Although everything he had done he could not remember and knew it had been done out of madness, the Patriarch still regretted such events happening, and abstractly found ways to tie himself to blame. Perhaps he should never have left Clouded Tears, he considered. He might not have lost his memory, his family, his home--everything. Perhaps he wouldn't have ended up the monster he was now.
