- Hezekiah Finch - 01-14-2010
http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj31 ... /hezt5.png) no-repeat bottom center; border: 1px solid black; font: 12px/16px georgia; text-align: justify; color: #5B2E1E;"> And then there was the ultimatum, then thing that lurked at the back of his mind brought to the forefront. Some of them may not survive. It was after all, a war, so it was likely, but it was still something that made the pit in Hezekiah’s stomach sink even more, leaving him with an uneasy sensation of being uncertain what it was that he would do. Or really, what it was that he could do; even thought he often kept track of the borders, he didn’t know very much about defending himself, let alone Inferni from some invasion. And even if he turned tail to alert those who could, he questioned the idea of how efficient would be. And that was where the talk of traps was almost perfect, and Hezekiah moved in a little closer to Anselm to watch as the older man gave a demonstration on how they would denote such traps. It made sense to Hezekiah and was easy enough to remember — he particularly liked the idea of making dummy markers just to screw with anyone who would come around. Early warning was definitely a good thing and if they could slow down anyone who came around, even better. Though he may not have had a lot of use at the moment, Hezekiah was more than willing to do whatever it was that he had to do. To him, this wasn’t really all about surviving or avenging. - Kaena Lykoi - 01-15-2010
782. There was very little Kaena had to add herself for these thoughts of war. They almost made her dizzy; for once in her life the prospect of fighting did not excite her. It did not light her blood on fire as it always had, instead, there was a chilling sort of sensation rushing throughout her. This was fear, and though it had been foreign to her in youth she understood it far better now; it was becoming a familiar thing to the silver-furred Centurion. The coyote woman's head dipped slightly and the thoughts of what exactly had brought this war about filled her head, as much as she tried to shove those thoughts away. The other canine seemed to have mixed feelings about war. Some of their reactions were to be expected; it was quite like Hybrid to demand blood, and for all the reasons Kaena valued that in him, now it seemed more important than ever. One needed a twisted-up monster to destroy another twisted-up monster; it was for this reason that Gabriel had called on Samael when the silver-furred Centurion had told him of what had gone on between herself and Haku. The fresh cuts and smell of slightly stale blood coated both of them, but still Haku walked the earth—they had not been able to succeed. Who would have expected for it to be so easy? The best it seemed that the hybrid could hope for was that her sons had inflicted the maximum damage against Dahlia de Mai and its leader. Some of the coyotes were less enthusiastic on the prospect of war, but others proposed plans—the hybrid half-heartedly listened to them, unable to focus on what was happening around her. This was entirely her fault; her family might very well die because of her. The silvery hybrid could not shake this thought; it clung to her desperately as though it had been glued to her very mind, imprinted over her brain and stomped into her head. The coyote woman had not been present for the last war with Dahlia, but she did not need that experience to know personally that Gabriel spoke the truth—wolves were always less-than-respectful of coyote borders, and in the midst of war, they would be even less so. The faint scent of Dahlia de Mai clung to their fur; trespassing on wolf lands was a surefire way to earn retribution for their closest neighbor. The idea that she could very well die, that Halo might die, her whole family might be ripped to shreds—still stuck on the silver-furred hybrid's mind. A small, pale gold presence in the rear of the gaggle of canines caught her eye; she had not expected Vieira but there was not an ounce of anger within the canine. The Aquila had called, and regardless of Vieira's personal dedication to Kae, she was as required to be here as any other member. The hybrid wanted to catch her eye and draw her closer; the tawny woman seemed entirely uncomfortable in the mess of unfamiliar and familiar canines both. Kaena did not, however, feeling such an action might be inappropriate or looked down upon in some manner, so her attention drifted, drawn to Cotl as the other canine spoke. Though he was certainly a weird one—to put it mildly—he was certainly proving to be a useful member of the clan; he had brought his brother here in some manner, and their friend Fritz had followed, even if the third seemed quite troubled with the prospect of so much fighting. The talk of traps seemed too technical for the hybrid's mind; she decided then and there she would not be involved in this unless personally requested by Anselm, Cassius, Marik, or Cotl. Those four would make quite a team—with Anselm's personal knowledge of the territory both inside and out of Inferni, Cotl's twisted nature (here the coyote woman thought of implementing acid or scorpions to the traps), Cassius's apparent mechanical knowledge, and Marik's technical knowledge and proficiency for working with his hands... she was not needed there. Her camp more than likely was with Hybrid and Samael—for Kaena, this war was very, very personal, and she would not hesitate a split second to spill blood and destroy other lives. She didn't even require provocation to do so. Though she remained quite silent, a small, wicked-looking smile formed on the hybrid's face, the devilish look in her eye revealing to the others what she dreamed of—blood, bodies, the wrecked and ravaged corpse of Haku Soul left to rot to dust, strung up from their trees. Dahlia de Mai would pay for their leader's crimes. - Snake - 01-16-2010
373. Snake understood everything that Gabriel said and could say about war. He understood it all—perhaps more than any average yearling should. It just so happened, however, that he was no average yearling. He stared off to the side now, almost as if not paying any attention to the others who were around him at this important council of war. His arms were tightly crossed across his chest, giving him an uncharacteristic look of tension. He couldn’t have escaped it for long, war. It followed him like a shadow, or at least Patriot had promised him it would. Snake was not used to internal conflict—usually his mind was at harmony, though it was a very sluggish and silent kind of peace. Now things were shifting beneath that curtain of stillness, and it perturbed him. He shouldn’t be surprised—one could see conflict with Dahlia from miles away if they really thought about it—but it was still unsettling. And perhaps it was the fact that he felt off that made him even more upset. He could hear the rumblings, though they seemed distant in his ears. Traps, plans, modifications. He had learned these ages ago—everything that had been deemed necessary anyway. Snake was usually a modest creature, but he was indefinitely arrogant when it came to fighting and warfare. He thought he knew everything… and while that might not be true, he did know a lot. A lot more than one would expect him to. He remained there, motionless, looking off into the distance, arms crossed, for several more minutes. Then he realized that nothing else would happen but planning. Group planning. The kind of thing that he wouldn’t be useful in. So, as silently as he had come, Snake slipped away. He had been on the periphery of the group, so he doubted he would be greatly missed. He was intent on going and scoping out the territory for himself, viewing it from a keener, more tactical mind. He would need to begin training again—a little more rigorous this time. He would need to help make impediments for whatever marauders they might encounter. He had a lot to do. And for the time being he would do it alone. - Cassius Arphralos - 01-16-2010
OOC:

