Payback's a bitch eh? WC: 828 {7 points}

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

So far the current evening was just one disappointment so far. Here she was trying to make this night special for the new couple, yet things were going wrong. First she didn't wait for him and now she was so scared she was practically clinging to him. The mistress couldn't imagine how Saluce was taking to her. He was sure he could feel her fear. As much as she didn't want to be afraid, the attack left her in such a horrible state that she couldn't help herself. The fresh scent of the rabbit filled her nose as they continued on. Maybe it was best that she had waited in cutting the meat, at least then if she brought the knife they would have a weapon they could use. It was just one mistake after another. Her depressed state was broken when she felt her love's gentle kiss. It was good to know that the behemoth would not think differently of her because of the damage that was delt. Maybe the night would get better, she sure hoped so.

With a sudden movement, Saluce had stopped. What was wrong now? The mistress looked up to his eyes and saw nothing but fear and anger. As he dropped the wood, she looked around to try and find what it was that was freaking him out. Her grip tightened on him as he let out a growl. She was so scared, it she soon saw why he was acting this way. Right behind them was that creature, the one that scared Layla so badly. Why did there have to be another one? In her fear, the she wolf positioned herself behind the behemoth as the creature came closer. The only thing she could think the bear would be after was the fresh rabbit meat she had in her satchel. If that was the case, then she wouldn't mind throwing the bear a couple pieces and then continuing on.

Layla was just reaching into her satchel when she felt the behemoth's arms around her. She knew she wanted him to protect him but not this much, especially seeing there might be another way out of this situation. It wasn't until she looked to the bear itself when he realized it might be after her. Fear rose to the surface once more as she began to bury her face gently into his chest. her tail curled down in her fear. How much she wanted them to just run, but Saluce was not going to back down. Once the beast stood up on its back legs, she was completely frozen. It was as if this one was bigger than the first one she saw. Her orbs moved to Saluce's emotionless ones. She didn't want him to get hurt the same way she did.

Carefully Layla set down her satchel and moved her hands onto his shoulders. If her love wasn't going to back down, then she wasn't going to abandon him. She was determined to help him seeing as the last time a bear attacked her she was pathetic. She had done nothing to help her rescuer and she regreted it since that day. Now was different. The mistress was not going to back away from fear. The way she saw it, the only way she was going to get over her fear was to take it head on. While Saluce's attention was on the bear, she hoped he was enough to keep the bear's attention off her while she changed forms. For the moment she was unsure of whether to use her lupus form or her secui form. She was leaning towards her secui form but she had to admit that her lupus form was better for speed, just in case the thought of running away came from her or her mate. Her delicate hands morphed into paws and her hair receaded. Her arms changed back to her legs and her body shrank until she was the size of a regular wolf.

Carefully Layla slinked away from her mate and ran to the bear's back side. With a body built for speed, she doubted the bear would be able to keep up with her. Once she was at the bear's back side, she would take out her claws and use them to climb up the bear's back. Once up and on the bear's head, she would then lower her head and bite right down on the bear's eye. Perhaps if she could blind it, the creature would back off and run away. Realizing that the bear may try and attack her, she would let go of the bear's eye and move if it tried to attack her. Now it was up to the behemoth on his next move. If he needed to change then Layla was making a good distraction to give him time. The she wolf's claws dug into the beast's face as she waited for Saluce to make his move.
