt Kaena very badly, very, very badly. And indeed should be punished for his crimes. War. The word had always left a bad taste in his mouth even now as he mumbled the word. Keeping quiet though for the most part, he didn’t want to be rude and intervene when he himself was new. It wouldn’t be respectful he supposed and he honestly didn’t want to speak about something he knew of. But all he knew was they were going to war and he felt he should concoct some herbal treatments. And even though he did not know exactly how and when they’d be going to war, he knew he had better get the treatments done afterward. Differently Fritz was going to speak to Anselm about using his greenhouse. He could read those books, knowing to read in German and English. Yes, he was going to try to be useful even if his strength did not lie in brute force. - Vieira Lykoi - 01-05-2010

SSWM: 778
Ever since Kaena made Vieira leave the cave a few days ago, the woman felt out of place when she was actually there. She had come back later that evening and retired to bed when nothing was asked of her and woke up early to do the things she did every day. Cleaning was becoming tedious, as it always had been, because she cleaned and rearranged everything in the same order she did every time. Nothing was ever dirty or out of place and this time she finished earlier than usual. Vieira had set back in her room on the blankets in the meantime, Kaena having long since gone before the woman woke. It caused her to worry since she was not there to receive orders or to see Kaena off to where she was going and she could only imagine what would happen when her owner returned. As Vieira sat in her room, legs crossed in an Indian fashion and her hands idle, she could only worry about what would happen when the Centurion returned to the cave. When Gabriel sounded his horn and called together the clan, it was muffled in the back of the cave where she sat in her room. It sounded urgent and she could tell that much but she did not understand the extent of it all. Vieira had never learned the workings of a clan that was supposed to be instinct but when as much of her natural was self was driven out of her by force, she was left empty and with no knowledge. Inferni was a mystery to her and she had never asked Kaena about the workings but something stirred inside her that made her move. Vieira wanted to stay back in the gave; after all, she did not have permission to leave and for a little bit she waited. Her hands were on the wall of the cave that opened up to the outside world, wishing Kaena to return in this moment to tell her what to do. She thought of Gabriel and when he found her in the cave and how intimidating he was. He attempted to enforce the lack of power her father had her but he did not know the man lived inside her mind now, controlling her every move when Kaena did not. Kaena never appeared and her eyes scanned the surrounding area of the cave, feeling a sense of helplessness in the situation. It was a time to make a decision for herself and it was tearing apart her mind. There would be consequences with whatever she did; she was indirectly disobeying Kaena by not waiting but she feared Gabriel just as much and what he could do to either of them. He had not been pleased about the situation when Vieira had done her best to protect the elderly canine despite what lies she had to make—her face had not been an accident and she knew this. The slave inhaled a long breath and moved from the cave after a long moment and moved toward (or what she could only assume was) the direction the howl came from. It was not far because she could take in smells she had not smelled before that was mixed with those she had. Everyone was gathered up ahead, including Kaena. Her ears fell back against her head as she glanced in that direction, her golden eyes avoiding of contact as she lingered in the background. She wanted to move ahead to stand behind Kaena but she was with Gabriel and she could not find it in herself to move to her proper place. Instead, Vieira settled for the second best option and stood a few safe feet behind everyone and did her best to make herself invisible but knew it was not entirely possible. They would see her, especially those who had before, and she would avoid them if at all possible. Now, however, was not the focus, because she as she made herself comfortable was when Gabriel spoke and her timing could not have been better. Even if his words did not seem relevant to her, she listened as if they were. Her eyes stared at the ground in front of her and her ears were submissively plastered to her skull, and she took in the words. War was a frightening thought and she worried. But most of all, she worried about Kaena and her mind could not focus on the words of Gabriel but the well being of her master after this information of her attack. Vieira knew not a way to make her feel better and could only do what asked. There was nothing that Samael had to say. Fury filled him, encompassing him and radiating from every lifted hair raised across his svelte body, the black and gold coyote fell into step behind Gabriel, otherwise saying and doing nothing. Blood dripped from open wounds, but no thought was given to his own bodily pain—only on failure, and that they hadn’t succeeded in tearing out the bastard’s throat for what he’d done. There was some dull, lingering pain that Kaena hadn’t felt herself able to trust