“All of the above,” he answered, though the supply hidden away within his bag had begun to dwindle dangerously. He prided himself on his knowledge of local plants, and he was dumb enough to test new things on his own. There wasn’t much of a different between each variety of plant, for easily depending on the situation their attributes could switch categories. It helped to know which plants to avoid consuming, and it helped knowing that if need be he had an effective, silent means of self defense.
It also helped knowing what plants would give him a good time for a few hours—poisonous things, though not exactly fatal as long as one knew what they were doing. He was a tree hugger, preferring mental puzzles to physical altercations, though it was more through sheer laziness than some intellectually driven aspect of his personality. He wasn’t the smartest creature around by any means.
