The boy wasn't the sort to look imposing at all. He only topped the five feet mark by a few inches and that was it. Not to mention that he was slight in body as well. He wasn't adorned in perceivable muscles. He only had fit enough musculature to allow him to move about but nothing beyond that so he clearly lacked in physical strength. So in a brawl he was certainly at a disadvantage when left to his own. Of course he had his ways around that. Not that the one particular way was currently with him. No, his personal body guard was off doing his own thing while Bastion had decided to go out and explore for himself. Janos had gotten here before him and had time to explore before settling with a pack and Bastion didn't have that fortune. He came over at word from Janos and made it in time enough to be around for the formation of the pack. Because of that he really only knew the area where the pack was at. Not to say that he knew such all that well either. After all he only had a few days in which to explore and learn his way about.

But he had slipped away from the claimed lands in order to see what else was nearby. He didn't want to wander too far away from home now that he had a home. He still had some settling in to do. Besides, he would probably have Janos travel with him should he seek to go too far away. Sure, Bastion could look after himself but why should he when he had someone that was entirely willing to do it for him? Why not use the one who wished to do just that? If it gave them a purpose then he certainly saw nothing wrong with using someone else. But that could just be him. He enjoyed having others beneath him and bending to his will. He was attracted to that power and of course would seek to keep it.

The boy's wandering was aimless. That was at least until there were sounds to attract his attention. Of course childlike curiosity got the better of him and had him making his way on over. It was coming from the mountain from what he could speculate. The youth certainly didn't have the hardiness to try and tempt so a great natural formation. Rather he remained near the base and used a hand to shade his eyes as he tilted his head in order to look up the great land mass to try to figure out what was going on. There seemed to be some sort of escapade happening on the mountain and then something tumbling down. And that was the exact reason that he wasn't even about to try climbing up something so large. He didn't want to risk breaking his neck just to conquer such a feat. He was quite happy with his feet planted firmly upon the ground.

Not long after the animal had tumbled did he end up spotting a canine come down after it. He couldn't catch what was being said but the smell of blood attracted him. It even caused the feminine appearing boy to take a few steps closer to the mountain and even attempt a partial climb. He didn't get far before common sense took over. And that common sense came in the form of a sharp rock piercing the palm on his hand. It was a small scratch but the way the boy reacted one would think it was life threatening.

He plopped his butt down on the flat and soft ground as he cuddled his hand close to his chest. He yowled and cried out in pain, looking very much like an injured child. Then again with many of his mannerisms and wit just how small he was he found himself often mistaken for a child. A little girl child at that, or at least at first glance since scent told an entirely different story. He whimpered as he tried to lick at his hand before he decided it wasn't a good idea. His eyes once again found the other canine. When he noticed that the other had spotted him in return Bastion put on his most pathetic and pleading expression. He held his injured hand up and held it out in the direction of the male on the mountainside in an unspoken request for assistance.
