OOC here: 518 words

Actually Izaak was dense. He was pretty much uneducated so he didn't even realize what others would pick up on, that Niro was pretty much talking down to him. But then again the coyote boy was literal, he needed things spelled out exactly for him to be able to understand. There was that whole babysitting incident and the eating mommy thing as well. Subtleties just didn't work for him. He just didn't get those small hints. Instructions had to be given clearly, with no risk of being misinterpreted, for him to be able to pick up on them So really Niro's way of speaking was a help rather than a hindrance. He still didn't entirely understand though. He had no idea what a bird or an egg was. He had never been formally introduced to other species and other ways of being born. This lead him to believe that everything was what he was. Just like he had no idea that these same animals he seen running around were where his food came from. It was just handed to him and he ate it. He had no idea that it had to be hunted and killed. So no, he didn't even have the skills to survive on his own. Someone had always looked after him and cared for him. He'd never had to do for himself before. It was mostly that he had just been lucky was all.

So even though he didn't understand exactly he still nodded his head. "Bird." The child repeated what he had been told, pointing to the eagle on Niro's arm while looking to the wolf for confirmation. He didn't lack intelligence so much as he did education. After all he picked up on what Niro was saying even if he didn't exactly understand it. The funny looking thing was called a bird, not a coyote. Or so that is what it seemed like the other was saying. That is what Izaak was getting from the exchange at least. He now at least knew the term even if he didn't exactly understand what it meant. He was adding to his vocabulary in the very least.

Izaak dropped to his knees and crawled forwards, reaching a hand out towards the eagle. He didn't even think before he acted. Didn't even consider a need for personal space. He figured that since Niro was touching the bird then he was free to touch as well. "She babys?" The coyote questioned as fingers reached out to try to stroke the feathers on the fowl's chest. He still wasn't understanding exactly but he was trying to at least. After all there was no way that he could learn unless he asked a bunch of questions. And sure, most of them seemed like ones that the answers should already be known but he didn't know them. He was never taught. It was never too late in life to learn something new. And he was still young enough that his lack of knowledge should be excused. Especially if his mother and the conditions that he grew up in were known.
