Sophie cringed at his wrinkled forehead, thinking perhaps she'd been stupid again, but he quickly went on to explain, and seemed even proud to talk about it, so she slowly stood up again, until she could almost be called relaxed--well, if it weren't for the tail tucked between her legs and the ears which were nearly invisible, they were so flattened against her skull. She listened intently to his explanation, though, and for a moment she thought she understood--in the skewed way she understood things. Like Faffer! She said, somewhat timidly, as if the King, or Leader, was anything like her father, he wasn't one to be messed with. She glanced around somewhat worriedly at the thought, and then furrowed her brow as another thought occurred to her. Leader...scary? An'...mean? Go rawr lots? She actually did her best imitation of Daire's deep, frightening voice as she emphasized the rawr, but she couldn't quite make her own bones rattle. It was just as well; imitating him was likely the first step to summoning the man, and she didn't want that.

A pack was like...a big family? She wrinkled her little nose, staring at him thoughtfully, and said, Oh...Sophie is in pack! In...Hughes pack! and she giggled happily at that, wagging her tail. Sure, they weren't necessarily a big family, but they were all siblings, and Leon hunted and...he'd scared away Daire! Did that make Leon the King? Her eyes widened at the thought, and she wiggled slightly in place, eager to run off and ask. But Skoll was still doing that talky-thing with his tongue, so Sophie sat her booty back down and grinned brightly at him, though she still cringed somewhat hesitantly at his dominant position.

Skoll told her about his brother and sister, and she bobbed her head, and then had to shake it, as he'd asked about her mother and father--well, mom and daddy. She hesitated before she stood up straighter, blinking at him and narrowing her eyes as though working through a very difficult problem. Mumma make me Bug, before she ge' lef' behin'. Faffer She said, stressing the name as hard as she could 'cause she couldn't imagine any father letting their kids call them something as undignified as "daddy", especially if they were a King, and she didn't want this Vigilante person to sneak up on them and get mad, He ge's mad lots. Broofer Leon, he chase Faffer, go bye-bye! No more Faffer! She exclaimed, and turned in a neat little circle, proud of herself for relaying her brother's grande battle with Daire in such fantastic terms.

She plopped back down soon enough, though, and asked the question that had been killing her since she'd learned what Kings and Packs and the whole lot were--all of about three minutes. Tha' make Broofer Leon King, right? He lead an' take care of! An he strong and brave! Sophie said, building her case and nodding to herself as she spoke, as though it made perfect sense for Leon to be a King after a few short days of knowing him.
