The knack of flying

Hello

As she walked, her paws sunk into the soggy sand near the beach. This was new to her and she hadn’t much experience with beaches. She had a lot of experience with forests and meadows, however. Her fur blew with the breeze that had traveled over the ocean and onto the lands. She stopped and looked around. This place made her nervous, but nervous only because she wasn’t familiar with it. It was new to her as was so much else recently. She had come from distant lands onto Souls’ territories and it was all so different from where she had been.

She continued along the beach until something caught her eye. It looked to be a huge structure in the distance. Structures always seemed to amaze her, so she began to walk up toward the more forest-like area. She was enjoying the beach, but she probably would enjoy this much more. The ground went from mushy to almost solid in the matter of about five feet so the change wasn’t so sudden. Her paws adapted and soon she was walking normal again on her four legs. Her two toned body was partially visible in the blue of the night. It was dusk and almost dark.

Soon, she came upon this huge building with a tall iron fence. This sight made her heart flutter with excitement, and she proceeded without caution or hesitation. She walked up the path that led to the structure and was almost near the door when she spotted something unpleasant. Another. She stopped abruptly and growled loudly. She didn’t like others, and especially lone others. He looked like he was drugged out and incapable of doing harm, but one never knows.

She stepped a couple steps forward and continued to growl at the male slouched against the wall. He looked as if to be nodding out and there was a bird pecking at his clothes. He still wasn’t moving, but Axelle wouldn’t take any chances. She stood stiff, and stood her ground making sure the male wasn’t going anywhere. After a couple of minutes words began to seep through her growling clenched teeth.