him with the truth, but had found his elder brother worthy, but such thoughts had been pushed aside for blind rage. Now, the fire was seeping from his veins, boiling into his heart where it threatened to explode once again. Clarity crept into his head, but desires for blood and torn flesh were the primary emotions running through the coyote’s head at the moment. Serpentine features lacked any pleasure or amusement—rather, only dark hatred shone from behind the fixed expression pressed onto place like a cold, stone mask. He would not speak, but merely lift his lip and snarl quietly at the mentioning of the bastard’s name from Gabriel’s lips and the crime he’d committed in the vaguest terms possible. He could care less what the rest of Inferni did right now—he only wished to see Haku Soul dead at his own hands, and for the most part he ignored the entirety of the clan as they gathered around their Aquila and listened to what he had to say. Blood-red eyes filled with murder and rage, his expression was otherwise blank and stoic, and his body tense and still as the ground beneath his feet. Only the quiet trickle of blood seeping from his wounds gave any indication of life and the fire burning like hell’s inferno in his narrowed gaze. - Gabriel de le Poer - 01-07-2010
I figure another reply from everyone would get us wrapped up? Each of their faces told him a different story. Halo’s face was a blur, as if she was pulled in two different directions. Gabriel considered this only because she was green when it came to battle and to war—she had killed, certainly, but he did not know if she was prepared for the carnage ahead. Cotl’s voice was the first to rise, a battle cry and a war shriek, followed next by the much more familiar and expected response from Hybrid. Of all the coyotes, Gabriel was glad that Hybrid reveled in carnage and bloodshed. He was a powerful tool, and one that would do whatever Gabriel asked as long as he had blood by nightfall. Perhaps, too, they would be able to take more signs for their borders; Gabriel had seen the fresh head mounted and scented his Hydra and mother all over it. They would have more. Of this, he had no doubt. Anselm’s reaction made Gabriel’s face darken, but only because he was upset his cousin lacked the enthusiasm he had expected. The necessity of casualties was something Gabriel accepted; he was a veteran and a realist, and knew it would take much to get their teeth in the Rosea. If anything, last night had proven Haku was not taking chances. He had summoned help long before Gabriel and Samael had even found the blue-eyed devil. Haku would not risk him life and had proven in the past he was not above using women and children to get what he wanted. Still, Gabriel’s amber eyes focused on his cousin and saw that his mind was spinning. A subtle and short nod was all the go-ahead Anselm needed. The Aquila trusted his cousin to do what he thought was necessary. Their Caelum would not take a risk without letting Gabriel know. Kaena’s presence at his side was something that Gabriel was glad to see. She was not only expected to be there, but it was her right. This war was for her, and for him, and they would see her restored to the woman she had been. This much Gabriel knew in his heart. Even so, their fresh wounds were enough proof that Dahlia de Mai had no intention of backing down without a fight. Haku had known that when he had gone after Kaena—mother and grandmother to more then half the clan. They fought not only for her honor, but for their own. More then that, it was time now to show Haku Soul he had no right to trample over these lands and commit such atrocities without retribution. Both he and his pack now had to suffer. There was no way around it. Their lone Hastati, Snake, reminded Gabriel much of his son. He saw the shadow in his eyes and welcomed it. Though he did not know much of the boy’s past, he knew that Snake was level-headed and had a drive behind him. Before he had much time to consider this further, though, a peculiar looking fellow set off a trap that formed a sharp snap in the air, drawing his attention. Protecting the borders was indeed something that they would need to do, given that during the last war Haku and his mate had thought they could come across Inferni in the dead of night without confrontation. They had killed two coyotes then, but given Gabriel the trump card he needed to end the thing. “They’ve crossed our borders before. Patrols will need to increase. As far as traps go, we’ll need to be organized about it.” A questioning glance darted to Anselm, knowing that he was far more talented in the world of mechanical odds and ends. The rest were quiet, with only varied expressions between them. It surprised Gabriel to see his normally placid peace-loving brother looking as if all Mother Earth’s fury had sunk into his body. Two strangers both seemed perturbed, and remained quiet. What surprised him most, though, was Vieria’s appearance. He had not expected to see her outside of Kaena’s den, and his eyes darted to his mother, puzzled. Still, he supposed it was a good thing. She was proving herself to be more independent, suggesting to Gabriel that maybe his first assessment, and maybe the horrified way Rikka had describe the slavery to him, was blown tremendously out of proportion. While she was obviously uncomfortable being among so many others, he now realized that she would be able to serve him in