Alder didn't want to look, didn't want to see that he had hurt the little snail. He immediately felt guilty, knowing that when he did open his eyes he would fine the snail in pain. But he did, moved by an unknown emotion and his need to see what had happened was just too much. His black eyelid cracked, bright blue eye looking out to see what state the snail was in. Alder sat up straight at the sight, eyes blinking and his head cocking. Denali spoke, telling Alder that he hadn't done it right. Alder frowned, though there was a very small part of him that was grateful that he hadn't done it. Touching the stems of the snail seemed to be a bit harsh, violating the creature by touching it's softer parts. Oohhh He responded with a low and soft tone. He hadn't known, and now wondered greatly what the slicker parts of the snail felt like.
With a straight lined mouth the pup watched the other young male take his paw and touch the snail without much hesitation. He was so brave, Alder noticed now with the other's show of courage. He couldn't imagine doing something without thinking about it, without weighing out the pros and cons and thinking about the consequences of it. He assumed that others did the same, Denali was very quick in taking in all these factors.
But what happened was so very unexpected, at the snails reaction Alder couldn't help but laugh. He giggled brightly, leaning back with his high pitched chuckles. Wowwwh He said between his giggles, his eyes remained on the little beast, noticing that there was nothing wrong with the little snail. He didn't even seem scared, though the slow thing was moving a bit faster now. Where was he going? Thas really coool Alder said, repeating the new word that his mother had never said before. His tail wagged, bum wiggling and Alder took a few prancing steps through the grass to get closer.
