The howl made him raise his head in curiosity. At first, he had no idea what was going on. But as soon as he understood the message, the young man dropped his book, ignoring it as it clanked to the ground. In a few moments he found himself scavenging in his room for the knife he had found in Halifax. It was small but if what the howl was screaming at him was correct, he would need it. Silvano did not know how to properly use it, but he would be damned if he let any member of his family be hurt by the approaching menace. He did not don his only pair of pants; they would only be a hassle if things came down to hand to hand, if the howl was anything to go by. Silvano was not confident at all, his skills were not developed. But he had grown tall and he grew strong, and he hoped he inherited his mother's abilities.

He was on the porch already, knife in hand. He howled back a call to whoever it was calling; he recognized it as the Aatte woman, but it was still a call he had to return. Maybe it would scare off whoever was approaching. But the young man ran back into the house, eager to get anyone out of the house immediately. Fire. The smell of smoke was faint but it was coming. Silvano felt a flicker of fear for the house and the books that he cherished so much. The people were far more important and they had to get out, just in case. "Everyone, hurry!" cried the Sadira male, growling in his fear. "Get out!"
