Terra's tail wagged lazily as Shandom spoke. She could see it as being true, though the curiosity she'd inherited had kept the adults she'd grown up with from acting like they knew everything. They taught what they knew was needed to survive and then set out pushing the boundaries as far as they could. If one went far, another would go farther. It was almost a constant game of leap frog, though Terra had been too young to participate.
Riff raff? Now whatever gave you that idea? Terra playfully teased. She knew full well that Shandom was more reserved than most of the canines in the pack, and enjoyed poking fun about it. A rank of a historian would be rather interesting in her mind. Terra had a record of the history of her pack in stories, but it wasn't necessarily very accurate. They tended to change as they were passed on, to make the story more exciting, or emphasize what the storyteller thought was important.
Lazily Terra came over, stealing a patch of the sun for herself. She'd learned more about Shandom in this brief walkabout then she'd ever expected. Terra hadn't known that Shandom had been trained to be an alpha, and she'd been shown a glimpse of his darker past. Normally her curiosity would have pressed her to find out more, but she was content to just enjoy herself with him and let her tell her what he wanted.
