The trees would be bare early this Fall, the winds doing much of the work normally given to gratitude. He was not pleased by the incoming weather; it had lasted a few nights and did not look as if it was about to let up. With concern written on his brow he went to check on his mother and her companion Tayui. After finding the silver woman well, she spoke a concern. His dear mother was scared for Engelmann, the small pony, and he had promised that he would go and check up on him.
Before he could do fullfill his mother's wishes more formal instruction came from their Virding, to secure the horses and the stables. So Oak set out with the rest of the able bodied males.
With his trusted axe strapped to his waist, Oak hurried forward towards the stables. The pony… Oak was sure that he was fine. The beast was slow to be moved by anything. Though, as he thought it over, if the winds grew any worse there would be damage done to the human constructed buildings. He shook off his reluctance and moved swiftly with the group towards the horses’ home and managed to get there without tripping over new fallen branches.
Doors and shutters rattled in the wind, open when Oak assumed they should be shut. Noises could be heard inside, cries of disturbed horses. Oak looked in, and caught the eyes of frightened faces. It would take more then just closed doors to keep them safe. He looked to the others, We’ll need boards and nails. After he spoke Oak retreated to the near by barn, searching for supplies and thankfully finding them. He carried as many pieces of spare wood as he managed over to the stables, and then returned for more. This time with rusty nails and a hammer.

Ink was gone and it was such an unexpected, hurtful thing to do that Temeraire believed he was in shock. He'd never been in shock before and didn't know what it felt like, but he was certainly shocked about his friends departure. He knew, however, that there was little he could have done. When he'd met the boy, he'd been looking for information for his father and he supposed that it was too much like settling down, moving to a pack and setting up roots here. Sura had gone with him it seemed, a loss that Temeraire didn't feel half as bad about as Ink's. Upset as he was, the boy tried not to let it get him down. He never knew, he might be able to find him, or he may see him again some day. Trying to be optimistic, however, had been abandoned in the horrible weather. It had been brewing for days, this storm, and Temeraire had tried his best to remain active in the onslaught of rain. #artTXT { font-family:'trebuchet ms', tahoma, geneva, sans-serif; font-size:13px; width:95%; margin:0px auto; line-height:18px; } #artTXT p { text-indent:50px; padding:0; margin:10px 0; } #artTXT p.sieImage { text-align:center; text-indent:0; font-size:11px; font-style:italic; float:left; margin:5px; } #artTXT .txtooc { text-align:left; font-size:12px; font-family:georgia, serif text-transform:none; line-height:16px; font-weight:normal; } #artTXT .txtooc .word { font-weight:bold; font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-style:normal;} #artTXT b { letter-spacing:-.5px; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: 12px; } #artTXT u { text-decoration: underline; } #artTXT b:before { content: open-quote; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: 15px; } #artTXT b:after { content: close-quote; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: 15px; } #artTXT b.npc { letter-spacing:.5px; font-style:italic; font-weight:normal; } </style>
WC:: 227 - Ugh, crappy post. Sorry y'all Now that Grace and their collection of animals were safely tucked away in the warmth of Saul and Lilin's home he felt happy to go and help out where he was needed. His footpaws slipped in the sludgy mud as he jogged towards the stables, the rain pelting his face. Ciaran yowled quietly to his partner, his distaste for the heavy rain obvious, yet he still wanted to stay with Niernan, not trusting the wolf to be out of his sight. The stable hove into sight and he slowed his pace, recognising the strong caramel and chocolate form of his brother, already working away, the black and white Temeraire and the russet of Oak. He smiled as he moved over to the group, "Ah, apologies for my lateness, Grace problems." He said with a chuckle, shooting a wink his brothers way. Bran sniggered too, knowing well how awkward Nier's mate could be. .neicait04 .ooc {font-style:italic; font-family: verdana; font-size:9px; border-bottom:2px dotted #000000; } .neicait04 p {padding:2px 0px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .neicait04 b {color:#3f4f44; letter-spacing:-.2px; text-shadow:#090504 0px 1px 0px; } .neicait04 {background-color:#000000; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/exY3g.