He had never been affected much by the killings he had committed (barring his beloved sister), but it had been years. He had not taken a life since before coming to this area over two years prior. Turning, he dragged himself to the ocean, though he did not go in to clean his own bloody wounds. He simply sat there, staring at the horizon, feeling sick.
More than an hour passed before he felt as if he could move again, and he moved to the body once more. Vigilante did not know what to do with Keese's body; he did not want to touch it again. Jade eyes settled on the small object with a metallic glint. Anann had been wearing a locked chain around her neck, and though he did not know if this key would open it, he suspected it might. Dipping his head with a wince, he took the object up in his teeth and turned back towards home, leaving the body of the sinner behind for the insects and birds.
