It had been several long months since Samael’s children had first come to this land. Gabriel had watched them all from a distance, cautious as to what they might have inherited. None of the brood seemed very pleased with their father, and this was enough to ease his doubts. Their loyalty to Inferni was equally welcomed. Lord knew the clan needed warriors even now that Haku was gone—Gabriel had seen enough battle to know that the enemy was never gone. The face changed, but the threats would linger and wait in the shadows for the right time to strike.

Unfortunately, he had realized soon after his observation had begun that he was not dealing with the larger coyote and hybrid blood he had become used to. Samael’s children were smaller than average, and barely resembled coyotes at all. Despite this, he remained optimistic that they would find their uses. Enkiel, the only one he had directly spoken to, had expressed interest in medicine. Though Gabriel was only a combat medic, he did his best to aid the boy in learning what he could.

This was why when he spotted the pair, a golden and white shape next to a much larger shadow, he was pleased to see what they were doing. Eris was an enigma yet, and Gabriel was unsure how much faith he could put in her. Seeing her with his nephew (her nephew as well, he figured) pleased the Aquila. He approached at an easy lope, and was equally as pleased that Enkiel dipped his head in a show of respect. Though the boy was not used to pack living, he was respectful of his elders. Gabriel looked over to Eris. It still surprised him how much she looked like a wolf. “Doing some training?” He asked.
