Skye had been walking through the old city of Halifax, smelling the smell of concrete and nature combining in a strange stew of nature and man. She had read a lot about the humans - what they were like, why they did the things they did. But she'd also heard how they ceased to exist from her parents, whose parents had been around when the horrible thing happened. It was a disease; a disease with no cure. But it had also given rise to the Luperci, so Skye thought that wasn't all too bad.

Still, she wished humans still existed - perhaps they'd help the Luperci with things like building houses and making cities and books and all the wonderful things humans did somehow. Her parents had told her that the humans had started with nothing but sticks and stones, and had made these wondrous things out of them. Buildings. Planes. Books. Cars. She'd read about all of them with love and wonder in her mind.

But she herself was climbing her way up - Cercatori d'Arte. What a wonderful name. The name of her new pack, to be exact - the one she was now co-leader of along with Shawchert. She closed her eyes, stopping and smiling, happy that her own little civilization was thriving.

Suddenly, she heard a sound. Snapping open her eyes, she concentrated hard. Coming just around the bend was the sound of...footsteps? Well, one footstep, and one...thump. Step, thump, step, thump. What kind of creature was this? Peering her head around the corner, she saw.

It was a wolf. The cause of his strange footfalls was that he had a cane rather than a foot. Well, he had his foot - it was just hurt. Anyone could see that. She let her eyes wander up his body - his yellow body - to his face. His eyes were a deep blue, seeming to hold secrets and pasts that Skye could only guess at. His hair was spiky, adorned with all different colors - it reminded her somewhat of the eccentric Cercatori d'Arte member, Ouija. He had a bar on his ear - she didn't know what it was called - and small piercings on his lip. And he was quite handsome.

She moved from the corner of the buildings and stood in the middle of the road. She was there for several moments before it occurred to her that she had to actually say something. Don't just stand there like an idiot, you idiot! she reprimanded herself. Say something! Anything!

"Hello," she said. "It's a lovely city, isn't it?"
