Her defense was there, but easy to predict. However it was something that would be dealt with in time and X’yrin was in no rush to acknowledge her hastily conducted mistake. As the lighter arm rose to protect its adjoining shoulder, rather than take it the Nomad retracted her arm quickly and used her other opposing limb to make a grab for the vulnerable neck instead.

Her opponent needed to be pushed but not to the point of taking her out of the lesson by a hindering wound. Still X’yrin’s intentions remained to give the girl a scrape, perhaps a scratch provided it didn’t terribly mar her. Through her actions, her steps continued to move forward, step after well placed step in silent reminder that combat was not a standing still engagement. As well as keeping herself from severe wounds, she would have to learn to move as well.
