Though there was usually no reason for Gabriel to go to the Mansion, since his daughter’s return he had wanted to ensure things were settling for her. Something had seemed...well, off. He had likened it to the doubt of his fathering instincts, but the tick would not leave him and so he had come to see if she had returned to the house that she and her brother had spent so much time in. It was a nice day; the air was not unbearibly hot and a cool breeze carried itself from the bay to the west. Gabriel was pleased with the weather, and it made his mood considerably cheerier then it had been in days.

On two legs, Gabriel moved into the building and began sniffing the air. He did not have to wait long before the scent of blood flooded into his nose and a muffled ruckus announced itself. It took only a few seconds for the Aquila to clear the steps, and when he reached the top, the situation was apparent. Without a second thought the coy-wolf grabbed his neice by the arm and yanked her off the dark woman abruptly. Enough,” he ordered, voice a crack of thunder against the sudden stillness of the hallway.
