Mother she was in her deepest heart, mother she had always been in her past lives and would be in her future ones as well. Guardian she would forever be to the ones that had no one to protect them, Guide to the ones that had lost their way and had no light to guide them and no path to tread with certainty. It was this that had her following Tawny stealthily through the forests of their new pack. It was not that she did not trust or believe in her newest daughter of her heart, but that she felt the constant need to protect and lead. Her stronger, faster hybrid body easily kept up with the simple minded brown woman. Hiding in the snow when you were not white was an enormous task and one that required a massive amount of skill, keeping hidden in the forest with white parts that stuck up was pretty much the same, she made use of every available amount of cover. Even going so far as to roll around in some mud to cover up the worst of the white, it would stain of course but she would grow new fur to replace it soon enough.

It did not take her long to notice the signs that her daughter was following, an injured deer. Tawny was hunting for large game. Jace watched from the sidelines as Tawny attacked, brought down and killed the deer all on her own, feeling pride swell within her chest. She waited patiently until Tawny had finished and ate her fill, and lay basking in the sunshine. With her elevated rank Jace could have easily walked straight up and outranked the brown woman into handing over her kill, but Jace would never do such a thing, not for any reason. When she finally did reveal herself from the bushes, she slunk over with her body low to the ground and her ears pulled to her head, tail limp against her hindquarters with small appeasing whines coming from her maw, this was Tawny's kill and the confused woman could end up aggressive over it if she thought Jace was here to steal it from her.

She sat slightly away from the vicinity, waiting to be invited in closer. The smell of fresh meat made her salivate and a strong of drool dangled from one corner of her muzzle unnoticed. Jace had expended a lot of energy trailing Tawny unheard or seen. Stealth required a lot of effort, both mental and physical.