Cassius watched as the other members of the pack drew together, waiting for a response from anyone else on the matter of traps and defending the borders. Gabriel soon spoke, making a valid point on the organization of the traps. Cassius nodded, acknowledging the fact. After he spoke, Silas, the Russian he'd met no too long before the meeting, entered but said nothing. He looked around, looking for those who had something to say. Only a brown male, who was quite big, said a qiuck comment and nothing more.

He preferred it, staying in the back; the coyote was internally fighting with himself, livid that his mother had been harmed by wolves while disgusted that he was feeling such emotions. War? Hate? This was exactly what Juniper Peace had been fighting against! Mother Earth didn't care for those who hated and killed carelessly; Razekiel made a mental note to himself not to fall into that same stereotype, all the while calming himself back into a more peaceful, though disturbed, state of mind. Razekiel was surprised to see Silas, the Russian he'd met some time before the first time he'd wandered away from Inferni. Silas had seemed so peaceful, so easygoing; surely he couldn't have made his place here? Had he followed the coyote's directions when he'd pointed off into a random direction believing Inferni was that way? The hippie stared long and hard at his friend, clearly puzzled and frustrated in turn, before slowly turning his straw-colored eyes back to the group, jumping from his thoughts only when the Tourette's-inflicted stranger screamed obscenities mid-sentence. He didn't want to hear any of this, war plans and bloodthirsty plottings. Even Anselm had plenty to say on the matter, taking some sort of lead strategist role as he thought aloud traps and the like. Surely none of them expected Razekiel to take part in any of this hate and war. Kaena? Gabriel? They both looked equally focused and affixed on Anselm's dark mutterings. Razekiel simply sighed, hung his head and stared at the ground. "Love and peace," he mumbled to himself. <style type="text/css"> .raze-willow b{font-weight:bold; color:#354F27; letter-spacing:1px;} .raze-willow p{text-indent:25px; padding:0px 15px 15px 15px; margin:0px;} </style>
- Marik - 01-22-2010
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x242 ... abdino.png); background-color:#468498; background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; text-align:justify;"> ©table code and image to jacoby; 577 words
Truth was, Marik was surprised to find that he actually hadn’t been the last to show up. Others still came after him. Not many but still enough to show that he hadn’t been the last after all. But then again there were very few faces there that would recognize him. Just his brother, Maschine, Anselm, and Fritz. The last one he knew from Germany. Well, Fritz and his brother. Those were the only two that he knew from before. The rest he would just have to meet in Inferni. And while he wasn’t getting names right now he did have the chance to view everyone. To see who all was in this clan. There were a number of members. More than he had first imagined. But still how many did the pack they were warring against have? Were they to be outnumbered? Marik wasn’t certain. But the least they could do was to make sure that they were prepared. The best offense was a great defense. They could do that. He was certain of it.

Several of the coyotes spoke up but the woman paid no attention to them. Her ears were erect on her head searching for a specific voice but that of her owner did not come into play and she waited until the group was dismissed and even then she would wait for Kaena. Her feet danced on the ground a bit before she stepped back, her eyes glancing up over the crowd before she patiently waited for the next bit of information, if any at all. - Samael Lykoi - 02-06-2010
- Gabriel de le Poer - 02-09-2010
In Character
Doubt did not exist in Gabriel’s world. He knew that this was going to be a terrible war, and that it was going to cost them. His purpose was to see Haku Soul erased from the earth, and if he had to take the whole of Dahlia de Mai with him, so be it. Traps and weapons were outside of his realm of knowledge, and for each mention of them he focused his attention on his cousin. Anselm would be the one to go to on those matters. So, as Cassius spoke, the Aquila listened—but he did not comprehend fully, and redirected his attention on his cousin. “Anselm would be the person to talk to,” he said, looking to the golden wolf for confirmation. “Do what needs done,” he reaffirmed, looking over the group. “And don’t forget that we’re fighting a madman.” Those who had not seen Haku before would now experience the full extent of what was coming. “You have your orders,” Gabriel concluded, dismissing the group with jerk of the head. He remained seated, watching them leave, and knowing that what lay before them was far more dire then even he imagined. <style> .gabe-believe p {padding:0px 10px 10px 10px; margin:0px; text-indent:30px;} .gabe-believe b {color:#F2AF22;} .gabe-separator {font-family:georgia, serif; font-size:12px; font-weight:bold; border-bottom:1px dotted #F2AF22; text-align:right; margin:0px 0px 2px 0px; color:#9F6809; padding-right:10px;} .gabe-ooc {font-family:arial, sans-serif; font-size:11px; letter-spacing:-.2px; } .gabe-believe {background-color:#A38D5E; padding:10px 0px 300px 0px; border:1px solid #000000; background-image:url(http://sleepyglow.net/souls/gifts/gabe2.jpg); background-position: bottom center; background-repeat:no-repeat; font-family:georgia, serif; font-size:12px; color:#000000; letter-spacing:.4px; word-spacing:1px; line-height:14px; width:332px; text-align:justify; } </style> |
