Layla was more than positive that her sudden action surprised her mate. It was what she was going for. Not only was she determined to get back at the bear for the injury, but she was not about to let it harm her mate. Nornally the male would be the one protecting his lady, but she would put her life on the line to ensure that her mate would not get harmed. So far it seemed her plan was working. She had given Saluce enough time to change forms and was able to injure the bear greatly. Now that her duty was done, all she had to do was keep the bear's attention until Saluce attacked. It was easy enough. Once the beast was fed up with the mistress being on his eye, he began to swing wildly at her. In order to dodge them, she realeased her jaws from the creature's eye and moved away from his paws. Using her claws to keep a grip on the bear's thinck fur, she made her way back down his backside as the behemoth made his grip onto the beast's neck. She had to admit that they made a great team.

It wasn't until she was finally off the bear that she turned and saw the horror before her eyes. It was Saluce, he had been hit. Frozen with sheer horror, it felt like something snapped inside Layla. A mixture of worry and anger filled her. Her tail shot up into the air as she raced but up the bear and snapped right on its ear. She tugged at it furiously to get the bear away from her love and just to cause it more pain so it would learn to leave them alone. As it continued to toss a bit, she tried pulling the bear's ear off before climbing off it again. The mistress was glad to see the bear backing off, but to make sure it wasn't going to come back, she chased it back into the wods. Once it was good and gone, she huffed in victory and slowly made her way back to her mate.

She could hear him calling out her name in pain and worry. Quickly Layla made her way back to him and to his side. The wound was not too bad but it was still bleeding. To reduce the pain, she began to lick his wounds clean. She had brought her aloe ointment but it was going to be hard to apply in her lupus form. She had just recently changed so she would have to wait a while before she could change. This of course was not going to stop her. The mistress moved over to bag and carefully used her jaws to open it. There was a lot of stuff inside, but it couldn't be too hard to find the ointment. She used her paws to seach through the satchel for the small jar. Once she found it, Layla carefully grabbed it with her jaws and moved back over to the behemoth. Opening it was no easy task. With a combination of loosening with her jaws and twisting with her paws, she got the jar open. Moving her jaws around the jar, she held her head sideways and moved over to Saluce. Once her head was over the wound, she tilted the jar so some of the ointment landed on his wounds. After enough was one, Layla moved her head back and set the jar back down by the top. Moving back over to her love, she used her paws and muzzle to spread the ointment on his wounds. Now that that was done, she would have to wait til she could change before applying bandages. It would just be too hard in her lupus form. Moving to her love's backside, she laid down close to him and laid her head to his. With a nuzzle and a kiss, she just wanted to comfort her injured mate. The mistress took a look to the wound before looking into his orbs. "Are you alright love? Does it hurt?" While she realized she should have asked him before, it was better than never asking at all.
