His head tilted, and he asked a question that almost made the russet woman gasp in horror. Was she one of Kaena's many children? "Of course not, I don't have a mother." It wasn't entirely true. Like any other creature, she'd been born to a female and sired by a male, brought into this world in a loving home not often found in the animal kingdom. It was, of course, action that fueled her opinions on beings. Gabriel, her handsome monster of a father, took away all love she had for parental figures. Faolin was a whore. A traitor. And so, Talitha claimed no mother. Her head shook, auburn tresses scattered about easily.
"You are not her child either. Grandmother Kaena has grown past the age of childbirth. You are young." She pointed out the flaws in the child's claim without remorse. He called himself a Lykoi, but she knew it was otherwise. If he was claiming Kaena as 'mother', he was wrong. It hadn't been born into her that blood was not to be shared so easily, but somehow she believed it. Claims of a name that one held no birth right to was abhorrent. She could have never considered it. Yet this boy destroyed that belief with a few simple phrases; blood heated in hidden veins.
