Despite what had happened to her mother, Savina had never suffered the pain of a broken heart and that nearly made her feel guilty in moments like this for she would have swapped that hurt that her daughter felt and taken it for her own. Why was it that some could be lucky and meet their match on the first try and others were left broken hearted and alone? It didn't make sense to the matriarch and she wished that it could have been different for Amata. Of course she and Kansas had had their fair share of bumps in the road, but nothing that had come between them momentarily could ever compare to the pain that would come if they were no longer together. Such thoughts nearly made the woman physically ill. Maybe it wasn't right to have so much of herself wrapped up in her mate, but she couldn't help it, it was simply the way they had grown together.

Savina would have been willing to continue talking about the problem, but right now she didn't want to push Amata and if her girl needed to talk about other things then that is what they would do. "Yes, she's quite talented, just as you are." Even though she had not received any medicinal care from her pale daughter, she knew that Amata was just as skilled as her sister was in the area of healing. "Everyone else is fine, as far as I'm aware. Ghita is busy with the pups, Ehno is delving into some carpentry projects, including a stable since there are a couple horses in the pack now. Everything has been quiet lately, for the most part." The Consul certainly wasn't complaining, quiet was good, quiet was stable. She would much rather things be calm than otherwise. The incident with the bear was the exception and not the rule.

"Your father is doing well, and yes I suppose he is," she said with a soft note of laughter. Kansas did have a knack for doing everything he could for her. If it were anyone else she likely would have been put off by such an effort, but in her mate in was simply endearing. There was some tension between Jazper and Kansas recently, but Savina did not feel the need to bring that up to Amata. The reason for the ill feelings between the two men were not something the children needed to hear and she hoped that Jazz would have the good sense not to say anything to the Sadira while she was tending to him. If he did, he would be in for an earful from her.

The Marino could sense a bit of restlessness in her daughter, a kind of nervous energy that perhaps needed to be burned off. It wasn't hard to guess what the source of it was, and since distraction is what her daughter needed, then a distraction is what she would suggest. "Would you like to maybe go for a walk or something? We probably don't want to go too far this late, but if you would like...?" Savina left her question open to other ideas in case Amata had any, the important thing was to express that she was not set on sitting around talking if it would be helpful to the hurt girl to do something else.