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:4px solid #596c5f; margin:0 auto; border-radius:20px; font-family: verdana; font-size:10px; color:#000000; letter-spacing:.4px; word-spacing:.3px; line-height:16px; width:520px; text-align:justify;margin:0 auto; box-shadow:2px 2px 3px #1d1d1d; -moz-box-shadow:2px 2px 3px #1d1d1d; -webkit-box-shadow:2px 2px 3px #1d1d1d;} .neicait04 .inner {margin:29px 115px 15px 15px; padding:12px; background-image:url(imageurl); -webkit-border-top-left-radius: 20px; -webkit-border-bottom-left-radius: 20px; -moz-border-radius-topleft: 20px; -moz-border-radius-bottomleft: 20px; border-top-left-radius: 20px; border-bottom-left-radius: 20px;; border:0px solid #000000; height:335px; overflow:auto;} </style>

The upset caused by Ink's leaving would have to be pushed from his mind for now. There was work to be done and it certainly needed to be completed swiftly. The wind tugging at his body, wrenching his hair around his face, pushing him back from the stout building were beginning to strengthen, if only slightly. He could feel it, the sting to his eyes when he looked up to hold a board steady for Oak to hammer into place. Niernan and Bran, having arrived not long ago, worked well as a pair together and in otherwise silence aside from the occasional command or check between the quartet they managed to get things into a calmer state of affairs. The windows were boarded shut by the time they stepped back and Oak asked perhaps a fatal question. #artTXT { font-family:'trebuchet ms', tahoma, geneva, sans-serif; font-size:13px; width:95%; margin:0px auto; line-height:18px; } #artTXT p { text-indent:50px; padding:0; margin:10px 0; } #artTXT p.sieImage { text-align:center; text-indent:0; font-size:11px; font-style:italic; float:left; margin:5px; } #artTXT .txtooc { text-align:left; font-size:12px; font-family:georgia, serif text-transform:none; line-height:16px; font-weight:normal; } #artTXT .txtooc .word { font-weight:bold; font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-style:normal;} #artTXT b { letter-spacing:-.5px; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: 12px; } #artTXT u { text-decoration: underline; } #artTXT b:before { content: open-quote; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: 15px; } #artTXT b:after { content: close-quote; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: 15px; } #artTXT b.npc { letter-spacing:.5px; font-style:italic; font-weight:normal; } </style>
WC:: 359 - Blergh Niers mane was apparently growing out, he had found this out as the wind took it and whipped it around furiously. His eyes stung from the wailing wind, the thrashing rain and the hair that kept flicking into them. He pushed his hair back with his fingers again, the wetness slicking the black hair between his ears so that it stuck tightly to his head. Bran had looked at him as he had taken his hand away from its job hammering in the nail to hold the plank in place. Nier shot him a crooked grin and returned to thunking the nail with his wooden mallet. As the nail found its home they relaxed, realising that they had finished their side of the stable. They moved around to the front and the big wide doors just in time to hear Oak ask if all the horses were present and correct. He stuck his head around the door, just like Teme, his cerulean eyes flicking around the warm interior. He found Darcy, Helexia, and Hermes easily, he knew that Amaury and Luuk, the rather absent new members kept their horses in their yard so didn't expect to see the equine brothers here. He noticed the brown stallion in a stall that had appeared along with Fritz and Selene, the absence of Jericho and the donkey made obvious. He turned to announce their disappearance but Teme had beat him to it. .neicait04 .ooc {font-style:italic; font-family: verdana; font-size:9px; border-bottom:2px dotted #000000; } .neicait04 p {padding:2px 0px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .neicait04 b {color:#3f4f44; letter-spacing:-.2px; text-shadow:#090504 0px 1px 0px; } .neicait04 {background-color:#000000; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/exY3g.