an unexpected way. “I want everyone to be clear,” his voice rose again, steam billowing from the coy-wolf’s dark muzzle. “Haku Soul does not believe in mercy. If you find yourself engaged in combat, do everything you can to survive. There is no guarantee you will all survive this, so I suggest you be prepared for anything.” Gabriel did not doubt that the madness in Haku had spread, and that he would sink to even deeper levels of depravity. <style> .gabe-believe p {padding:0px 10px 10px 10px; margin:0px; text-indent:30px;} .gabe-believe b {color:#F2AF22;} .gabe-separator {font-family:georgia, serif; font-size:12px; font-weight:bold; border-bottom:1px dotted #F2AF22; text-align:right; margin:0px 0px 2px 0px; color:#9F6809; padding-right:10px;} .gabe-ooc {font-family:arial, sans-serif; font-size:11px; letter-spacing:-.2px; } .gabe-believe {background-color:#A38D5E; padding:10px 0px 300px 0px; border:1px solid #000000; background-image:url(http://sleepyglow.net/souls/gifts/gabe2.jpg); background-position: bottom center; background-repeat:no-repeat; font-family:georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#000000; letter-spacing:.4px; word-spacing:1px; line-height:14px; width:332px; text-align:justify; } </style> - Silas Agata - 01-08-2010
Ruby eyes closed and she fell into blind darkness. Kaena Lykoi’s muzzle found the grandchild’s form and gave her a light brush filled with love and then disappeared. Eyes slowly opened again and she watched her proud Centurion walk up in front of the crowd. Adoration was present in the young woman then; seeing the older woman walk proudly with her injured soul over to her sons. This was Kaena’s family in every way. They would take care of her and protect her. War was coming and it Kaena’s incident seemed to be the main reason for it. Lips parted somewhat and the young woman strived not to be consumed by the odd and sorrowful jealousy that wrestled within. So much suffering there was all over. Justice could never be served all. Ruby eyes quickly flickered over to the black and gold of Samael Lykoi. Would justice ever find him and strike him down for what he had done? He would be a strong ally in the blooming war, though she found herself wishing for the male’s death with such intension that she felt shame. Her ruby orbs danced away with burden weighting them down towards the white and brown ground. She wanted to seek out the Aquila and find strength in his confidence and strength, but she was too weak to lift her gaze to a creature seated so close to the man that had violated her. Pain was something she knew well by now and she would deal with it in silence like she had done in the past.
Then at one point her fiery red eyes found cool ice and a jolt of her heart was accompanied by temporary peace within. She had not noticed the strange Silas arrive and she had barely caught the smile that had possibly been intended for her before he turned away. Her own gaze retreated and she found the hardened ground right in front of her. Her oversized ears were paying absolute attention to the voices rising and falling around her, but her voice would remain hidden for now. It did not matter much what her wishes and feelings were in this conflict, for she would follow her Aquila nevertheless. She had found passion in her rank though she knew not what she would think of this war. The horrible truth of death had ripped her apart once before and she found herself almost dreading this. It was fear and she loathed it. She knew what she would do tonight though. She had planned this a few nights ago and this meeting was just a mere coincidence. She would venture deep into Dahlian territory and pierce the beast’s heart with silver bullets. Just like Samael Lykoi, her half brother deserved death, though the difference was that Haku was free game while Samael was not. A small smile suddenly bloomed on the young hybrid’s face. There would be blood and she was certain she would taste it again and find out if she was worthy after all. - Cotl - 01-10-2010
The faces were becoming abundant. Cotl could feel the aura of each and every being. Some were upset, others angry, some completely neutral. The small male let his eyes scan the crowd around him. He was looking around, and then he suddenly spotted his brother coming up from the back of the crowd. The little midget snuck his way up and pet Maschine (whom let out a nicker in response to the other male's greeting) and then he put his head and Cotl's shoulder, snuggling close. You'd think that the two were lovers, except for the fact that Cotl seemed to pay no attention to the boy, or atleast any romantic attention. Cotl let the male set his head on his shoulder, like it didn't phase him. The male simply listened the rest of the way, letting the alpha make his speech. It didn't seem that alot of Inferni was as enthusiastic about the war as Cotl was. He had caught something in particular that Cassius had mentioned. Cass, My brother and I have extended -FUCKING COCK HUMPERS- knowledge in traps, we will be working on the borders. We do however need a way for the rest of Inferni to know where exactly these traps will be at. At the moment, Ich kann nicht think of anything in specific to do, but once we figure this out, we will inform Gabriel and the rest of Inferni. the male spoke out to Cassius whom was between himself and a few others, though the rest of the pack would probably be able to hear him talking.
