Darn bears stealin picnic baskets

So far he had been taking more liberties to get out and patrol Dahlia as of late. Even going as far to roam around taking the freakishly massive Halfling form. If his lupus form was a picture of grace, and his optime form the vision of the perfect warrior, his Halfling form was a perfect balance of the two. Long legs would carry the brute as his body would fill out into a mass of muscle, claws and teeth. That grey pelt of his was still long and fluffy as it was with his lupus form but it no longer hid the monster underneath. Even so, on the days when paranoia would begin to plague him he’d leave his shop, and go on patrols. Layla had protested and hadn’t liked it once before. So he had gotten himself in the habit of leaving a note in the shop if she came looking for him.

Today though as the brute circled back towards home, he still couldn’t help but fight anger at the state his mate was left in. To see that beautiful form scarred by some beast irritated and caused him to seethe with almost blind fire hatred. Since they had become mates, they hadn’t had another alone time night like the night she moved in. So many things had been happening lately that he missed just spending time alone with her. Stopping for a moment to stretch his form he thought for a moment. Maybe tonight they could eat and spend some time together, and if that was the case, he better hurry up to get home to her. And with that the true speed and strength of this afforded form came into being as he sprinted toward home, body a flash of fur and teeth as it sped along the ground. For once his leg wasn’t holding him back, it had finally healed, the feeling was almost breath taking, each push gaining more speed and ground. He kept up the pace until their home came into view and he slowed to a quick trot. Nose forced open the door with a pleasant look on his face as eyes and ears searched for his mate. Saluce ran upstairs, back down, and even poked his head in her herb room but none of his efforts found his beautiful mistress within them. Still in half ling form and almost overcome with sadness that she had left for some errand or on some trip he almost trotted back upstairs to head to bed but his nose caught a fresh track from her, a scent just a few moments old and in a flash out the door he went again after her.

The behemoth caught up with her just as she was reaching his shop. With a practiced leap his form swiftly landed in front of her tail wagging like a madman as he looked up upon his mate with adoration. While in a more animal like form he behaved more in that fashion, not offering up much in the way of words but soon they left his muzzle. “I had went out on patrol, and returned home, I almost thought you had left on some errand or trip”, the behemoth spoke almost to affectionately for such an imposing creature before her, but she was the only one he would ever allow himself to be this way around. It was his special little gift to her. Those eyes scanned across her lovely form and the way she had dressed, head cocked to the side as if he was saying duh, she was looking for him. She had had sometime planned, the fire wood, satchel, even the faint hint of rabbit meat. With a laugh the brute raised himself on two legs to place his paws on her shoulder, tongue rolling out to greet her, careful to not to kiss her on her still healing maw. As this act transpired, the familiar fire coursed through his body, soon the weight he had placed on her shoulders left them even as his now hands gently grasped her for a bit of support as the last of the changes took hold.

When the change was complete he stood tall on two legs,tail still fluttering about behind him, a being possessed with a mind of its own. “I’m guessing you have something planned? Need me to carry anything my dear?” he asked politely.
