Yet the healer too, was small. Small enough that there was no doubting he was both a jackal and the runt of his litter. He had realized that as a child when the games had proven him weaker than all of his siblings. “You may be larger than me, when you are done growing,” he offered, though it was not meant to reassure her of such a thing.

They had made it about halfway to his destination, and Enkiel was glad of it. While he did not mind company, he did not wish to be out longer than he needed to be. “I am going to gather plants. You know I am the Resarcio, correct? My duty is to heal those who need it.” Along with other things, though he hardly put as much weight on those. They would rely on him to heal the wounded, to cure disease, and this was what his obligation to Inferni was. The others could fight.
