For whatever reason, Tsukiko had felt the need to leave her little home in Wolfville and go out for a walk. Maybe she had just finally reached the point where she could not stay cooped up indoors any longer. She barely ventured out her front door. The weather was cold and Saul was now helping by bringing her some food each week, so there really was no reason that the Japanese fey had to venture into the unforgiving winter air. When she dressed herself she layered some of her lighter, summer garments under her kimono to help keep her warm while she was out. The Dahlian refugee was expecting to go out on her own, since her feline companion Setsuna disliked the cold even more than she did, but the cat had decided to come with her for whatever reason. They set out, trudging through the snow side by side under the oppressively cloudy sky.

Tsukiko had set off towards the border of the Dahlian lands and once they reached it, the pair walked along the edge of the claimed territory. Ever since she had come to Dahlia and crossed that invisible line she had not dared to cross it again. The noble woman was not sure why exactly that was. It was not as if there were anything out there to be afraid of, except for the coyotes and their barbaric fence, but they were some distance away from Dahlia de Mai. Maybe it was because everything about this land was so unknown and strange to her. She barely felt comfortable inside this pack and knew that it would not be any better if she walked outside the borders. There was nothing she was looking for. Her only goal was to hunker down and survive this period of exile until the day came that she could return back to Japan.

The Shimazu's pace was slow and careful as she walked the border, her hands tucked into the sleeves of the opposite arm to keep warm. She would need to dry the bottom of her kimono when she arrive home, but she did not think the fabric would come to any harm getting a little wet. Despite the cold temperature, it was nice to get some fresh air.
