Terra watched the doe thrash under the wolf's powerful jaws. The hooves slashed at him, and Terra darted in. She wouldn't let her new -friend?- get crushed. Her own powerful teeth tore through the flank, making the hind leg useless. She continued to tear, ignoring the splashes of blood. At one point she nipped under, tearing open the stomach. For the most part though, she stood clear and in the back, making sure the male wasn't too damaged as the skull was crushed.
There was a final crunch, and the deer stopped struggling. They had brought it down. Whining happily Terra bounced over, tail wagging. She began licking at his face, clearing the blood and the like away. They'd brought down a deer. It wasn't in the way she'd expected, but they'd done well all the same. Catching herself Terra stepped away, embarrassed yet again. ...good hunt... Not able to think of more to say Terra tore off a leg and dragged it a little ways off. She'd leave the better parts for him. He needed the food more than her.