Cotl then felt like he needed to get up higher, to be able to see a little bit better, and so he was quick to move from his brother and leap back onto his horse's back. He then just sat on the horse, waiting for things to dismiss really he guessed.

- Hybrid Holocaust - 01-12-2010 567.
There were more. Hybrid could not help but revel in the strength of Inferni as he glanced around him, evaluating the newcomers. He saw new faces and new scents, new faces and old scents, and old faces and old scents. Some of those that appeared did not surprise Hybrid — Anselm and Kaena had arrived, along with Razekiel. One unknown face suggested setting traps, something Hybrid had little experience with. It made sense to Hybrid, though, he knew he would be unable to take part in any of it. He knew nothing about the way those mechanical creatures worked, as his method of attack was simple and straightforward. Never had he relied on some sort of extra weapon or hand to kill someone.
- Anselm de le Poer - 01-12-2010
http://i950.photobucket.com/albums/ad34 ... s/truc.png); background-repeat:no-repeat; padding-top:187px; background-position:top center; background-color:#F8BB4D; text-align:justify; font-family:georgia; font-size:11px; color:#AB360D; line-height:15px;padding-bottom:10px;">666 AHHH DEVIL POST. WE'RE GONNA GETCHYU DAHLIA D:<
@&$Oh, he knew it would not be so simple. If it were, Gabriel would be calling them together now to rejoice, to celebrate he and Samael's success in vanquishing an enemy of the clan once and for all. As it stood, their mission had failed and additional casualties were inevitable. Haku had made his point clear. @&$As always, there was a difference between starting a fight and finishing one. Make no mistake--if he caught anyone malicious trying to infiltrate their border he would stop them. He had no reason to promise this to anyone; as Inferni's scout it was simply assumed. Anselm merely saw little sense in storming Dahlia's gate--it was too easy for Haku to twist it in his favour, too easy to make the coyotes look like the bad guys. @&$The plan formulating in his head would require one thing above all else: patience. He would have to wait. He wouldn't stand a chance if he went after the devil in his own domain--he'd come out no better than the Aquila and his brother, if not worse. He had no idea what might happen all the while, but he would have to wait until Haku grew too bold. The madman had rushed them before and he would again. @&$Anselm would be ready. In the meanwhile, he would find other ways to contribute. The greenhouse project jumped to the forefront of his mind. If they were in this for the long haul, they would need medical supplies. Cassius and Fritz could help him. Perhaps he could plan out a viable escape route if the shit really hit the fan. @&$Though many were silent, a few made their voices heard and he listened intently. Anselm knew nothing on the details of traps (or even what they looked like), but it was easy to assume one thing: "I'm not sure a trap would hold them by the limb, but if it could mangle 'em in the process of getting out it's just as well," he addressed Cassius. The Dahlians too were shifters--they'd use their thumbs to disengage a trap just as easily as the coyotes. "The best warning system would be something subtle; preferably something not in direct contact with the trap itself," he added after Cotl. "A scent would be too obvious." @&$Already he had an idea. "My suggestion is a series of rocks arranged in skewed triangles. A trap would be at the centre of each triangle; each point could lie within one to three metres of the trap itself. If the rocks are different colours, they will appear random and blend in with the scenery." Here he rose to his feet. He picked up a small twig with his teeth and stepped up before them. @&$"Suppose this is the trap," he explained, before trotting about and placing a seemingly random selection of rocks in formation. "One slab of red shale, one piece of white quartz, and one chunk of mottled granite," he explained, pausing after he said each name and holding up the individual rocks in his mouth so they all could see. Each was immediately on hand and would hardly appear out of place in their territory. @&$"Everyone would need to keep alert, but it's doubtful that any outsiders would pick up on the pattern. The more varied between each trap the better," he said, illustrating his point by moving one rock further than it was before and the other two closer together. The triangle had changed shape considerably, yet a triangle it remained. "We could even set up some dummy triangles with nothing in the middle." He rearranged them again, this time at their maximal distance from the prop twig. "Either way, at most they'd be yay far apart," he concluded. If one only knew what to look for it would be easy to spot. Here he looked to Gabriel and Kaena alone for approval, though his eyes were already alight--there was a reason they kept him around. mall-caps;font-weight:bold;text-align:right; border-top:1px solid #AB360D">SoSuWriMo +666 |
