The Nomad moved swiftly toward her, and Vesper found her balance compromised as she tried to maintain the distance between them. However, her caution compared to the confidence with which the wolf moved meant that X’y was able to get in close enough for another slash, this one again aimed at her shoulder.
Vesper moved predictably once again, though this time her dodge was clumsier, and she found herself stumbling. Knowing very well how vulnerable she was in that moment, she transitioned quickly into a crouch and lunged for X’yrin, aiming to knock her shoulder into the other’s legs. She wondered if X’yrin would simply fall upon her as Ezekiel did, or if she would be able to keep moving quickly enough to get out of harm’s way.
