He felt teeth nipping at his fur and stopped running immediately, somersaulting as he whirled around to run in the opposite direction. Claws dug deep furrows into the ground as his hind legs propelled him forward and away from Saluce once again. He paused to call back over his shoulder as his eyes sought out a tree that they had passed. Its roots were partially above the ground, creating a small hidey-hole as they intertwined. Gideon would fit in such a hole..but Saluce? "Or be smarter" He shouted as he caught sight of the tree, running straight at the crevice and not slowing down.
Once he was inside of it he went as far back into the hole as he could, keeping away from the entrance. "Can't get me now!" He kicked at a few rocks and pieces of bark, sending them flying out of the hole. There was one larger rock in the very bottom of it and he rolled it toward the front of the crevice, blocking it off for the most part. He could dig himself an exit out of here if Saluce insisted on trying to get him out of there. He'd get away somehow and try to outsmart the adult.
