The orange and red hued pup nodded his head as the man repeated his answer as a question, mice and rats were all Makhesthai could hunt with any degree of success at the moment but the small pup was getting bigger, soon maybe he could move up to bigger prey items, he positively preened at the idea of being able to bring his adoptive mother, Kaena a deer or something else just as impressive to the aged hybrid woman. The man named himself as Imacai, the name suited him for it was short and simple. Makhesthai took a step back from the golden man now that their personal scents had been exchanged and names given, he regarded the man with his blue gaze taking his distinguishing features and placing them away in his memory along with his scent.

Maki followed Imacai's gaze upwards to the sky that stretched out above the Infernians, his eyes seeing nothing of importance to the young scarred pup they rolled over the circling bird with disinterest and wondered what the man was looking for in the sky but then he pointed directly at the bird and named it food. Maki tilted his head, food? It was so high up in the air, how would they catch it? but nevertheless he obediently followed the older male as he made towards the black circling form clearly Imacai has knowledge of importance that he wanted to share with Makhesthai and for that he was grateful, any knowledge was good as far as he was concerned.

The coyote man took out the stems of a plant that Makhesthai has never clapped eyes on before and handed one to the Tirones Minor, Maki took the stem from him, thanking him politely at the same time and looked at it as though it might combust in his paws unsure as what to do with it, he turned back to Imacai and observed the man as he chewed on the stem and then appeared to suck on it. Naturally to keep himself alive under his mother's 'care' the pup had resorted to consuming plant matter when he could not find anything to catch to ensure that he did not starve and had found that most plants tasted disgusting so he could not help the small wince and he placed the stem into his mouth and chewed.

He was surprised however as the expected bitterness did not materialize on the taste receptors of his tongue instead a wonderful sweetness spread out over his mouth until his entire taste sense was overwhelmed with it, the pup had never eaten something that tasted like this before, he sucked on the stem so as to extract every last bit of the delicious stew that his saliva made with the innards of the stem. When the duo came upon the rabbit's corpse Makhesthai finally understood the purpose of following the birds like they had done, he nodded his head at the showing of a valuable life skill since it had not taken much from them to walk to this point, again he thanked the man, this time for agreeing to teach him.
