Asleep in the City [P]

Slightly confused as to where this is, or is it the first territory, “Flanders Fields”? Haven’t really paid much attention to what land the pack wanted n such, thought we were going to be in a forest, originally, but meh Wink

Mild sunlight warmed her face as the female entered an area she had yet to explore. Upon finding the new lands that the wolves of the old territories had claimed, and being allowed to also come here to settle down, Mew had taken up the task of exploring everything. The lands were many, and with great variation in surroundings. This one she had just entered gave her associations to the abandoned human city in the old lands, although not as big, nor as dangerous. There were no traps of collapsing tunnels or buildings that seemed so tall they nearly reached the stars, ready to fall down to crush a traveller. These lands were.. peaceful in comparison, nearly idyllic, aside from the fact that it, like the old city, was clearly dead. The female preferred forests and more natural surroundings, really, seemingly untouched by human hands. The fate of the humans made her depressed, though she didn’t know what had happened she knew that these lands must once have been full of life, and now.. just empty, aside from, of course, wildlife claiming it as theirs. She shrugged the line of thinking off, it would ruin the thrill of exploring. Walking around sad-faced would gain her nothing, and there were new sights to see! As if she hadn’t seen anything like it, during her nearly two years of separation from her birthlands she had come across so so many things, but it was still new. And new was good. Anyway she had to find out whether she wanted to settle down in any of the areas she’d found.

The warm light complimented her fur colour and made it shine with all the splendor of her white coat, nearly blinding, and the female caught her reflection in a half broken window of an old building. Her weight gain over the last four weeks was obvious, to her, at least, but no one here knew her, no one would notice anyway. To be honest, she just looked plain normal, in comparison to how she was used to her form being fragile in appearance. She found an odd fascination in following her moving reflection in more broken windows as she passed buildings, some reflections were stretched, some were shrinked, and some were twisted in the broken glass. Moving along buildings she noticed a figure that didn’t quite fit in with the surroundings. Another wolf? And.. sleeping, or resting, it seemed. White coat like her own, she had at first thought it was just a twisted reflection of herself, but this was clearly someone else. She moved quietly so as not to surprise the other, calmly but firmly walking closer to the resting wolf. She remembered days where she would have been more cautious, but hell, she was here now, and she knew she would harm no one. Surely this other person would notice her good intentions.

Curiously eyeing the other, Mew contemplated walking away while she could, but swiftly changed her mind. If she wanted to settle down somewhere (and anywhere will do, she thought), she had to check out the other inhabitants of the areas in addition to the territories themselves. A small cough, melodic voice.

”Um. Hi.”
