A Whale of a Tale
#15
[html]

It was explained to him that it was an animal, and he took a second look at it. He had never seen something like this before and almost didn't believe Bris, thinking that she was joking with him...but then he saw it move. It looked somewhat weak there on land, so used to being in the water, and Gideon listened to the adults as they spoke of solutions on how to save it. "We gonna save its life, aren't we auntie? It looks not-happy..It looks like it is suffering" He said solemnly.

Thoughts of his mother came to him then, of what she had looked like when she had been toward the end of her life. He was slowly beginning to understand that Abi had died, that the red stuff coming out of her had been a bad thing. That she had been in pain. This whale had many scrapes on it..but not enough to make it die from losing its red stuff. But it still looked very sad and weak.

He followed the orders that his aunt gave to him, turning to Nayru. "She said for us to back up, Nay, so we don't get hitted by the whale or get 'tepped on. Do you wanna look for a few seashells wiff me over here? We could dig, too, and watch 'em wiff da water!"
