Element nodded as Conor told him the strict rules of the bandaged leg - he couldn't put any pressure on it at all for the next few days. He knew that was true, as any pressure to the now-swollen leg would perhaps break it all over again, and Element most certainly did not want that. Nevertheless, he did have to move - he would try to move with three legs later. He had done it once before, when he got a rock stuck between his paw pads, but that hadn't been nearly the same - the consequences of touching the ground then had simply been a sharp pain before he had dug it out with his teeth and claws - the consequences now would be being a cripple for life. He didn't dare put any pressure on the leg, and shifted it slightly so that it would not touch anything if he stood or if Conor moved. The pain that wracked his leg was strong, and he decided not to move the leg anymore.

The man Conor then asked Element to take something into proper consideration, and he stopped moving about and focused on the Luperci with an almost eerie focus, like cats often did. It was like he was peering into the soul of the orange wolf with his emerald sights, but it was really just the sight of a cat focusing on his new-found friend. He knew that whatever Conor had to say, it was important, or he wouldn't have introduced it like that. He waited, stock-still, for the news that he said he bore.

It was as the ebony feline expected - Conor wanted to take Element into his home until his leg healed. Element knew that a feline was a creature of habit and a creature of freedom, but this was no ordinary circumstance. He found himself smiling at the orange man, grateful for all he had done for the feline, even though he hadn't had to.

"Thank you again," Element said. "It would be an honor to be welcomed into your home until my leg heals." He was astounded by this canine's kindness; he had been shown friendliness before by wolves, and happiness, and even had secrets told to him. But never before had he had someone been so kind to him, take time out of their lives to help him get better, and even ask him into their home. In the cold world the cat had grown up in, in all his years that he'd been, this wolf that he now realized was younger - but perhaps not wiser - than him had shown him true kindness, and it had shown him that the world was not a cruel place, but a place of beauty.