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:4px solid #596c5f; margin:0 auto; border-radius:20px; font-family: verdana; font-size:10px; color:#000000; letter-spacing:.4px; word-spacing:.3px; line-height:16px; width:520px; text-align:justify;margin:0 auto; box-shadow:2px 2px 3px #1d1d1d; -moz-box-shadow:2px 2px 3px #1d1d1d; -webkit-box-shadow:2px 2px 3px #1d1d1d;} .neicait04 .inner {margin:29px 115px 15px 15px; padding:12px; background-image:url(imageurl); -webkit-border-top-left-radius: 20px; -webkit-border-bottom-left-radius: 20px; -moz-border-radius-topleft: 20px; -moz-border-radius-bottomleft: 20px; border-top-left-radius: 20px; border-bottom-left-radius: 20px;; border:0px solid #000000; height:335px; overflow:auto;} </style>

Despite the rain and the wind, he heard Niernan's approach and was grateful for his Uncle's help. He hadn't interacted much with the donkey, but knew he was stubborn. Moving closer, Temeraire could see the dark creature was scared. It was braced- rump pressed against the trunk of a tree and front legs pushed out at an odd angle from his body. As he approached, Aniki looked up, startled but apparently relieved that he hadn't been completely abandoned. The boy stopped and waited for Niernan to catch up, white-rimmed ears flickering forward and then back as he caught Niernan's words. It made sense and Temeraire hoped his Uncle knew the donkey well enough to give an accurate guess as to what he'd do. #artTXT { font-family:'trebuchet ms', tahoma, geneva, sans-serif; font-size:13px; width:95%; margin:0px auto; line-height:18px; } #artTXT p { text-indent:50px; padding:0; margin:10px 0; } #artTXT p.sieImage { text-align:center; text-indent:0; font-size:11px; font-style:italic; float:left; margin:5px; } #artTXT .txtooc { text-align:left; font-size:12px; font-family:georgia, serif text-transform:none; line-height:16px; font-weight:normal; } #artTXT .txtooc .word { font-weight:bold; font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-style:normal;} #artTXT b { letter-spacing:-.5px; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: 12px; } #artTXT u { text-decoration: underline; } #artTXT b:before { content: open-quote; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: 15px; } #artTXT b:after { content: close-quote; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: 15px; } #artTXT b.npc { letter-spacing:.5px; font-style:italic; font-weight:normal; } </style>
WC::449. 3 pts - Yay, Aniki follows like a good boy His cerulean eyes were quick to notice Aniki's fearful stance, his long ears pinned back, rump pressed against a tree and legs propping him up as best they could. He nodded as Teme voiced his agreement to Nier's little plan. The boy's tongue produced a clicking noise and he watched, happily, as the donkey's ears shot up, his large brown eyes turning to look at the two wolves. Nier saw a spark of recognition forming in the animals eyes as he saw the black and tan Stormbringer, remembering him from a night quite like this one. Nier smiled comfortingly at the donkey, happy that he was moving towards them, his rump unglued from the tree he had found. Aniki's brays cut through the wind and rain easily, announcing the jack as he moved. Nier walked backwards, occasionally turning sideways to keep an eye on the trail back to the stable. .neicait04 .ooc {font-style:italic; font-family: verdana; font-size:9px; border-bottom:2px dotted #000000; } .neicait04 p {padding:2px 0px; margin:0px; text-indent:35px;} .neicait04 b {color:#3f4f44; letter-spacing:-.2px; text-shadow:#090504 0px 1px 0px; } .neicait04 {background-color:#000000; background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/exY3g.png); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:4px solid #596c5f; margin:0 auto; border-radius:20px; font-family: verdana; font-size:10px; color:#000000; letter-spacing:.4px; word-spacing:.3px; line-height:16px; width:520px; text-align:justify;margin:0 auto; box-shadow:2px 2px 3px #1d1d1d; -moz-box-shadow:2px 2px 3px #1d1d1d; -webkit-box-shadow:2px 2px 3px #1d1d1d;} .neicait04 .inner {margin:29px 115px 15px 15px; padding:12px; background-image:url(imageurl); -webkit-border-top-left-radius: 20px; -webkit-border-bottom-left-radius: 20px; -moz-border-radius-topleft: 20px; -moz-border-radius-bottomleft: 20px; border-top-left-radius: 20px; border-bottom-left-radius: 20px;; border:0px solid #000000; height:335px; overflow:auto;} </style> |
