Mati look down at the table as she spoke. It was hard to look her in the eye, and though the Church woman was strong... She held weaknesses. She could not study the dark featured woman as her artistic eye always did while she spoke. The memories were touching her heart like shards of broken glass, but Mati appreciated that Soran understood the pain that came with remembering. But there was so much guilt in the Aatte female's words and tone. Mati didn't truly understand why she felt her obligation had been to she and her siblings, for the bronze woman had forgotten her grandmother and never hated her for being absent.
Glancing upwards Mati waited until she had explained herself and why she had come here before bringing her voice back into the conversation. There won't be any resentment between us. Mati gave with a hint of a smile, it was the best bit of forgiveness that she could come by. Mati had never been the best at forgiving and forgetting, and she hadn't been able to forgive Naniko or her father for their actions. She was relieved that there was more then just she and the guilt that Soran felt that kept the older woman in the Dreaming pack. It was a bit selfish but Mati didn't want to be the reason she came or went. Who else do you know here? She asked, trying to turn the conversation onto something that did not involve Mati or those painful memories.
