[P] Sing a Song of Something

Sorry, I didn't have much muse for this post, so I'm sorry if its seems a little dull. <\3

Elaine watched the coyote jumped from her sudden appearance, and she wondered for a moment if she should have been less rash and not have busted out a greeting from nowhere. Though she can seem calm and collective, the wolfdog tended not to think over things like saying hi to a passerby, and just act on the first thought that first comes to mind. She slipped down from the porch railings, since the weight on her Lupus hind legs were uncomfortable, and padded down the two steps that led up to the wooden platform, and approached Slade, though she stayed a good two feet away from the man. Though he seemed friendly, she was wary of how other canines acted; when she first met Shawchert, he was prepared to attack her just with her appearance in front of Sky's house. But it turned out it was hunger that drove him to his hostility, and the Lovato soon changed that by giving him a small meal. Winter must be tougher up here in the north, she had thought, when her leader had chow downed on the lunch.

But, Slade did not seem upset that she had greeted him, and it banished the thoughts that the male will show anger for any given reason. When he admitted that he did not see her, when he was so close to her home, she just simply raised an "eyebrow" at those words, but did not comment on it. Elaine assumed that there must be something wrong with his senses, but she saw no need to voice her curiosity, though it did press against her mind and danced along her lips to be asked. "Its perfectly fine,"she reassured the coyote, giving a shake of her head to express her words with movement. "Anyway, sorry for the spook. My name is Elaine, one of the new singers." She doubted that Slade have heard of her, but yet she did not know if rumors of her have yet reached her packmate's ears that a new canine joined their ranks.

"What's your rank?"she asked, forcing her voice to come out as monotonous instead of probing curiosity. Though Elaine did not expect it by the way he acted, she wouldn't be too surprised if he was somehow higher position in his talent's group than her's in the singer group. That was the perks of being the newcomer; knocking off the latest packmate from the limelight of the new arrival and shoving the fresh meat onto the stage, starting rock bottom.
