Short, short. Sorry!

Nayru nodded and dutifully followed the older woman into the barn. Her eyes swept the stalls and landed on the one that the cow inhabited. He was the same sort of creature as a horse or deer, but certainly this was a species left over from the humans reign. Many of the human’s domestic animals had died out, she knew, and though some had survived they didn’t roam the lands like the deer and elk that Nayru was accustomed to. This one was large and shaggy, she wondered if his ancestors had looked like him, or if they had adapted to life without care. Now that the optime were beginning to dabble in animal husbandry perhaps they would change again. It was a strange idea and Nayru didn’t dwell too deeply on it. Reaching out she touched the cow’s nose, before a harsh snort from the brute caused her to withdraw it.

"Perhaps we should let these two get to sleep. Is there anywhere else in Aniwaya you’d like to show me?" Nayru’s voice was easy and amused at the animal’s temper, but neither did she wish to aggravate him. Moving on would be best, and if they were too see much else they should before night settled fully. A good night’s sleep would be required to make the trek back to Dahlia de Mai, and the black and white girl wished to return early, in case anyone in the house wondered why the fairy child had been absent all day and night.
