Her world was turned utterly upside down as she lost her footing on the rather slippery surface that surrounded the springs, toppling not only into the hot water, but onto what would have been a familiar orange body within it. As it was, she didn't realize she had toppled over onto the German van Ulrich, disturbing his place in the spring as much as she had, until he panicked and grabbed her, pulling both himself and the drunken Lykoi back to the surface. She giggled as she was hauled toward the edge, where she watched his white fingers grasp the ground there. But he was annoyed, and the laughter disappeared as he spoke to her, blaming her for what had happened.
"You're angry," she whispered, breath creating soft white clouds in the air that was so much warmer than what she exhaled. The voice that escaped her was not the normal Talitha, not the confident woman she usual was, but the voice of a child who had been turned away from affection. She hadn't know he would be there, and she certainly hadn't meant to fall on top of him. Regardless, she felt guilt and shame, her muscles going limp in his grasp.
"What are you doing?" Her black-rimmed ears twitched subtly as she listened, bringing a chestnut hand to her muzzle. Her teeth found one of the knuckles, biting down on it in an attempt to comfort herself. "I was jus' tryin' t' take a walk, mhm. Kin'a got bored 'f bein' in m' room." Her voice was laced with the liquor as much as her scent was, stumbling over words as they flowed into the air. She couldn't sit still for long, at least not alone.
Cotl was irritated, though, and it made the situation less pleasant than it should have been. Her hands reached out to rest on his shoulders, playing with the water-soaked coal locks she enjoyed so very much. "I'm sorry, hmm?" The apology was rather superficial, meant to make the German feel better even if she didn't really mean it.
