Was kind of distracted writing this, I hope it doesn't suck >.> 300+

Some hunters chose their targets before startling the heard, but Nayati always waited to see which was best. At times he would chose one before, and others he liked to see the herd moving before he picked which individual animal to go after. Whenever possible, he wanted to chose an animal that was old, sick or injured. The Utina man believed in the balance and value of all life, even the lives on the animals they had to prey upon to survive. He didn't like taking young and healthy deer from the herds. Thankfully, as he saw this particular herd running away from them, he caught sight of a doe that was lagging behind and seemed to be having trouble breathing. Deciding quickly, he pulled back taut on the bowstring, his eyes locking on the laboring doe. The thundering of the many running hooves became dulled in his ears as he released the arrow and the string twanged past his air.

A pained cry came from the deer as the arrow buried itself in her flank and she stumbled. For a second he thought that the one arrow had been enough to bring her down, but she continued on bravely, limping badly. By this time though the rest of the herd had nearly left her completely behind and Nayati and Iye closed in on her closer. Swiftly he grabbed and nocked another arrow, took aim at the back of her head, and released once more. The arrow hit its mark easily and dropped the doe immediately. Iye slowed and turned back around to their kill. The pale man hopped down and went to the body carefully. Her sides didn't labor with breath anymore, and he was thankful that last arrow had done its job of ending her pain. His pale blue gaze then sought out Liliana, hoping to gauge her reaction to the affair.
